I also really like his vocals and the style of Gothic Southern feel Metal! Do you like the last Wayfarer album called American Gothic? It’s fantastic with a reminiscent feel to Tribulation though more on the black Metal side which I prefer. I’ll check the singer you’re mentioning, that doesn’t ring a bell. They are very consistent with banger after banger, nothing really new but the recipe is very efficient 🤘🏼🫠! I loved the first New Horizon album with Erik Gronvall and I’ve listen two tracks of the second with Nils on vocal, they were definitely rocking 🖤! Stick around a bit if you liked that video 🙃

I’ve been listening to this monster of an album a lot to prepare for the interview with Karl, I don’t take Nile lightly haha. I think I’ll do a review of the record though since I know it quite well already! You can’t wait to listen to the second half of the album with the 2 longer songs, wonderful stuff 🤘🏼

As for my top three....I've always been in the minority when it comes to 'fan favorites', since I label your #1 and 3 pick as such (awesome records.....the first time I saw Nile live they were promoting TWTGD). For me, it's At the Gate of Sethu (underrated) at 3, In Their Darkened Shrines at 2, and my personal favorite DM of all time Ithyphallic (very underrated) at 1. Cheers, liking the dialogue.

I can tell you after listening to the whole album 7 times, it’s up there close to the top 3! Their discography is so strong that I’m not surprised your top 3 is different than mine except for In Their Darkened Shrines! ​@@metalanthology Appreciate the feedback for sure. I've heard negative comments on Sethu mainly due to production (but all I've read by Karl was that it was intentionally 'crisp/clean' and I agree, and IMO the writing is SO creative and varied). And the same for Ithypyhallic...there were gripes about the sound, but I've always loved it...just pommeling yet catchy.

I did listen back today both records since it has been few years since my last spin. Ithyphallic has its moments, slower in general, I really like the 2 longest tracks. Sethu was better than in my memories though, it was a really pleasant listening session and I even pushed play again when it ended, I tend to agree it’s quite underrated now, thanks for sharing your opinion on this 🤘🏼🖤🙂

Reckoning Night is very close to Silence indeed, perfect album too, some of the very songs on it like White Pearl, My Selene and Misplaced 😊🤌🏼

I don’t think so, there’s actually some similarities between punk rock and some black metal types of riffs. Just the upbeat drumming, not the blast beats obviously but the energetic ones with the fast picking chords can be quite close sometimes except the choice of chords that are very different 🤘🏼!
