Seems like the only problem with rubber here is people thinking too literally. Rubber doesn’t consist of one property, but many. Same with all the types. There are many types that are obvious but many that also take things in a more conceptual direction that requires figurative application.

I think the reason people like Mega Evolving is also A) because it was the first of the regional "gimmicks" to be introduced, which made it feel less gimmicky, and B) Mega Evolving just feels like something that would be natural to the Pokemon world. Like, bonding with your Pokemon allows it to evolve again, temporarily, into an even more powerful form? That makes a lot more sense by the world's logic than, "Hey, your Pokemon just became bedazzled and its whole type changed."

Mega is also superior to gigantamax because you can do it EVERY BATTLE. Dynamax was super restricted. And Tera is fun but doesn't give nearly the same feel as megas do

On one hand, I think it would be easier to distribute a new type based off of man-made or digital Pokémon by labeling them an Artificial or Synthetic type. This would include the Porygon line, Mewtwo, Genesect, Type: Null & Silvally, and Magearna. You could then make a Relic type, which could act as an ancient counter-part to Synthetic Pokémon. Some candidates for a Relic type are any fossil Pokémon not introduced in Galar, Baltoy & Claydol, Golett & Golurk, the Regis, and Arceus. On the other hand, there would be overlap with several Pokémon that are Normal, Electric, Steel, Ground, Psychic, and/or Rock types. There's also the problems with how Synthetic or Relic would fit on the type chart, which moves besides Ancient Power would get their typing changed, what moves could be invented to fit into those categories, and whether you can design Pokémon based off of the newly-introduced type(s).

I think pokemon should go back to gym battles ot to something similare to pokemon cyrstal type of story. Most of the current pokemon are very cute and less mature as they used to be.

Honestly if they are an ancient breed, making a 3rd evolution for the female and a 2nd for the male Salandit that were too agressive would make sense, swapping fighting/ice/rock/ground/electric/grass or dragon would make sense for why the breed no longer appears in the present day habitat. OR make them evolve to ghost(or ghost like traits without the typing like the Charmander/Magikarp lines never become dragons) like Annihilape does and just say that the species lost the ability to haunt after "evolving" through death.

Im 26, have played and still own every Pokemon game since Silver some much more than others. SV is the only game I've never finished. I don't need the game to be amazing graphically, it just needs to run smoothly simple as that, flashing shadows, massive frame drops its just sad.

In order for light to work as a type you have to give it several concepts similar to how flying is both bird and wind type. Physical light like xurkitree and heliolisk, divinity such as arceus and UN, and then stuff like lycanrock that revolves around the time of day.

Out of all of those, the only ones i can see working are Ampharos, Volbeat and Illumise, Heliolisk and Cresselia. I mean... if we consider Cherrim, we also have to consider the likes of Espeon as well, since it evolves during the day (when its light outside). The same then applies also for Budew, Riolu, but also for the Pokemon that evolve during the night, since then you can make the argument they evolve due to the light of the moon.

What is cricketune got a swarm evolution kind of like WishyWashey but it was a swarm band of crickets playing different instruments and its ablity is to randomly switch to a different band member with the attack sp attack defense sp. Defense and speed changes with each band member design to be different instruments.

Rubber as a type grew on me, at first i thought it was silly but you know, its kinda like Steel type, i think rubber type could be a modern pokemon adaptation to the exposure to plastic in our modern world

I think Light type at this point is completelt covered by existing types, namely Electric, Fairy and yes, psychic. It's unnecessary to take away from those types

If we get z megas they could be the two secondary types of the Pokémon with green eyes. Charizard maybe takes dragon flying type from the other two megas.

I like the concept of a Cosmic-type more than the Sound-type. Sound-type is just Flying-type with extra steps.

