Grew up in Fairfield County -- left at 26. Even lived in Westport for 6 months as a child -- it was my favorite! Now at 62 I am living in Tulsa, OK (not for me) trying to decide where I will spend the last chapter of my life! Thank you for this video!

It's a beautiful community, as I recall in the 1970’s The school system is one the best in the state of Connecticut. The problem is very high state taxes, and is major hub for Westporters commute from the Metro North train which seriously needs to be upgraded, like the Brightline here in Florida. Westport is a very nice town, with beautiful downtown, and beaches. It's very expensive, but is a charming town with very pleasant vibe, close knit community.

While Connecticut is mostly a beautiful state, it is run by a destructive government policy, high taxes and over restrictive of your freedoms, Costs are extremely high and while the shore line and mountains of the Berkshires are beautiful it's not easily accessible and much of the access is privately owned..I was born there, lived there BUT it is no longer what it was...just saying....

Hi, I'm curious how below grade square footage is calculated. I have a 1600 sq ft ranch with a completely open basement. I'm looking to finish 1300 sq ft of it and in the process add another bedroom and full bath. I've seen estimates online that you get 50 to 70% of ROI. So, does that mean that I can take 50 to 70% of the new square footage (650 to 900 sq ft) and use the above grade sq ft price to get a valuation? I'm not looking to sell after this reno, just curious about value added range. Thanks

If you grew up in westport during the 70s I'm sure you'll agree that life was so easy. If you're kid and you don't have a ride to the beach, just flag down the minibus. With the over population westport has lost most of its charm.

I remember buying a townhouse in Fairfield during the real estate bubble of the 1980s and 15 years later it was still worth less than I paid.

Does it help to sell if all the rooms are painted the same color ? This is a 1550 square ft ranch. And does it matter if all the window treatments/blinds are the same in every window ?

Hi Jennifer! Great 2023 forecast and I also found your 2022 video to be pretty spot on. I bought a property in Stratford in 2020 and have always thought the area was undervalued in relation to the rest of Fairfield County, especially locally with Trumball and Milford. In the pandemic prices went up quite a bit but with the last 6 months, I've a noticed a leveling off and even some back sliding in home values. Curious, if you think Stratford will continue as an area underdog and remain flat or if it come up in values matching more of the surrounding towns? Thanks!
