Screamo/Emocore Mixtape
Просмотров 31 тыс.7 лет назад
yeah so i made an emo mix a couple years ago as a gag gift for a friend of mine who hates emo and not really thinking i also uploaded it onto youtube and now it has over 100k views and actual fans and whatnot so i figured i should probably make a second one. once again i don't own any of this nor did i get permission from the artists but i did compile a unique playlist out of existing material,...
Midwest Emo/Emo Revival Mixtape

I own none of the sounds in this video so if RUclips flags it and takes it down then sorry, folks. I did however compile the songs and sounds into a new artistic expression that has more meaning than any of them do individually out of context, if that counts for anything (does it?) so yeah. If you like what you hear i encourage you buy the music because it's rad cool, maybe on bandcamp or some ...
this mixtape is so important to 2018's me
This mix was/is so important to me. This mix introduced me to Algernon Cadwallader! Now one of my favorite bands and I luckily had the pleasure of seeing live after their hiatus. Thank you for sharing this. I made my very own mix, if anyone wants to check it out. 😊
makes me wish my lawn was emo
when i was 18 i used to listen to this mix tape all of the time. man good times, now i'm 23 now gonna turn 24 in a couple of months. life has changed a lot, miss the simpler times but things aren't so bad now. i got my own place finally lol
I found this mix when i was in middle school and i still come back and listen to it at least a couple times each year. it’s gotten me through lots of tough times and it’s very special to me, thanks for putting it together!
26 no life, just want to make music, suck at guitar, alright with making beats, lyrics just come to me, never fit in even when trying, everything feels fake, my life feels like a lie, wish I could drop everything and just drive away, no car, dead end job, studio apartment, a relationship idk to consider toxic, I’m lost, all my friends moved or passed away, I’m broken dude
What’s the first song called 😅
Movies Like Juno by Midwest Pen Pals. The voiceovers from the movie were added by the uploader of this mixtape and are not in the studio version
@@quinnobropta2539 thank you 🙏🏼
This is literally the seminal midwest emo playlist
The Queen has returned
this music gives me the feeling of nostalgia and sadness that i cant explain, im not an adult but i feel like ive been missing so many things ..
Found this mixtape a year ago when i was 15 the time i got dumped by the coolest girl lmao. Now i just sit in my room and play guitar everyday. I always think about her listening to this.
There’s something about this mix that takes me somewhere…
Two years later: I am still studying and listening to this. I still have four more years to go. So please do not ever delete this mix. And this is coming from a punker. I just love this emo mix. Stay up and if you ever play a show in LA, CA. I will go to your show and meet you in person. Stay up, Miss Hardee.
Found this mixtape when I was 19 and delivering pizzas full time. Im 23 now and still come back. Thanks to the uploader for showing me a new side of emo that I have been loving ever since. Midwest emo for life. As a guitar player the crazy arppegiated riffs and open tunings are ear pleasing hella. Midwest emo is just the emo kids who found jazz chords
I won't say this started it all, but boy did play a pivotal role. I accidentally started listening to ( and liking) Michael Cera's actual music because of this. Old grey instantly won me over and the only band from this mix that I actively still search for. Thanks for the core memory.
This defined a generation
I'M INLOVE WITJH MIDWEST EMO..
crazy ive been listening to this video since high school and now im almost 24
if you look hard enough, that background looks like high heels man.... ohhh
big sad
if this ever got removed I would literally cry
I'm a northern Californian man who went to high school in the early to mid 2000s. Enlisted in the military during the Iraq war. Midwest emo was my savior during the hard times.
I like this a lot wow
I stumbled onto this playlist in 2017, and my life has never been the same ever since
we are so back >:)
LETS FUCKING GO ZOE!!!
Does anyone know where the bits between the songs come from? All these out of context references make me want to watch wherever it came from.
I know that atleast the first one in from Juno, with michael cera in it
I'm happines Ford thus album

I don‘t wanna fcking work man I wanna go into forests …
Crazy to think a year ago i got this playlist in my recommended and then heard the first song and from then got into midwest emo :)
Tax Midterm tomorrow. Studying to this for good luck
If I never discovered this I would’ve never become emo
this changed me man
The pandemic took away from me what should have been my best years of high school, almost three lost years, but still listening to this music is like reliving a time that I never experienced, things like going out more with friends, experiencing new things, falling in love with someone like and who can be in front of me, have a band, Idk that kind of things, but now however I have to live "the difficult part" of life without having experienced the best, that's why this kind of music. It is reconfortable... ..
as someone who had their ages of 19, 20, and 21 ruined by the lasting affects of the pandemic ill say this: while covid-19 had stopped time in place, held it there and dropped it so far that it shattered? there will come a time when you can sort of revisit and pick up those pieces. i know i have, i know my friends and family have, and i know you will too. luv, dirk.fx
It’s Super Bowl Sunday. I’m living alone. It’s cold outside and raining. The coffee is brewing and the cigarette is fuming. Somewhere between peace and turmoil. I’ll be ok. And if not. That’s okay too.
I made an entire list of all 16 songs on here and then highlighted it to ctrl v here but accidentally clicked 'i' on my keyboard and lost everything. That abt sums up my feeling when listening to midwest emo. Lost memories, fleeting mistakes.
Oh my god. This video is like a baptism for midwest emo now.
it’s crazy how this playlist has become an integral part of midwest emo culture
Oh, so this is what Kita meant
I'm drunk as fuck and wondering why I'm the way the way that I am
this video solely altered my brain chemistry
This playlist makes me feel like life's worth living. Accepting the emotion, not knowing what's around the corner; just go with it and have fun <3
I aant a shirt with this design
This mixtape makes me reminisce all my teenage years, and currently what I have going on. Going to local shows, smoking cigarettes and getting drunk with friends while running around train tracks, writing poems about people who have fucked with my head, fucked up chucks, and creating drum fills for all the sad songs me and my bandmates make. Will it always be like this? Or one day will I look back and wish I was where I am now
Midwest pen pals is the shit
you should make another emo revival mixtape
I made a skramz mixtape few years ago that got taken down for copyright, kinda dissuaded me from making more. Been considering returning for years but I feel like mixtapes on YT have taken on a life of their own since 2015. I don't listen to much emo anymore anyway, my main interests lately are vaporwave, breakcore, liminal spaces, but I feel like those styles are oversaturated as it is and I have nothing to add to the conversation. But maybe I'll make a 5th wave emo mixtape someday idk
tiktok bought me here
