Pulls in the 2003 Terminator Mustang Cobra. HUGE blower whine!
Very good information. One thing I wanted to mention on the ash tray part is they make an aftermarket cup holder to convert the ashtray with a cup holder
Wait,if I’m using a Ford Explorer 5.0 with the H.O. Plaque on it, and using a roller 302 Camshaft, the firing order is different than a stock Mustang Foxbody 5.0? That’s not going to work with a Mustang Camshaft. What years of Foxbodies had the H.O. Motor I guess is what I need to know?
Hi! Ford offered a HO 302 version for many years, but referencing to the EFI versions for the Fox Body, that was 1986/87 through 1993; as was typically on the GT models. The HO firing order is 1-3-7-2-6-5-4-8.
I can't do another minute.
if i lower my car like this and then get an alignment, will they just re adjust this bolt to straight the tires? does the alignment just negate the lowering of the car? i love the look but dont want to blow through tires like crazy
There are torque specs for oil filters.
Change those drain bolt seals. I do it every time. They are only about a dollar a piece.
Great video, thanks!
Thank you!
Thanks for the video. Do they feel OEM-ish? I damaged one of mine and need to replace it. Price on these are great, but makes me a bit nervous
Hi! Yes they do and the color is perfect. Though the only difference versus stock is that these versions are missing the hole for the mounting bolt on the sides.. which can be easily drilled out and that bolt used. I just didn't worry about it and left it out, as most people do. But if you want it to look like exact stock. Would do so or find another set that has the hole.
@@adamrileycarchannel Good to know! Thank you! I dinged it pulling in my garage, made a horrible noise but thankfully the winglet too the hit and nothing else. Whew.
@@michaelgreco5945 Yes, tankful. And no problem! Good luck.
This video was edited beautifully and explained everything perfectly
@@Thatonefoxbod Thank you!!
clean super clean broda , i like it
I’m thinking of buying a fox body as a first car but im nervous about these things bc i want to work on cars but i don’t know much and don’t have the resources to weld ect.
If I could get some advice on if i should and how i could manage to own one that would really help bc i already have a few in mind but still got a year and half left for it to be possible to buy.
I wish mine sounded like that but with the LTH im scared of swapping the X pipe for the dual helix
Thank you, and yeah. I don’t know how much difference that would make with your long tubes.
Carbon flash is cheaper and looks way better than carbon fiber … This car looks better than any c8 period !!
Hi, yes sometimes the carbon fiber is great, but definitely like the carbon flash look. And thank you, yes C7’s are a pinnacle design for Corvette!
One good thing to do on those engines, since the oil filter is mounted vertically fill the oil filter with oil before you put it on. It helps get oil to your engine faster after you start the car.
Oh yes. Great suggestion here. Thanks for sharing!!
You’re welcome. I wish they mounted the oil filter like this on all engines!
How did you end up fixing the camber ? Did you got to a shop
Yes. Just took to a friends shop and they set it up -- along with new front tires purchase.
@@adamrileycarchannel nice thank you 🙏 car looks good ,,,,
My top things, Rust: Hatch, Trunk floor, Cowl drain, Door posts, Shock towers, Floors, Torque boxes if ripped will ripple the floors fyi….but you should know that. The toe board seam and seam where cowl/firewall meet will rot. The door post isn’t really rust as much as it’s bad repair/filler. They used lead, Usually they stuff full of bondo and it holds water when cracked. 2. Wrecks, Always check for wrecks, anything hit in the rear Avoid. Fronts not bad as long as they fixed it right. Doors can help. 3. Engine, Make sure the engine is healthy and all driveline is solid. 4. Rear end- A 7.5” rear end car is preferred as it means the car has never been beat on as hard as the 8.8. That’s my experience. 5. Interior. The interior is simple to replace on aero, but like all, extremely expensive to get Back in great shape, especially finding decent seats, gangster lean doesn’t bother me as it can be fixed by welding the seat frame. 6. Wiring. Any form of corrosion/Wiring hack is a major danger.
Thank you for the suggestions!!!
