How to replace timing belt/water pump for a Honda Acty (E07A Engine)
Просмотров 25 тыс.5 лет назад
Disclaimer: I am not a professional mechanic. I made this video only because nothing else like it exists on the E07A engine or Honda Actys in general. Make sure to use a jack stand! I didn't say that till halfway through the video. But it's always important whenever you are working under a car. Also, for refilling the coolant, make sure you fill it up, then crack open one of the bolts on the ra...
Should you buy a Honda Acty Street Van? (Kei car review)

Update: Seats do actually adjust more. Lever was hidden under the seat belt buckle. This car surprises me more and more every day!
No no no, we want the "performance driving review" obviously. Where is the 0=60 and braking distance? Where is the handling around cones and on an Icelandic Glacier?!!?!?!?? Did you even watch motorweek when you were two years old, bro? I came here to see the camel trophy 4x4 review, not to hear about practicality, duh.
"I broke my back a couple years ago, and drove from Florida to Pittsburgh in an Acty Street Van, and it was nice" - WOW; don't watch any other Acty Review - this is where it's at. 👏
Quick question just got my 97 smd ive topped out on speed past thr 120 km lol but whats the top speed on this ive only hit up to 65 😅
Usually I kept it at 100km or lower. Definitely not for most US highways.
I want one but I also don't want strangers to talk to me all the time. That happened a lot when I had my Maverick. My wife quit driving it because of that. lol
Great review. I want one for a little camping van for us and the dog.
You had no problems with Pa registration and inspection?
Decent video. But 6K is expensive? Where can you buy any car that gets 30 mpg with under 60H miles for 6K?
"Maybe I just jinxed myself and this will be the end of me but at least I'll be having a good time until that" haha but seriously this video was way helpful in thinking about purchasing one of these. Lots of questions answered! Thanks bro
Finally someone being honest about it I’m curious how it’s held up over the years for you
Had headgasket failure at 60k miles. Don't know if that is normal or not but I switched to a daihatsu and have been happy with it!
How long did it take for you to realize you’re not actually getting anywhere near 40-50 mpg
Interesting about the highway performance. Most people you ask are so clueless they just say it can't do highways but I think 99% of them don't have a tach or understand powerband and just shift when it "gets loud" so they think it's about 1/3 as quick/fast as it is. It's still slow, but it's MUCH faster if driven correctly based on some Japanese videos I've seen with people that know what they're doing. It actually seems pretty peppy up to about 45, which can get you enough of a lead to buy some time to creep up the rest of the way to 60-65 mph. The more I research kei cars, the more it seems Japanese makers knew people were going to have to flog them to get power so they built them really stout to handle the constant higher revs. I mean, there are 650-ish cc 3-4 cylinder motorcycles that highway commute daily at 7k+ RPM without issue, so I don't see why it would suddenly be a problem when it's put in a van. I think a lot of youtubers/social media people are buying cheap crap cars with known problems and blowing them up for "look at me" content. Much more exciting to see a blown engine than "boy, this thing just works!".
Size belt 155x24?
Thanks for the info and the video. I'm waiting for mine to arrive at the port. Can't wait. I'm using mine for business use and advertisement too so I'm super excited. Enjoyed the video
Any issues to register?
What about gas mileage
I'm looking to buy one for my business. They're adorable, but another reviewer says it sucks on the freeway. Do you still like yours?
I've owned a lot of mini trucks by now. Overall, they are totally fine on highways with speed limits up to 65 mph. All our highways around here are 55-65, I never feel that unsafe. Going on massive interstates where limit is 70 and people go 90, no way.
@@pittsburghgooddeeds6153 I’m in California and most go 65-80
Please tell the crank seal numners written on seal or seal number
Love the Honda Street. I would like to make an electric version. New Sub /cheers ScrapBongo
Are these allowed in the highway??
Where did you buy yours ?
If you want to just check the status of your belts , I believe you can pop the round cap off above the dipstick and underneath are your belts. I just saw a picture in my Japanese manual.
