I FOUND A FOXBODY IN A STORAGE UNIT/// WHAT A PIECE OF $H!T
Просмотров 4 тыс.Год назад
If you're familiar with Storage Wars then you'll understand. I purchased a storage auction with this Foxbody and parts, it appears the previous owner didn't get very far on the coyote swap. One mans trash is another mans treasure!!!! Storage Treasures FTW!
TICK TICK TICK... Chasing Engine Noise in the Foxbody
Просмотров 1,8 тыс.Год назад
Soon after finishing up the cam swap on my foxbody mustang the engine developed a ticking noise. In this video I show the steps I took to trace it and fix it.

This didn't quite go as planned but I'm in it now. Keep in mind not all your projects will be as simple as you thought but stay positive and get to work!!!

Excuse the rant but here is my take on why I love these cars and hopefully some motivation to see more of the younger generation enjoying them.

What ended up fixing the ticking noise? Dead lifter? Rocker arm hitting valve cover?
Cheap rockers. One of the pedestals was slightly taller than the others causing incorrect valve lash, it was essentially loose on the valve. I machined down the base of that pedestal and it quieted down.
I have the exact same ticking going on with my engine right now. I’ve checked the rocker arms and they’re all good though.
@shattereddimensionsgaming1134 did you figure your issue out?
I love the look.
Facts. It’s your car do what you want to it and make it your own. That’s what’s so special about it. It’s yours… don’t nobody wanna see a car that looks like somebody else’s. Nice ride bro!!!
I think that rear end walk thing is because guys remove drsg shocks. Mine doesn't do that. I did flip them around for the 275s Nice car.
How much you want for it
How much for raidiator core support
Sorry man, sold it already. I stripped what I wanted from it and let it go to guy who wanted the drivetrain for a 4cyl swap.
Promo'SM
I have a 87 Gt convertible a 92 GT convertible but is nothing I enjoy more than driving my 89 notch.
How much for the motor and wheels
Already sold man, they went quick.
first fifteen minutes of this video is a waste
just a lot of whining about some thing some body thought they were going to some how find a really good set of wheels abandonedin a storage facility, bvaluableb uying some thing unseen this guty is lucky there are some things he can maybe get some money for.
Surprised you got the car. Some states got goofy laws vehicles and storage units and most I've been to by me exclude them from the units..
In my experience most are excluded but this one specifically said the vehicle was included so I wasn’t going to question it.
There is gold there…. The rear window trim👍. Nobody makes it.. as long as it’s in good shape
What is that flange tailpipe setup? What brand?
I’m not sure of the tailpipe brand but the mufflers are either old macs or flowmasters all 2.5in. Most the setups online for these are pretty interchangeable.
Old guy here, just turned 5-0! 😧 I heard you on the Five-0 Asylum and wanted to check out your channel. I like your point of view, you really seem to understand these cars for not having been around to drive one when they were new. I own 2- European cars and they're great but digital like you say, that's why I still own my 91 Mustang GT and 1993 Lightning both of which I've had since new. I hope this video encourages more younger guys to come into the hobby.
Thanks man, really appreciate the kind words. I too hope to see more youth in the hobby because that’s what will keep it going for years to come.
I was born in 96 and own an 88 vert. I love it.
I’m 44 and have owned several fox bodies. Just picked up a SSP 93 notch. My son who is 20 owns a 91 LX convertible 5.0 5spd.
im 52 ... i have a 90 lx five speed hatch with boom box..i luve it...i stoped at the jiffy store to grab a beer..and this kid...9 or 10 or so was googleing eyed my car out the window..i got back out to the car and he poped the door open and say..hey mr...is that a foxbody..it was great i pop the door open and say yes check out the inside.then shut door and.he say awww cool.. that was only couple years ago.....did it stop with mellinials ..no!!! foxes never die!!!
Great story man. Glad to hear about people enjoying their cars and sharing that with others, it keeps the hobby alive. 🔥🦊🤘
I’m 29 and have three foxes. Nice shop btw!
You belong in any car that YOU are into my man. 😎
Im 40 and owned 5 foxbody since back in 2000 when I was a sophomore. Currently have a 87 modified boosted Foxbody GT
Hell yeah. The black GT on your channel is clean and sounds great. Still have it?
@Misfit Motorworks Thank you. Yes, I still have it. Wont sell it especially with the foxbody prices going up every day. 💪
born in '99... i guess that makes me a gen Z 😅 oh well at least i barely made the 90's, first car was a manual 4 banger fox and i still have it! in process of resto/swap now 👌🏼
That’s awesome man. Hope the resto comes together quick and easy. 🤘
Drove my blue one in high school now I have 3 I’m 28.
🙌 That’s rad man. Love hearing about the younger generation being involved. 🤘
