Good video but The beggar is not their last album. Their next album “birthing” is coming out in 2025
you should listen to some of their live albums like deliquescence and live rope
Loved this video! I was really into Swans last year but haven’t listened to them much since, I’m excited to get back into their discog! Also they are releasing their final “big” album soon, Birthing, based on much of the live material from their last tour. Thanks for the great video, love hearing about Swans 🦢!
Blind. Where is the zappa stash. I subscribed for the zappa stash.
My personal fav is probably To Be Kind, the closing track of the same name, with my other two being from the same album. (Oxygen and Screenshot.) Love your content, king!!!!❤️
What a fantastic review on this property as a MOVIE. Some of these comments really lost thier shiz when you didn't see this movie through the same rose tinted glasses as they did!!!
I was subscribed for the zappastache and now im devastated Also The Glowing Man is by far my favorite song by swans, good to see it on the list

Pink Floyd: The Wall (1982)
Movie Musicals do a HORRIBLE job at translating the original instrumentals into their movies. It's a musical, how could the mess up the MUSIC. The original show did everything miles better, hoping to see it again soon.
As an additional note, WHO TF IS GONNA WATCH THIS MOVIE IN FULL?!?!? 6 hours of a 2.5 hour musical is insane. It's obviously done to make the most amount of money possible at the price of it being a timeless classic.
only 779 view says it all <3
I don't understand the hate from some of the comments. You are entitled to your own opinion and it's YOUR review of the film, not the other viewers. I agree with some of your points and others i might not see eye to eye, but i respect your video all the same. You did have some great points on why you didn't fully enjoy this film, and great points of what you respected about the film. If you don't agree with the creator of the video, THAT'S OKAY, but stop just saying it's a bad take, without providing valid criticism. Also just because he hasn't seen Wicked the Musical in theatres, does not disqualify him from having opinions or viewing the movie.
I was so ready to fight when i read the title but….turns out everything he said was based 🥲. To be clear i still enjoyed it tho! people saying he cant have an opinion because he was unfamiliar with the franchise is bullshit. If anything a viewer like that is less likely to be susceptible to bias. I think nostalgia might be my BIGGEST reason for enjoying the film. I can admit without that it doesn’t have much going for it
Well everyone has they’re own opinion….even if it’s a bad take..
heh 🤓☝.. everyone has the right to an opinion... even if its wrong 😡
Yeah this review is pretty bad because I like the movie
Just because you liked it, it doesn’t mean everyone will.
I agree with everything, like the video was finishing and then you introduce another thing I thought during the movie. For the fan phenomena I was expecting something a little more complex in respect to character evolution. Maybe there is more complexity in the books.

