Currently tapering off right now. I've been on as high as 45mg but it really wrecked my sleep. Back down to 30 and that seemed like the sweet spot for about a year. Didn't have any withdrawls going down in dose from 45 to 30. But I'm ready to come off for good. I've been shaving the pills down with a razor blade and weighing each pill to be more precise. Going from 30mg all the way to 2.5mg by increments of 5-ish mgs. I've got about 8-10 pills per taper ready to go. I'm hoping to be totally free from Mirtazepine in about 60-70 days. I got off Lexapro years ago with a much less scientific approach. I'd basically go cold turkey for as long as I could stand it, take a pill and then try to beat that previous streak without meds. Then I cut the pills in half and tried to do the same thing again until one day I stopped having withdrawl symptoms. Probably took about 5 weeks to completely come off.

What you mention about finding it easier to switch off resonates. I am prescribed for nerve pain and although I cant fully say it relieves physical pain, it does help my mind switch off from what im feeling/ restless sensations. I too have struggled with anxiety and found strains containing high amounts of limonene (dominant terpene) increase my anxiety nearly every time. Ive found that strains containing myrcene seem to suit me well. Not only do they help my mind switch off, I feel calm and balanced overall. (Imagine a warm hug) Its taken a little while to work out strength/ terpene profiles and doses but I feel as if ive made progress. Good luck with your journey.

Sorry to hear that. The only thing I would note with that, is that I think if I were still on benzos or z drugs & alcohol, I would definitely have preferred to have the right diet in place, as I suspect it will help reduce the withdrawal symptoms and possibly desire to use them. Gut bacteria can be very powerful. There are certainly stories of people that have been addicted to multiple things and gone keto for example and experienced major benefits, I remember a woman had schizophrenia for 30 years and had dramatic improvement on carnivore for example. So I wouldn't underestimate it. I'll definitely update on meals! I haven't actually started animal based yet, as I have been eating 'normal' for the past few days.... but I'm about to do a 24 hour juice cleanse, and then start meat+fruit. It seems so taboo to admit these things but I had serious intrusive thoughts all of last week; and just losing my shit over the smallest thing. Feeling extremely tearful/upset. Essentially have been drinking every day for two/three years and been on zops for 5 years. I ran out last week and I stopped alcohol cold turkey. I'm over the worst of any alcohol withdrawal now but I shall have to seek better coping mechanisms now that I don't have booze to calm me down. It is very very difficult and GPs haven't been helpful at all. I find they just give out the usual platitudes and signposting to CBT/talking therapy and like to push the responsibility elsewhere. I'm just so done with feeling s**t and depressed. I feel exhausted from researching and trying to fix myself. Thank you for posting your vids. They are very relatable and helpful

In terms of specific diet, during my own withdrawal, not really. However avoiding excess sugar is important. I'm currently following a protocol detailed by Dr. Frank Lipman in his book 'Revive', which basically entails having an avocado w/ powdered greens smoothie each morning along with L-glutamine. This is along with cutting out all processed foods & only eating whole foods. In the past I have failed to maintain a good diet, as I almost always ended up eating brownies & pizzas on the weekend, or when eating out. This time around I'm trying harder though.

Great to see you back I'd love to try a juice cleanse for healing. I'm currently having several health issues in relation to zopiclone/antihistamine use. I wondered whether you'd try animal/carnivore based diets for healing. It seems quite the fad atm but I have seen some people reverse autoimmune conditions. If I had the money I would try and see a natural doctor. Unfortunately as I'm unemployed that won't happen yet and it will have to be trial and error btw; I'm a medical cannabis patient now. I was given quite a strong oil but going to ask for a more balanced strain as my tolerance to THC is very low. Would be good to see an update! I hope your healing really begins soon and that you're keeping well

I haven't tried animal/carnivore diet yet, however I have spoken to Shawn Baker (author of "The Carnivore Diet") in one of his interviews, along with other carnivores. The stories have been very interesting and am considering it in future. I would recommend looking at Lauren Knight Hughes channel if you haven't already. Congratulations on the medical cannabis. I'm not currently using medical cannabis, as recently I had some kind of respiratory infection which seems to persist in the background. For the time being I have stopped. I feel like I also wasn't getting the results I'd hoped for, although perhaps I needed something different.