22 I own a 91 vert 5.0 5 speed manual
35 and love them. Keep up the good work!
You gotta plug the PCV with boost or put a one way valve inline.# Boost leak People pull the screen out because they clog up and cause oil leaks.
Thanks for the tip, I figured that was why the screen was missing. Boost is a future project and I’m learning how to set it up as I go so any advice is appreciated. 🙏
there's nothing wrong with owning a classic. they are much better than the new rubbish coming out. I'd own an XA, XB, XC falcon if i could. NO I DO NOT WANT MY CAR TELLING ME WHAT TO DO.
Nice garage! What are the dimensions?
Thanks, 30x40 with 14ft ceilings and 2 12x12 doors
@@misfitmotorworks looks like a nice space to tinker and let your passion loose! I'm in the process of planning a "shop" build and have been focusing on dimensions very close to what you have.
@@Quik5oh I planned this building for the past five years and was finally able to make it happen. Mines and great size but they could always be bigger!!! Haha
Great video! 110% agree with you regarding these newer cars, they offer are a muted and digital experience, not a visceral driver's experience... The throttle response of the analog, cable operated pedal in my Fox is incredible compared to anything that is new. It's very easy to bond with these older analog cars, especially if you enjoy real, mechanical feedback, not electronically dampened and altered feedback.
Well put, Couldn’t of said that any better man.
I'm so old I remember when these were brand new on the street.😂 Saw a new 88 GT come around a hairpin bend side by side with an 88 Iroc. Dad got me an 83 GT in 1995 and still own it. That was 28 yrs ago kids 🥴
32 here, owned mine for over 5 years now. Rock whatever you love man
Who the f*ck cares
He gave your broke ass junk
I'm 37. And had mine since 2012 (age 27). I still love my 87' mustang. Awesome fun cars
Glad to hear that man. It takes people continuing to gain interest in these cars for the community to continue to thrive. Thanks for watching. 🤘🍻
what cold air kit is that?
It’s an older version of the BBK kit. It was on the car when I bought it.
🦊🚗👊🇺🇸💪🇨🇦🇺🇸
Awesome video brother. Tom War Admiral sent me. Keep the content coming. Hope you have an incredible night
Thanks man! Tom was super kind to me and took time to share my stuff. 🤘🍻
Looks really good. I did H&R race springs with Stange struts/shocks. J&M rear Arms set all the way down. Love the stance.
Thanks, I dig yours as well. Great stance and I’m a sucker for calypso.
Thanks. I didn’t like the color at first now I love it.
@@85Lgc definitely an acquired taste but when you see a clean one it bleeds some awesome 90s nostalgia.
Awesome job buddy 🤙🏼
Thanks dude. Your cars are sick, great to see the younger guys throwing down! 🤘
@@misfitmotorworks hell yeah man 🤘🏼 thank you
Great job bro
Thanks man, super flattering coming from you. I dig your car.
Beautiful clean car ! If I could make a recommendation speaking from years of experience as I'm fairly old 🤣...with these foxbodys, if you want them to handle then the 1st thing to do is welded in subframe connectors. 1st thing. After they're in go over some rough train tracks at a slower speed and you can actually feel the difference in rigidity. A Panhard bar is next on my list as it allows the whole rear end to ONLY move up and down on bumps and hard corners. Urethane bushings definitely help but are not a full solution. The tubular front end stuff is nice but the weight savings is not what people are led to believe. It's about 25 lbs depending on the manufacturer. A roll cage is also a large factor in rigidity of you want to go that route and intrude into the interior. In general, you want the base chassis as ridgid as possible and then let the suspension work off of that 🙋♂️
Much appreciated and great input. Subframe connectors are coming soon.
That’s a crazy clean car. Well planned start to mods. Panhard bar will make a huge difference. I’ve been running a Steeda 5-Link-2 for a decade.
Thanks! I’m very happy with how it’s turned out so far and looking forward to doing more
🤘
Yep that sounds like a Mustang 💯
It’s a great representation of the LX Which is a legend in its own right . -The Silent One- your comment is very tacky. No one cares what a snob has to say. Be respectful. Very nice ride .
The High swirl heads had shorter valves don't mix them up with stock E7s. E7s we're longer valves.
Thanks, I didn't realize. I'm planning to run an aftermarket aluminum head anyway so I haven't really paid these any attention.
Those High Swirl Heads actually came out with Factory forged flat top with no valve reliefs and they did run good with an auto. 86 GT did run good.
Hey those are the heads off a 86 Mustang GT High swirl heads Valves are
Um those are factory reacments sorry pistons
🤣🤣BOSS lmao definately not . Love ppl who try to make their cars into something its not. We love when u come to meets . Gives us someone to laugh at
Snob.
I wanted to show off my fox in a video till some asshole hit it. Keep it up man.
Dang that’s a bummer. Hope you can find or build another one.