86 was the year for SEFI…and it’s not EECIV. That was the computer revision… Just since you’re portraying fact.
great clip, great angles Adam. I have changed to recommended m1 supercar 0-40 as now recommended I use a hockey puck for lifting. There is a clip why the AC delco is best for filters because of the correct / best "blowby pressure relief" PF 64
Thank you @jskrzn11
You nailed it. It’s driving these that grabs you by the short hairs. I drive a 91 GT vert and what I trip out on is how small it is compared to new muscle cars. I’ll pull up next to a challenger and I’m looking at the middle of their door.
@root1966. Thank you for the comment. That's one of the aspects I have always liked about this car, is how small it is. In fact, I have always felt that modern Camaros and Mustangs are too big. But that's my opinion. :D
You must remove both drain plugs for complete oil drain. As not to overfill. You MUST NEVER put vehicle weight on control arms. Can damage bushings. Check manual as not to steer other wrong.😮
Hi, thank you @cando79. Thanks for the tips. Though if you watch the video, both plugs are pulled and the jackstands are placed on the crossmember, not control arms. Thanks!
Still running the stock brakes... that's scary!!
I know!!! But I have plans for that though ☺️
That’s why I a 3LT that the mirrors come down and plus I have the backup camera and front. Beautiful car and sounds awesome 👏🏿
Thank you! And yes, I didn't realize that was one of the differences of a 3LT :(
We live and learn, still a awesome car sounds great.
Nice video ! I’ve seen some nice c7 z06’s starting in the mid 60k range with decent mileage. Definitely a steal right now
Thank you! And yes, the higher mileage ones are staring to come down a bit to some decent pricing.. but low mileage manual transmission versions are still up there.
I just bought an ‘88 and am looking to do all the typical modifications. Yours seems like a perfect fit for what I’m trying to accomplish. Any chance I could trouble you for the list of things you have done to it? Thanks!
Actually I have the other ride along video that I run down everything that’s done. But here’s the basics…. 306 CI “custom built” engine Windsor Heads B303 cam Trick flow R intake Vortech SQ V2 BBK long tubes Flow master exhaust Billet Flywheel McLeod clutch Custom Built Tremec T-5 3.75 FMS gears
Wow, very nice and clean!
Thank you so much! 🙏
@@adamrileycarchannel no problem! Keep up the good work.
Can you imagine back in the early 90s saying that 495 hp is not a lot of horsepower? The General Lee with a 440 had 400 hp give or take.
I know right?!? It’s pretty wild how far we have progressed.
Late Model Racecraft wants 42k for 250hp on a C6 GS!!! Thanks for this video!!
No problem! And that sounds pretty nuts for the price. 😳
They wanted 24k to upgrade my C7 Grandsport to make Z06 power. I just went and traded it in for a Z06 instead
I agree, Flo Masters H pipes are on my Mustang. Old school sound on my 1983 GT Convertible !!
Heck yeah! It’s the only way to go for that iconic 5.0 sound
How do I check if the oil is filled on the dipstick?
Hi, at the end of the video I show how to check that,. On a Z06, you need to let the car warm up. Then when you check it, there's two dot markings on the dipstick that indicate when it's within the full range. Hope that helps
After adding the oil....About 9.7 quarts Start and let the engine idol untill the oil temperature gets to 175 degrees. Shut it off and wait 5 minutes then check your oil level on the dipstick.
Love it! Great job! What Cam ? Computer/ Tuning?
Hi, thank you!! Much appreciated. Ford Motorsports F Cam. Stock ECM dyno tuned with a chip. But going to upgrade to the Holley Terminator X system . They have a plug and play ECU and wiring that's 100%.
@@adamrileycarchannel SCT Chip? It’s idling and throttle response are great!
@santasstang8798 Thank you! And no, it its a custom chip tune by a shop out of Saint Louis, Missouri. But, it's due for the full ECU upgrade.
I ve one 87 vert 5 speed
Nice!! I had a red '87 GT hatchback. Good luck with it!
you can adjust the mirrors to turn down when you're backing up in the settings on the radio
Hi! Apparently my level of model does not offer that feature. Unfortunately found out about this after I made the video. :(
11:08 well if she said that, my guess is she also cares about her SUV just as much as your car, so parking next to you, she doesn’t have to worry about her car getting hit either etc
I would have to agree. Thanks for the comment!
Why can’t I get a oil separator
Dunno?