I feel like adding a Cosmic type does basically nothing for the game other than remove the Psychic type from a bunch of Pokémon. Psychic already largely serves the function a Cosmic type would serve considering most of the Pokémon that would become Cosmic type are already Psychic type. Same goes for any kind of Light type which is functionally what the Fairy type is. Also it feels pretty obvious but Dialga isn’t the only dinosaur looking Pokémon to get the Dragon type, Tyrantrum has the same type for the same reason. There are several Pokémon that don’t look like a traditional western dragon but have the type because of what it’s based on. Not to mention that several dragon-like designs like Charizard and Gyarados aren’t dragons. By the logic of this video a third of the Pokédex needs their types changed because in your mind their type doesn’t match their aesthetics and Psychic doesn’t directly translate to space.

"We need a Cosmic-type" My brother in Christ, Psychic is the Cosmic-type. Almost every pokémon with a connection to space is made into a Psychic-type. It's like how Tyrantrum and the Paradox Legendary Beasts get labeled as Dragons, or how fungi, which are not plants, are still treated as Grass-types.

Like, the problem with the Sound type in general is - what is it going to be weak and strong against, since everything should be weak against Sound. Sound type, for a couple of Pokemon listed here, are problematic in its own way. Not because Sound might not fit them, but because they are too important to get a type change. Lets take Rillabbom and Primarina here - They will never get a type change/type added to them, because they are starters Jigglypuff line - already got a type added to them with Fairy, so they aren't getting a type change again, else they would have made them Pure Fairy if they wanted to get rid of the Normal type on them Meloetta is a Mythical Azelf is part of a trio, so if Azelf is getting a type change, so would Mesprit and Uxie (But they won't, because legendaries). Altaria and Audino have Mega's, so won't get a type change either. Lapras has a G-max, so won't get one either Kommo-o's design inspiration is that of a tribal warrior + its a Psuedo Dragon typing, with sound based moves that are also Dragon type. So it isn't getting a type change either. Toxtricity is the most problematic of them all here. If it gets the Sound type, you need to take its Poison or Electric typing and there instantly lies the problem - it has Toxic and Electricity in its name, if you take away one of those types, its naming convention doesn't make sense anymore + it has a G-Max. Galarian Zigzagoon is a regional form, so it makes no sense to give it the Sound type. Its the same with people who are wanting the Cosmic and Light typings. Cosmic typing is already covered with Psychic type and too a lesser extent Rock. Light typing is already in the game, but is called Fairy type. People only want Light because of Dark type, while Dark type is not called Dark type in Japan, but Evil type, so in a sense, Fairy makes more sense than Light.

New evolutions? Lol, no. What all these pokemon need are new REDESIGNS, because they all look cartoonishly goofy, and PG af. Pokemon are supposed to take inspiration off of real-life animals, right? So why not make 'em more realistic in design to match their animalistic traits? P.S. And I do agree on the Lapras being too girly, and nice... It seems like a common formula Nintendo had in making ALL its mons.

Sound can not be a type. You can’t balance it. Sound would be super effective against everything. But Electric, fire and poison. Sound can deafen any monster. Sonar is sound, so ground and water would be weak. Dark is weak due to echolocation. Sound can cripple builds, and trees. You can’t balance it.

Sound should stay as it is, a mechanic.

Sound as a type doesn't make sense, it's a medium for types to be executed. It's like saying "punching" should be a type because there's punching moves

ngl i really hate that type chart. Water is already good it shouldn't be strong against sound it should be weak to it. conversely psychic is terrible right now with fairy just being better overall. Offensively sound should be 2x water/steel for sure plus i like the electric idea youse have 1/2x bug/psychic/grass/poison defensivly resist water/steel/fairy weak too bug/electric/poison in terms of its self interaction i feel there are 2 routes to take it that'd be cool both based off sound waves interfering with each other. so either sound is weak to itself like dragon/ghost or sound is immune to itself

Im not the biggest Sound type supporter, but I do think the mechanic could be expanded with a status condition or something. It currently feels akin to stuff like Priority Moves and whatnot.

I’ve always wanted a sound type since I was a kid :D Sadly, I don’t think it’ll happen soon.
