Is the Blue Bowl the Best Micro Gold Getter?
I test out the Blue Bowl to see how effective it is at capturing micro gold . For this test, I used some crushed ore samples I crushed down in my DIY ball mill using a rock tumbler and some steel ball bearings.

Cool setup. Especially the speed controller. Whacha smokin? Looks pretty mild, a Connecticut maybe?
🎉 Perdomo Lot 23. Connecticut indeed. Great catch.
You didnt compromise on the pontoon boat. She got her way.
I take it you're not married 🤣
Cool setup indeed fam. Keep on having fun getting that Au and living the dream. Gold Squad Out 🤠
Appreciate it
Definitely found gold !
Sure did. Next video is the micro gold clean up sluice! Spoiler: Found gold in the crushed ore!
Great review! Jason is awesome!
Put us Northern part time prospectors on the map. He's a legend.
You had the dream mat at the start with arrows pointing to the top of the sluice, When you started adding soil the mat had the arrows facing towards the end of the sluice, After clean up the mat was back with arrows facing to the top again? What is the right way to install the dream mat.
I had it backwards the first time through lol. Here's a link that shows the arrows face the top. prospectorsdream.com/products/micro-pocket-sluice
Hello there: I’ve been following your RUclips channel and I believe your content has great potential to reach a wider audience. I specialize in improving video rankings on RUclips and have helped many channels grow. If you ever need advice on how to increase your reach, feel free to reach out!
Thanks. I just do this as a hobby when I have the time. Appreciate the offer.
where did you the table matt thats protecting the wood?
It's the Rockler Silicone MAt. I have a bunch of them and they're awesome. Here's a link: amzn.to/3YMmLee
I feel like the cheapest stones and equipment really is best for experienced users, usually the same ones who have "graduated" from them and use something else. Mostly because if one is new to freehand sharpening and you follow the advice of get a cheap stone and a cheap knife to practice on, you introduce soooo many variables and you just dont have the experience to identify if you are doing something wrong or if theres something wrong with the stone or the knife. If both the stone and the knife is at least something in the midrange, something one would actually comfortably use, its way more likely that any issue is your doing and can be corrected. I also think that "grit" can be super misleading to go by, even in the more expensive stones. Not only because theres different systems of grit (which is a damn rabbit hole in itself), but also because the type of abrasive and the matrix its in affects the outcome so much that the number on the stone is borderline meaningless sometimes. For instance, my shapton rockstar 3000 leaves a coarser edge than my regular soaking naniwa 1000. My 1000 grit diamond plate acts more like 320 waterstone or a 600 ceramic. How is someone just buying a stone to learn sharpening meant to figure all this out without alot of expensive trial and error? Sorry for the rant, good video though
Totally agree. I just have a mental disorder where I can't pass up a 'bargain.' I am really getting into sharpening and love trying different methods. Problem is...I stink at all of them. The worksharp products ar ethe best out there for a guy like me. Quick, simple and repeatable. Definitely better methods out there, but I get the best results with the worksharp benchstones.
@@AnArmAndAGreg Nothing wrong with worksharp, almost all the stuff they make is awesome. Doesnt the sharpal guides help though?
@@kvernesdotten Absolutely! The Sharpal guides are the only reason I prefer stones over electric methods. Much more room for error and very easy to use.
I've been watching Jason for a couple of years now. I'm glad to see people are testing out his cleanup sluices. I can't wait to see you run that ball mill mud through there. That is the perfect size grit for these riffles.
Looking forward to it. Initial tests are looking promising.
Im looking forward to seeing the ball mill material test !
Thanks, FGW! Really appreciate it. Should be running material this weekend. Re-ran my blue bowl material (Blue Bowl video coming soon) and the Micro Gold Sluice captured some gold I blew out of the bowl!
Cool setup indeed fam. Keep on having fun getting that Au and living the dream. Gold Squad Out 🤠
Appreciate it
Thanks for the review I'm definitely getting one!
Thanks! Definitely comes in handy. Used mine this week to till up the garden before it snows.
No front bumper I have some
Nice!
Nothing wrong with these stones.
I've learned that this video was very entertaining and I look forward to every time you post. Keep creating and keep killing it!
Thank you so much. I really appreciate the kind words. Note: This is NOT a comment from my mom.

Hello, do you have a link to buy the yellow brushes you use? Thank you.
Sorry it took a few days, but I dropped the link to the disposable brushes in the description. you could also get them at Michael's or Hobby Lobby.
the tinkercad links are broken
@@AAAAAAHH thanks. I'll take a look. They're working for me so I'll have to find a way to get them public
Lol dude that stranger comment had me rolling lol

