Did you ever think that you’d become such a beacon of hope for a community made up of 1M+ people, from all walks of life, all ages, from literally all around the world, and… BONE BROTH IS #trending lo.😂. You, even though going through literal hell, still manage to put a smile on other people’s faces. And at such a young age … turning into your mum with the soup vat and concurrently into a dad with the dad jokes. YOU ARE A PRICELESS GIFT TO SO MANY OF US. AND WE FUCKING LOVE YOU!

Thank you for letting the stars that shine in you shine on all of us. Your talent is MASSIVE, but your gorgeous soul is what knocks people on their ass, it shines through every smile and every tear you show us. Thank you for giving us all permission to be vulnerable. Thank you for shining a light on the things that need to change in our world, and thank you for not being just another self-serving ‘brand.’ And best of all thank for being a real human being. Listening to you describe how hopeful you get and determined you are to reach the top of the barrel only to get knocked back down…I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia & I spent 15 years on meds & one day said no more. Idk if that is relevant to the fact that I also experience life in that regard. I have always been the happy, outgoing, strong person that people enjoyed, until I ended up losing faith in myself. I simply couldn’t understand how I was constantly getting shoved back into the barrel even tho I did everything I could to be a good person & do things right it never mattered, the result was always the same. Today the only thing that is different is the severity of losing hope after so many positive hopeful attempts. So many things I’ve wanted to be a voice for to help others only to wind up isolating myself and wishing I mattered to someone bc the feeling of being alone and never good enough is really crippling. Even tho I know how amazing I am and how beneficial of a person I could be to others, I can’t get up the courage to climb to the top again. So I stay at the bottom & hope for my days to pass quickly so that I don’t have to stay in the dark alone anymore. My voice has always been a whisper in the grand arena of screams. As I continued on for so long never being protected I realized that my idea of a God keeping me safe and loved was only a way to have control over individuals while those that tell us are fighting one another for all the riches we feeble watch them collect from the sidelines of fear.

    • @WAITINGFORTHEWORLDTOCATCHUP

I use odd names on the social platforms bc in the off chance that my name is recognized, I don’t want to admit to the suffering bc I don’t feel that I have the right to complain. In addition to the fact that I don’t want people to know how defeated & depressed I can be. Maybe I’m not as real as I believe I am since I’m faking my happiness. Although when I’m really down-I’m never in public bc I can’t bring myself to get out of bed. So is it really fake, or just disguised. The amount of love I have for the human race is not a healthy trait when the human race is as poisonous as it is. I do know there are some that aren’t, but I’ve not been lucky enough in my lifetime to find them. So I keep my distance and find solace in a hidden identity behind the keyboard. What a waste of a beautiful person inside & out. Doesn’t seem right. 💁‍♀️

This was such an important message. I live in NY and I have a son with Down syndrome. When he was 4, he became extremely sensitive and anxious when around spinning fans, elevators, wipers and other things. It got to a point where he refused to eat in a room that had a ceiling fan. I brought him to a neurologist to look for answers. We waited for over a 1/2 hour in the waiting room and I was able to entertain him with books and toys they had in the room. Once we saw the doctor, she spent about a 1/2 hour asking me questions confirming answers that I had already filled out in the questionnaire. Because I wasn't paying attention to him and there were shiny dangling objects in the room, my son became restless and could no longer keep still. She examined him for about 5 minutes and pointed out features he had related to Down syndrome. She seemed overly focused on those features and dismissive when he answered some of her questions correctly (e.g. colors, animals, body parts, etc.). Next she stated that he was too young to be diagnosed with ADHD, but she recommended treating him for it. She told me to choose between clonidine or risperdal because "we have to slow him down". And to expect severe weight gain as a side effect. She never explained what caused the issues I originally went there for, so I pushed to see if there were any other options before putting him on medication. After pressing her for answers, she blurted "Don't you want to make your life easier?" No, that was not why I was there. I wanted to help my son get better, not turn him into a zombie to make my life easier. I'm not against treating ADHD with proper medication, but this did not seem right and I lost trust in this doctor's intention to actually help my son. Sadly, we all need to question more, because doctors aren't necessarily trying to help us get better. Some are just trying to just mask symptoms so that patients are easier to deal with. And, yes, there are profit motives for prescribing medications before exploring other options. My son is in his teens right now I'm glad he is not on any meds and is doing pretty well right now. Just goes to show you the suggested drugs would have caused more harm to him than good.

