If you kool with working 14-16 physical hours a day b my guest. Routes don’t really pay a lot only reason we make good money is because of our hours. It’s other food service companies you can go to that’ll pay you more or the same but work you less hours and not as hard

bro they hired me fresh out of cdl school was there 2 years they put you through hell of work it can be extremely physical and leave you sore but paid good left after i got my tanker and hazmat honestly would never go back too much stress

Yes makes no sense they seen your application and then did phone interview. Then once you show up they say you need experience. I would not of been happy.

Unfortunately, a lot of local gigs will be VERY PICKY (yes, even food service that’ll “hire anybody”) when it comes to hiring OTR drivers wanting to transition to local. I’ve seen guys at my company literally BEG for a position, just to burn out in 3-6 months and end up back OTR. The average OTR job today is basically hitting a dock at a DC that is the size of a small town and just lay in the sleeper till the light turns green. Local, on the other hand can be VERY stressful, you end up working even longer hours than OTR and have to deal with stuff like backing into a business from the street just to deliver a box that could’ve easily fitted in the trunk of a Corolla. Sure, if you have a family, you absolutely want to be local even if it comes with a pay cut. I personally would get 2 jobs if every local gig in town was to disappear before I ever considered OTR.

They probably had other interviews set up. If there was another person with experience who applied, they are most likely going to choose the one who has experience over the one who doesn’t.

Trans ams Company side was actually better than the company I’m at now though. They let us take split brakes at trans am, PC places for food, and didn’t have driver facing cams. This new company im at (rhoel) doesn’t allow those and has driver facing cams and harras you whenever you drift over a white line, speed a little or anything

I got finessed to quit 5 months into my 6 month lease, they lied about something being on my driving record, once I quit they lied about me being able to get my job back and also put a safety incident on my cdl record. I wouldn’t go with transam or recommend them at all. Money fluctuated drastically, I was IC and they didn’t care if I asked for a relay for more miles or anything I asked for. The detention pay or pay for sitting fluctuated and sometimes I wouldn’t even get it 😂 this company is a joke and they have various lawsuits against them.
