    Good stuff. I've got the same car. Same hood. Wanted to install the same hood pins. Was curious how they'd sit on the hood since the mounting area is not totally flat. This answered the question. Thx for the vid.

    Bro how long are those hood pins? I'm having the hardest time installing hood pins on mine. I installed them on the exact same spot you did but the pins seem to be too short to protrude from my hood where I need to lock them.

    • @al151
      @al151 2 года назад

      You bought the wrong Borla exhaust. Why would you pay for a CF tip exhaust without doing a research? Those tips need constant adjustment due to sudden extraction and contraction during heat and cold cycles. Borla still sounds the best and on par with Corsa. MBRP, AWE, Magnaflow, Flowmaster and other brands can’t come close to Borla quality and reliability in the long run. In fact Borla makes the Camaro Performance exhausts for Chevy, they are just rebranded. Your MBRP will drone and fall apart in no time.

    • @silverfox392
      @silverfox392 Год назад

      @@al151 the issue is their choice to rivet the metal mounting plate to the actual exhaust tip. That’s not an adjustment, that’s a pain in the ass as you have to remove the tips, old rivet, and then redo it. The screws coming loose, as I mentioned in the video, aren’t a bit deal. Loctite had helped a bit but doesn’t completely solve the issue with the screws. However I fully expected to be retightening them every so often. That being said, the the mounting bracket should have been welded onto the tips, not riveted. Poor design choice imo. Then there’s the packaging, the packaging is terrible. Borla and MBRP use the same grade stainless steel, both looked to have good welds. I don’t foresee either having trouble “lasting” over the lifetime of a vehicle they are installed on. Both exhausts had slight drone at a certain RPM. The MBRP had a lower tone, which was also my preference. The Borla is a raspier race car sound. Some will like one more than the other At the end of the day, my opinion having owned both, is that the Borla exhaust was not worth the msrp. Just my opinion based on my own observations and experience having both for a while.

      Everyone has their personal preferences. I certainly wasn’t trying to tell people what they should buy, just helping people make the better choice for them. I will say I was disappointed with the quality for price of the Borla. I l’ve had a few products from them over the years and they were always top notch, not sure if I got a bad kit or if they are just slackin now but that was just my observation. The iPhone doesn’t really do a good job of capturing the difference between the two, if I had to describe them the Borla had a rhaspier race car sound where as the mbrp had a lower more “muscle car” tone to it.

    • @thecamarochronicles9911
      @thecamarochronicles9911 3 года назад

      The MBRP does not retain the NPP valves, whereas Borla and Corsa both offer versions that do - for a price lol They worked ok, didn't make a huge difference in how loud the car was with my setup. I could see it working better (more like the stock setup) on a car without a full exhaust system and engine work like mine has. Most versions of these exhausts come with adaptors to stop a code being thrown if you choose one that does t have the NPP valves.

      @@thecamarochronicles9911 I have a 19.zl1 head and cam, headers, X pipe into my factory cat. When I close the valve, it quiets the car a lot. It's for the neighborhood, not me. But, the factory cat seems big and heavy, so I wanted to find something better. Thanks. Real great video

    • @thecamarochronicles9911
      @thecamarochronicles9911 3 года назад

      @MJ C yeah understandable. I'm lucky and don't have to worry about neighbor aggro lol I just keep the rpms low when in neighborhoods to be respectful. Replacing the cat makes a huge difference in the decibel level. I have a "performance" cat which is basically just for show if someone peeps under the car lol I like the sound from the Corsa line better than the Borla, if you need/want the NPP valves I might suggest going with them. They also have a throatier sound to them. The borla is more of a higher pitched race car sound if that makes sense.

      @@V.VIIIBeanman all I can say is this car came stock with the reverse camera on the trunk above the license plate. The shark fin camera was a GM OEM upgrade I installed along with the GM OEM rear view mirror to enable the live view rearview mirror. When the car was put in reverse the infotainment would show the backup camera which was attached to the trunk lid (this was all stock from the day it was purchased) The rearview mirror was a full time rear camera which was an aftermarket installation using GM OEM parts from Gen5DIY which replaced the standard shark fin antenna for one with a camera. GM made a few mid-year changes to the 2019 SS models but I can’t say what those were beyond the front fascia redesign Edit: I believe the convertibles had their cameras in the spoiler.