@@SkyesStupidity seems pretty mid
@harrison6517 this video? I thought u were defending it 😭
The entire video was null and void when you said “I’m completely unfamiliar with wicked as a property” you can’t call it Mid if you have no foundation to base it off of 😂😂.
If you can’t enjoy/understand a movie without having knowledge about the media it’s based on prior then it isn’t a good movie. A good movie is able to translate a book or musical onto the big screen for new audiences to enjoy while also pandering to the people who enjoy the previously stated media and are in the know-how. Will it enhance your watching if you know information on it before? Sure. But you not knowing the musical or having read the book shouldn’t define whether or not you can watch or enjoy the movie version. Not to mention adaptations can and will change details that aren’t even in the original story. Some adaptations completely change the story and it’s a loose interpretation.
I've been dragged to this musical multiple times as well as to the movie by my friend group. Because i did always like the wizard of oz and especially Return to oz movies growing up, you'd think I'd enjoy wicked. It's ok. I secretly don't care for it.
one of the dumbest reviews i've never watched honestly like 😭😭
Dude you didnt watch the video?
the number of views definitely reflects the opinions in this video..
One of your videos have 7 views
I'm not sure why it was suggested to me, but I am sad about this review - if you don't like live action musicals why would you review one? The people who have commented below saying that they won't see it based on your review is pretty heartbreaking as it is an absolute masterpiece and definitely worth seeing on the big screen. Did you take a pen and paper into the theatre and task yourself with noting down any single minor thing you could mention that wasn't to your taste, so you could come back with a laundry list? Because that's how this review sounds. In my opinion the movie is fantastic, completely exceeded expectations and it keeps your eyes entertained for nearly three hours. You said you might prefer the stage show - as you didn't like the movie you aren't going to like the play - it is much less visually entertaining and is for the first 2 hours the Shiz centred story line that you don't like. Obviously, you couldn't move past Adriana as a female popstar either - if you had been familiar with the stage show you would know that Glinda being super manipulative and self-centred is a major part of the plot line, you are missing the point of the storyline. No, you aren't supposed to like or care about her much at the end of the show. You are supposed to see her as manipulative, weak willed, self-centred and a bootlicker. This story is the origin story of the "Wicked Witch" and in the next part Glinda happy settles into being the wizards "good witch" which is a huge betrayal of her "best friend". She even gives away Elphaba's sisters shoes when Dorothy's house falls on her. Its sad that you weren't captivated by the story enough to enjoy it. It's not a male thing - I've watched it separately with my brother and another male friend, and they both managed to greatly enjoy it despite clearly not being the target market. They could embrace a massive, well thought out production that was produced to entertain them. You're even complaining about the animals? I completely disagree with every single thing you said about them. Their animation looked great, the chemistry with Elphaba and the professor was well as developed as it could be between a teacher and a student, and the animal's plight in the story line was even expanded upon from the stage play. Also, it's not only a prequel - the next part of the story takes part during the events of the Wizard of Oz movie - but from the Witches perspective. So, you aren't even grasping the basic premise of the storyline in this review. Probably because you were writing your laundry list instead of paying attention. Your comments: "There are ways to do this subtly and quickly" just shows you weren't there to enjoy the performances at all, which are meant to be grand and you just wanted the movie over already. I didn't feel like that even a little bit and I have seen it twice. "When it inevitably gets nominated for like 10 Oscars" just shows you know it is hugely Oscar worthy, but you are being a Negative Nancy because your specific personal preferences are not the target market. I'm honestly surprised you didn't connect with Glinda because you demonstrate similar personality traits. Being a critic means thinking critically and considering multiple viewer perspectives - not simply being negative and critical from your own perspective.
U CLOCKED U DELIVERED AND I FEEL THE SAME WAY
Oh, the irony of someone who uploads soulless AI-generated 'content' trying to lecture about authenticity and passion. Maybe instead of whining about the review, you could train your AI to recognize when it's time to stop embarrassing yourself. It’s cute that you’re so deeply invested in live-action musicals, but calling it a 'masterpiece' doesn’t make it one. The job of a reviewer is to critique, not to write fanfiction about how perfect every film is. Maybe spend less time defending movies and more time figuring out why your videos have all the personality of a ChatGPT output on shuffle.
@@harrison6517 don’t be a creep. I made like 3 videos in one day and you’re comparing my content to multi million dollar productions? Im flattered. However I am a real person, I just wanted to share the knowledge I have built on how to leverage it. Are you intending to be a Luddite regarding AI? If so you also are not the target market, and also stan-ing and white knighting for a random RUclipsr is kind of cringe, do you know him in real life or just parasocially?
@@NotNormalNoodle Your statement touches on several points that warrant scrutiny, as they rely on rhetorical tactics that may not stand up to closer examination. Below is a response addressing each element of your statement: "Don’t be a creep." This opening is an ad hominem attack, attempting to dismiss criticism by attacking the character of the person offering it rather than addressing the substance of their argument. This tactic undermines the potential for a productive discussion. Labeling someone a "creep" without evidence also risks alienating them rather than inviting a meaningful dialogue. "I made like 3 videos in one day and you’re comparing my content to multi-million-dollar productions?" This response introduces a strawman fallacy. While it may be true that your content is less resource-intensive than high-budget productions, this comparison evades the actual critique, which likely pertains to quality, accuracy, or presentation rather than budget. The intent of the critique was probably to hold the ideas or execution to a high standard, not to unfairly contrast it with blockbuster content. "I’m flattered." While this comment is polite, it subtly deflects the critique without addressing its merits. Flattery in this context appears dismissive, redirecting attention from the critique to your emotional response. "However, I am a real person, I just wanted to share the knowledge I have built on how to leverage it." This statement contains an appeal to pathos, emphasizing your humanity to elicit sympathy or leniency. While acknowledging one's humanity is valid, it does not necessarily validate the knowledge being shared or negate criticism. Expertise should be substantiated by evidence, not just intent or identity. "Are you intending to be a Luddite regarding AI?" This question employs a loaded term-Luddite-which carries negative connotations of being anti-progress or technophobic. Using such labels can be a false dichotomy, suggesting that the critique implies a wholesale rejection of AI rather than a nuanced concern about specific applications or implications. If so, you are also not the target market." Dismissing critics as outside the target audience is a weak rebuttal. It assumes that feedback from those who may not align with your intended demographic is irrelevant, which ignores the potential value of diverse perspectives. Constructive criticism often comes from unexpected sources. "Stan-ing and white-knighting for a random RUclipsr is kind of cringe." This statement includes multiple logical fallacies: Ad hominem: Labeling the critic’s behavior as “cringe” undermines the discussion by attacking their actions or intentions instead of engaging with their points.Appeal to ridicule: Deriding someone for supporting another content creator diminishes the argument without refuting it logically. False equivalence: Suggesting that supporting a RUclipsr equates to “stan-ing” or “white-knighting” oversimplifies and distorts their intentions. Do you know him in real life or just parasocially?" This question subtly shifts the focus from the content of the critique to the critic’s relationship with another person. It employs an irrelevant premise (the nature of the relationship) to diminish the validity of the critique. A point’s validity does not depend on personal connections. Rather than engaging in personal attacks or rhetorical deflections, consider addressing the specific critiques with evidence and reasoned arguments. This approach fosters constructive dialogue, demonstrating a willingness to engage with diverse perspectives and improve based on meaningful feedback.