Excellent video. Seems like cell#2 is usually the faulty one on these Milwaukee 6.0's. Now, how do you properly charge JUST that cell using the power supply? What can you use to make it make proper contact with the terminal ends? (And how long do you charge it?)
I have a crude drawing of the cells in the video. You can just hook your power supply to just one cell to charge it up. I use automotive spade connectors to fit into the slot and hook my test lead wire clips to those. Depending on the input voltage, a single cell can typically charge in about 10 minutes to get to the minimum needed to use a normal m12 charger.
@@AnArmAndAGreg OK I'm going to give it a shot. Thank you !!! DC variable power supply is on the way; thanks amazon :) lol. Lastly, to charge that stubborn middle cell (just to recap), set the voltage on the charger to 4 or 5 and the amps to 1 or 2, and safely let her charge for what... 30 mins ish? This isn't my first rodeo with electronics, but I don't want to destroy/lose this practically brand new milwaukee battery... I think the company should remedy this issue with their 6.0's!... Anyhow, let me know and thank you again!
@@donjuandetrumpo That's what I would do. I would check the voltage every 5 min or so until you get a feel. I've had some stubborn cells that have taken 30 min before. I believe the voltages for all 3 cells have to be +/- .5V (made that up, but it is something similar) from each other or the M12 charger will blink. Good luck!
@@AnArmAndAGreg Do you have a video of charging individual cells?
@@ngk330 To charge just an individual cell, check out the drawing in the video. I just hook up the positive lead to the faulty cell and the negative lead to the next cell (or ground for cell three) to charge it up close to the other cells. Then, once they're all close to the same charge, you can charge the remainder on the Milwaukee charger. Hope this helps!
The wd40 is for after use even though I honestly wouldn't recommend doing it. Just use soapy water in a spray bottle too clean after use. Because say you wanna sharpen a knife you use camping or even kitchen knives you want a none toxic lubricant or cleaner for the stone's.
great tip. Thanks!
U put the wd 40 after you use it. It's a wet stone system
Thanks. Appreciate the help.
More boat videos. 😊
Will do. Putting it in the water this week for a leak check.
I second that. Love the restoration videos.
We just painted the boat and flipped it right side up. I'll film us building the deck. Thanks for the suggestion.
Nice video
Thanks. Felt good to be back.
This is the longest panning I have ever seen, a worlds record 😁

A little too late to the comments but I just found the video 😅
Thanks a ton! I've been really busy with kids activities. I filmed a bunch of videos--I've just been too lazy to edit them. I'll start putting more out in a week or two once he kids are back in school! Thanks again.
you do know there is a drain plug on a boat right? just don't forget to put it back in before you launch it lol
A 1958 Alumacraft...unfortunately no drain plug.
Spoiler alert....I had the C4 Cruise-O-Matic 3 Speed Automatic Transmission in my stock '64 wagon. You're only a couple of years off lol
😂
Needed this. Just got the Airsense 11 and I run all Milwaukee battery tools. I'll keep the temp and humidifier on and just throw a 12ah battery on it. Thanks!
Glad it helped. Just used it last night with an 8 ahr battery with temp and humidity off and still had 2 bars left.
You installed the Dream mat backwards.
D'oh!
I think it depends on what you want to use it for. The discharge pressure is about 35 psi. The average home plumbing is 30-50+, so it's similar to a house hose on the low end. The flow rate is listed as 480 gph. The typical household hose is 300-600, so it's right in the middle. It's not listed as drinking water safe, but it looks like it will work for most household water tasks. Not sure what a nozzle or sprayer does to the outlet flow rate or how it impacts the longevity of the pump...but it sure is convenient.
Does this give you enough pressure to repurpose water through the outlet with a nozzle?
Sorry. Didn't post my reply correctly the first time: I think it depends on what you want to use it for. The discharge pressure is about 35 psi. Small Potatoes
thank you for sharing the video. I had Sparx 2.0 for almost a year and still not entirely sure if I got the alignment right since depending on the angle at which I stare into lens it changes the angle making it difficult to see if the alignment ring and the little knob/tab are really aligned or not :( there is like a 3d effect to it that messes me up, or I just need to get my eyes checked lol Is there any trick to ensure they are?
I find that if it's close, you'll be able to dial in micro adjustments after checking with the blade edge checker. Kids have hockey camp coming up, so I'll do another video when I get the spark down from the attic. Hopefully this helps.
@@AnArmAndAGreg that would be great, thank you! Didn’t even realize I need the checker since I was relying on the optical tool only. Also for flare blades there isn’t even a reliable checker out there it seems :/
Love my benchstone
Stratify. Stratification. Not what you keep saying.
You are exactly correct. Funny story: When I first went to a learn-to-gold pan event at a local club many years ago, the old-timer there said Stra-Tis-Fy, not stratify. We had fun with it and my kids kept saying "Stratisfy to satisfy," and "I can't get no Stratis-faction," so it stuck as an homage to those old timers that taught me. I'll probably keep on saying it--and part of me laughs every time I hear myself, but it's a fun little nod to a memorable family vacation ;) Maybe I'll clarify in a future video to eliminate confusion, but it's fun to be a little devious.
Does dish soap really help sink the floating gold flakes
Dish soap is an exceptional surfactant. However, it suds. The advantage of using jet dry or rinse aid is that it doesn't cloud the water with a bunch of bubbles. I use it in a pinch or when I'm seasoning a new pan.
Want to buy trinity bowl gold pan q1"blue