Hey there - thanks for the post. I have a 16' Z51 C7 (nite race blue, grey interior, 3LT). I've been pondering lower to the max on the stock bolts. This is the first time i've heard of concerns on tire wear - good to know. Is it difficult to get the camber done correctly if I lower to the max? Also, i was considering wheel spacers (nothing crazy) to bump the wheels out slightly. Not sure, sounds like a camber adjustment could be sufficient.
Hi! Sounds like a nice ride! And yes, a simple front and rear camber adjustment from a local shop will suffice, but it never hurts to have them check the alignment while up there too. Good luck!
Hey Adam, do you have the part number/website to order the brake ducts? I'm rebuilding a 2017 grand sport and want to do it correctly. Not sure if this is even needed.
Hi! So, I found this site, which is a great price and has the same parts that were included in my factory kit. Though I have never used this vendor, it may be one to try out at that low of a price! URL: www.cultragfactoryparts.com/p-2017-c7-corvette-z06-track-front-brake-duct-cooling-kit-23412348
Sorry, 7.5 rear-end is fully capable unless you're going to run 400+ rwhp. Swap outs mostly done to go 5 lug, which isn't strictly necessary either unless you want a 5 lug wheel. And it's not map sensored, it's calculated speed density. The map sensor just gives barometric input. Other inputs are also used. MAF controlled engines still use the same sensor without engine vacuum input. Both MAF and speed density efi systems have their plusses. Oh, and foxes are factory carbbed up to 86 or some 85s in calif. So there ya go.
The people that swap to a 8.8 for 5 lug are either ignorant or stupid, As the axels are compatible…
And EFI started as throttle body on auto 5.0 cars in 84-5. In 86 they went to SEFI, And in 88 In Cali they swapped to MAF with the rest of the US following in 89.
That is really turning out nice! What a cool build! Thanks for sharing!
Thank you! Much appreciated
That looks awesome! 🐺
Thank you!!
Nice work Adam. I just finished refreshing the interior of my 92 notch. Changed the carpet from gray to black for more contrast. Also just installed off-road H-pipes on my 89 Saleen to go with my Flowmaster super 44's. Man what a difference it is without those CATS. Love your car. Great work.
Oh yeah -- bet sounds much better! And thank you!!
Do you expect the c7 zo6 to hold its value or go down after the c8?
Hi, I think they’re going to maintain their value very well. Especially if the mileage is low and is a manual transmission. Plus, The C7 was the last of the front engine Corvettes, and technologically, the C7 was the “pinnacle” of the front engine platform. Lastly, I have met many C8 owners, that state they wish had not sold their C7 and had that car back.
@@adamrileycarchannel that’s kinda where I’m stuck. I personally like the C7 ZO6 over the new ones. I just don’t know where the value will go on them so it scares me to drop 75 k on one lol
Man that sounds good, nothing beats that sound. Where did you find those headlights? I've been looking for another set of clear with the clear corners.
Thank you! Yes, these cars do have a unique sound. Love it. And the headlights are from late model restoration. American Muscle has a lot of choices too.
Bro i own a grand sport and that parking away from everyone shit is so true happens to me all the time 😂😂
Hahaha. True story!! 😂
Awesome fox man, love the run down you did with it. Seems like a really fun car to hop in and rip around in. What did it make for power or run at the track with that set up? Broke those radials loose in a instant
Thank you!! I actually have not had it dynoed in quite a long time, but last time I had it done was at 375hp / 400tq at the rear wheels. So it’s sitting around 460/500 at motor. Fastest ever I had it the track, was 11.75. But sure it could be faster. It’s just not set up for that
Sick!
Thanks!!!
Great car man
Thank you!!!
The interior turned out great! The old stang is looking good buddy!
Thank you soo much!!!
Why would I want these on my car
Hi - mainly for aesthetics
@@adamrileycarchannel they definitely look good.
I am hoping someone can honestly answer this question. I owned a 1988 5.0 GT Mustang Speed density air induction system. At what speed, this car gets sucked down, suspension system drops about 6-8"? due to the aerodynamics system and over-rides the power steering system? Since my speedometer in my car only went up to 85mph lol, I have no idea how fast I was going.
Hi, thanks for the comments and liking the video!
You are supposed to check the oil temp not the coolant temp and the oil needs to be checked at 10 minutes not 15. Good video. FYI I alway completely fill the oil filter before installing.
Great. Thanks for the tips!!
