This FT-757 GX has issue of right receive frequency. It is receiving stations around 600Hz below over different bands. I tried to follow the alignment procedure as per Service Manuel. My experience shared here. Tnx es 73 de VU2KPU Prakash

ICOM IC-725 S-Meter adjustment

Hi Good day, Here an attempt to align / adjust an old ICOM IC-725 S-Meter. The meter was not reading/working according to Signal Strength. In this video the adjustment is procedure is not done with a Signal Generator, however a simple quick test done with band noise level as reference at the test period. Thanks & 73 de VU2KPU Prakash

Yaesu FT-757GX was QRT., Not powering ON. Quick short video after restoration. Steps followed: 1) Noticed a Tantalum capacitor (C27) was damaged in PA Unit. Replaced all 6 tantalums. 2) Main Power ON relay not working, replaced diodes D12 PWR ON Rev voltage isolator, D10 Relay back pulse canceller & Transistor Q10 Relay driver. Finally, the rig is back into operation. Comparing its RX together ...

A bad contact due the oxidisation is a typical problem not only in FT-757GX, but in many old models. Some of them works well after only a few triming moves, some need a chemical cleaning with "Contaclean" or other similar spray, depending a capacitor type. Few years ago I replaced a 3 trimming capacitors in a FT-767GX because they were uncleanable.
This helped me quickly repair my FT-757 GX II. Thanks so much for supplying your troubleshooting knowledge to save others a ton of time!

Why do you not use internal generator 25khz on cw-n and s-meter level? It will be easier to drive.
FT-757GX have a digitally controlled PLL, working from one reference oscillator. This model have no internal calibrator. Only an older radios with mechanical VFOs have them. And need check and trimming with the same method.
Ok, but you can try nanovna stimulus-start 14mhz-stop 14mhz generator on radio input with ATT ON. Work good for me.@@inboxpm

Dear Matt, Good day, Pls Try 2 actions: 1) Replace all Existing Tantalum Capacitors on PA Unit with any brand Electrolytic Capacitors 10mfd 35V or above. And try Power On Rig, if did not work, you need to check Relay coil & power supply circuit for Power On Relay operation. 2) For Power On Relay function circuit the components you need to check and replace are a) Q10 Transistor 2SD892R or any simple NPN transistor can work. b) D10 & D12 Diodes Si 1S1555 or use any high speed Diodes 1N 4148 The second action may not be require for many cases. Hi, I used a normal Lithium battery 3V CR2032 with wire and connector type from computer accessories shop. (You may use a Coin Cell Holder from online Amazon).

What voltage are the original bulbs? Did you put your own resistors on the LEDs, or did you buy voltage-specific LEDs?
Old bulbs are 12V. For LEDs resistor used in series.
V=RI it is the most basic stuff.
I just did this same mod on mine, used 3v leds, with a 470 ohm resistor in series, worked very nicely!! Original lights ran at the same voltage as the radio, 12-13.8 or whatever your input is.