45-50 MPG? DID I HEAR THAT RIGHT?
Yeah did I hear that too!??
Amazing video. Find your review really in depth. Totally loved it. I have a question… so i would love to own one of this beauties and would like to know whats the price range on one of this. Again, great video and even more amazing ride. Hope to hear from you soon. Love from PR 🇵🇷
Ghaltee SA bhe na Lena ma na lê or pachtata raha
Great video! I was able to complete the job after watching your video. I would like to add that there are two covers for the timing belt on my HA3, a small rounded one that goes in from the top and a larger one that goes in from the bottom. The top one goes in first. Its rounded edge goes into a lip by pushing towards 10 o'clock. It also has a rubber gasket that clips to the edge that goes into the lip. You have to put the gasket on the edge before inserting into lip. The motor mount bolt at 10 o'clock can't be removed/inserted without being in the motor mount, so this is the last bolt to be removed and the first to be installed for the mount. Keep your jack under the engine because you will be raising and lowering the engine numerous times to access the bolts. I had to buy a straight handle 12 mm ratchet wrench to remove the alternator bolt from the top. Then an offset 14 mm wrench to remove the last bolt from the mount from the bottom. It is so tight in there that it is hard to get leverage. So I wrapped a ratchet strap around the alternator pulley and a hook to the other end of the wrench and pulled it loose.
How did you get the fan/pulley/alternator belt off? Not sure if i am missing something but it does not come off
There's a tensioner on the alternator. You have to loosen that bolt and then the alternator comes down and the belt can come off.
@@pittsburghgooddeeds6153 Is it possible that the crank bolt was placed over my alternator/crank pulley? I removed the 4 10mm bolts, the fan, but the pulley itself does not budge at all I have a 95 Acty Street By alternator tensioner, do you mean the adjustment bolt that goes attached to the motor mount? Thank you for the help!
@@danielsentrik Did you figure this out, I believe I'm having the same issue after romving the 4 10mm bolts I cant pop the pulley off
@Tyler Littleton what model Acty do you have? I figured out mine is slightly different. I have a 95 Acty Street, Automatic with AC. With my model, that fan thing is a much heavier/sturdier piece. It's more of a harmonic balancer. And the crank bolt is holding it on. So I had to remove the crank bolt first. To do this I needed to use a pulley holder and breaker bar. Or you can use an impact gun If yours is Automatic with AC, check if you have that crank bolt on there holding the harmonic balancer
@@tylerlittleton5579 if you can get a picture of it, I could probably tell you instantly
Thanks for a great video. I’m really smitten with these things. I have been for years. Looking forward to having one one day.
I'm looks to import one, how much do you pay insurance if you don't mind me asking , also since the back seats don't have seatbelts is it ok to have passengers ?
looking at buying a kei van myself soon so videos like this are really helpful to watch. did you have any problems with getting insurance and plates for it?
How well does your acty drive in the snow? Debating on bringing mine back stateside or not
It flies. Way better than any 4x4 truck I've ever had.
You can use an aftermarket gps guided speedo, some speedos will plug into the OBD port. I love the van I want to buy one and convert it into a mini camper.
Would have been great to see you actually pull the belt cover off. Can't get the fucking thing off to save my life.
Hey man, thanks so much for all the useful info! Have you ever tried to tow anything on it?
I am surprised you drove this with np in the highway seeing that they are slow and upcoming traffic give no one mercy.
‘05 Tacomas are quite valuable these days. Hope ya sold it for a good price. Pretty promising to hear that the practicality is comparable
What year is your Acty? I noticed it actually has a tachometer
Little hack I learnt way back for changing timing belts : Paint marker (2 colors preferably). Make marks on belt and crank/cam pulleys. Remove old belt and copy marks from old belt to new. Install new belt lining up pulley marks with marks on new belt. Done !
More info on this plz im bout to do mine 😢😢but kinda scared to mess up 😢
