This channel aims to be a resource for learning and enjoying early blues and boogie woogie piano music. I provide FREE sheet music of the pieces I play so that you can easily learn them too.
Little Brother - Mr. B., Arthur Migliazza
You can find free sheet music for this arrangement at kristianolsen.org/littlebrother.
This is a solo piano arrangement of “Little Brother,” a wonderful blues piano piece written by Mr. B. in homage to his teacher, Little Brother Montgomery.
A recording of Mr. B.’s version of the piece, performed in 1985, can be found on Shining the Pearls (Blind Pig Records, track 3). You can listen to it here: ruclips.net/video/FwhU2qvnb4c/видео.html.
I learned the piece from Arthur Migliazza (who learned it from Mr. B.), and he has put his own touches on the piece. As such, Migliazza properly deserves author credit on the version found here.

Davis Street Blues - Sugar Underwood

You can find the sheet music for this arrangement at kristianolsen.org/davisstreet. This is my version of Sugar Underwood's “Davis Street Blues.” The piece is, to my mind, one of the masterpieces of early blues piano. It is unique for several reasons. Hello Kristian, after 40 years not playing the piano I wanted to have a go at it. Back then my pianoteacher got me in to playing Boogie Woogie. After visiting other RUclips channels I was amazed what was still there. You play very well and your sheetmusic helps a lot. Thank you for the enormous effort to wright it all down. I noticed that several songs I watched at Ethan Leinwand you played and transscribed here. A song that I realy would like to learn is Sheeps Clothing. I hope you find time to put that in sheetmusic. ASgain thanks.
Thanks for the kind comment. I'm not familiar with "Sheep's Clothing." Will check it out.
Another excellent performance! Thank you.

Love it! What was the professional relationship between Henry Brown and Mary Johnson?
Henry Brown was Mary Johnson's piano player on an album. Not sure beyond that.
Good job? I really like this style. Have seen Ethan Leinwand’s channel? He’s really good too.
Yes! This piece is definitely inspired by Ethan!

The piano is a Kawai CA78. Great digital piano!
Hi, nice interpretation. But the link to the sheet music does not work.
Hmm...seems to be working when I try it!
Really like your content!
Thanks!
Your skill in transcribing and playing this genre of music is very impressive and appreciated. My Paternal Grandmother had a lot of piano sheet music from the early decades of the twentieth century, and I regret not having preserved it after her passing. I think this genre of music reminds people that life isn't all serious, and we should be happy. Carry on, good sir!
Thanks for the kind words!
Very cool!
Thanks!
Yes Sir!...Great work bro....good as it gets!..puts me in a trance...keep it up!
Thanks for listening!