lol its not mid, moana 2 is literally more mid than that.
More than one movie can be mid simultaneously, I haven’t seen Moana 2 but I’m sure it’s far worse than Wicked
You complain so damn much holy shit
We have the same rating, but I will say, give the original musical a watch, it’s so much more emotionally affective and very human compared to this very underwhelming blockbuster experience.

Hold up, I respect your opinion, but you can't speak for everyone or as a fact that "he sees it as it is" which is his view, not a fact. I enjoyed it and had a different perspective
I think the story is even deeper than this. The part where we see his face for a moment. When the mirror turns. Now either he got his face messed up by his drunk wife or it's how Claire sees him. Im inclined to believe the drunken wife did something cuz in her song we see flashes of her throwing something. I think her dad was nice but was made bad by what the wife did. In the dads song he got turned down. But how? Clearly not romanticly cuz married so it must be a job thing. His dress seems business man, which if your a suit that meets face to face with clients. Well a fucked up face tends to put a wet blanket on things. Think American psycho business man. And this guy does fucked up shit so im inclined to believe this is true.

The family on the billboard is the same, younger version of Claire's. It portrays all of them years before. She chose the name Opal to better link with her delusion

Also, you can't separate anything from GOLB. Once something becomes part of it, it's always been part of it, meaning they're essentially erased and never existed as a separate entity. Going back in time wouldn't help, because GOLB is outside of time and space. It's a chaos entity, so whatever happens in it isn't supposed to make any sense. That's why Simon reset and reverted with all his memories without dying. Chaos doesn't follow any rules, cause it's the complete opposite of order. GOLB is literal entropy.
What gets me is that everyone talks about how Betty sacrificed but not about how Simon sacrificed for her and supported her ideas. He literally sacrificed his one chance to be free in death from the crown and being Ice King just so Betty can try to save him from the crown. She literally begged him to be Ice King a little longer, so she can save him and free him. Her not going on her trip was HER decision, not a sacrifice. Simon can't get on the bus with get, because the trip was only funded for BETTY. He just went to let her know he fell in love with her, too. She could've still gone on her trip and kept in touch with him or postpone it, establish the relationship and go on the trip later! Even in the Jerry episode of Fionna and Cake, it shows during their expedition for the Enchiridion that he still supported her ideas during the trip (such as how they crossed the river and the snakes) and PROTESTED when she told him to go on without her and take the credit, because he points out he wouldn't have found it without her help. But the Cheers episode of Fionna and Cake completely contradicts everything and tries to paint Simon as being at fault, ESPECIALLY since Betty even said that they BOTH made their choices, but she doesn't have any regrets. Even Betty wasn't blaming him or anything. The Casper and Nova but was unnecessary, because literally no one was at fault. Yes, Simon and Betty were both self-sacrificial to a fault and needed to learn to live for themselves, not other people, BUT that still wouldn't gave changed the fact that they feel victim to fate as well as the war, things completely out of their control, regardless of their relationship. They were literally happy together until they ended up in the middle of a curse and a war.
Nice to hear you again, man. Michael said a pretty interesting detail about using experiences from another universes. I guess, you already watch this part. And... Do you like his version of Simon's ending? I like it, even when it has flaws, like separation of GOLB and Betty. But he's explained that if Simon freed Betty from GOLB, that's will create a really bad consequence - destruction of Fionna-world. And also i like his option of Simon moving from OOO to Fionna-world. And.... Do you see my big comment about how i can use C&N? I know, it's clumzy, but still.....
@@КатяКалинина-х6м I don't agree with the idea of him moving to Fionna-World. He literally wouldn't know anyone there besides Fionna and Cake. He'd miss seeing Marceline, Finn and Bonnie. What about the other friends he made as Ice King? Lady Island, the wizards, Gunter, etc. Also, him separating Betty from GOLB us impossible, cause she literally IS GOLB.
@auburneytuckerson2959 oh, yeah, that's make sense. But still an interesting way for me.
But, man.... I really don't understand, why creators forget everything, what they previously created (it's about Simon and Betty's previous established personalities, of course)
@КатяКалинина-х6м IKR!
