Midwest emo for life. As a guitar player the crazy arppegiated riffs and open tunings are ear pleasing hella. Midwest emo is just the emo kids who found jazz chords

I won't say this started it all, but boy did play a pivotal role. I accidentally started listening to ( and liking) Michael Cera's actual music because of this. Old grey instantly won me over and the only band from this mix that I actively still search for. Thanks for the core memory.

I'm a northern Californian man who went to high school in the early to mid 2000s. Enlisted in the military during the Iraq war. Midwest emo was my savior during the hard times.