I don’t know of ME same as fibromyalgia but if you want to feel better take these three supplements 1. Palmotoylethanolamide (PEA) for body aches every 6-8 hours. 300mg 2. 5-htp two times a day morning and before bed 50mg-100mg this is antidepressants. 3. Melatonin 3mg before bed. And for energy D-Ribose , this will raise blood sugar. All start working after two weeks. Hope you feel better soon. 🇦🇪 🙏🏼

There is no cure for ADHD, and until we've reached the stage where we are comfortable with genetic engineering of live human beings, there won't be a cure. ADHD is a neurodevelopmental condition, that is inherited and therefore genetic. ADHD is something that can be seen on CT scans of a person's brain; a genetically inherited deformation of the basal ganglia and caudate putamen. ADHDers make up 4% of the worldwide population. Interestingly, the UK is in an opposing situation when compared with the USA. 6% of the US population have been diagnosed and treated - arguably too many. Whereas, in the UK, 85% of the ADHD population remain undiagnosed and untreated. The risks to an ADHDer of not being diagnosed and treated are staggering and include increased rates of homelessness, incarceration, suicide, poverty and mortality. ADHDers have dodgy dopamine receptor sites - and therefore have a huge range of debilitating symptoms that come with not having enough dopamine available. For this reason, dopamine reuptake inhibitors aka stimulants, are the first line treatment for ADHD. They've been used for 70+ years and have a wealth of research backing their use. Some, but not all, of these stimulant medications are outside of exclusive patents and licensing and are therefore produced competitively and cheaply by many different pharmaceutical companies. The profit on them is therefore minimal, when compared with drugs that are in patent, and can be marked up as a monopoly. I love your art Ren. You have a bold, confident and refreshing take on society at large. The money game is a beautiful expression of the folly of capitalism. But, in this individual case, you're contributing to the stigma that ADHDers face on a day to day basis from society. ADHD is a broad spectrum, and not all ADHDers will require medication in order to find ways in which to function. But, respectfully, you are ignorant of the real situation backed up by tonnes of research and so many people's lived experiences. I speak both as a moderator over at the ADHDUK subreddit, as someone who's worked in healthcare and as someone who has ADHD themselves and was diagnosed way too late. Pharmaceutical companies have the capability of being utter cunts. Just look at the opioid crisis unfolding in the USA. I agree with what you're trying to say as a generalism. But please keep in mind, that not all drugs are evil profit machines and should be looked at with individual awareness. Perhaps, you might want to look at ADHD a little closer to see how, like for a deaf person, medication for an ADHDer can be akin to hearing aids. Having them fitted doesn't mean you aren't deaf and that you won't still have to put in the extra work on speech therapy. But those hearing aids can now enable you to start putting in the right systems in place in your life and generally begin to try and catch up. Medication can be like that for so many desperate ADHD souls. Have a browse of our community over on reddit, r/ADHDUK, and read some of peoples lived experiences and you'll see why I've written this post in the vague hope you might read this and consider championing those of us who need medication to function rather than furthering the stigma.

Wow, you seem really defensive. Ren was not saying that medication isn't useful and sometimes needed for ADHD Nor was he saying that there was a cure, he was saying that the diagnostic process isn't thorough enough and doctors turn to drugs first and fast, before exploring other under lying causes and possible therapies leading to the over prescribing of children. I don't know if you knew this, but Ren has been diagnosed with pretty severe ADHD. He mentions it frequently and has said that he sometimes takes Adderall for it. He is not anti-drugs, but pro patient. I have a question for you, though. I have suspected that I have ADHD for years, but feel like the diagnostic procedure of filling out a questionnaire is too subjective and relies too heavily on self analysis. My question is, if ADHD can be seen on a CT scan, why isn't that the diagnostic standard? Why not rely on objective tests to determine whether one would benefit from medication? Seems like that would end the debate over diagnosis rates. I would definitely feel more comfortable with a more objective diagnosis.

“Quick fix, snake oil” … “take another pill, here, take a couple more. Let’s see how you’re going in another week or so. You’ll be feeling worse once the side effects will show” I don’t know when Ren wrote those words, but he’s had a long time to learn the lesson of what the pursuit of profit does to front line health care services. Thankfully, it looks like the complete privatisation of the NHS might be avoided…just, if we get through to the next election before the party that has always hated the concept of the NHS manages to kill it - we’ll see…and we’ll see if the next government actually does something about undoing the nearly 50 years of undermining it that we’ve had (ever since Bupa was allowed in the U.K. - and New Labour went with the same policies of increased PFI etc, so we haven’t had any government working to bolster the NHS as what it should be since the 70s). Here’s hoping the next few years are spent getting started removing profit from front line health care services, getting every penny spent on the NHS actually delivering patient care instead of pouring into the pockets of private investors, and that 50 years from now, people will look back and see 2023 as the nadir from which the NHS rose like a phoenix to soar as it should.

It’s fascinating listening to this and hearing the nascent concepts which Ren realised in his work later - Sick Boi, Money Game etc. The reason those songs are so powerful is because Ren has this fundamental life experience and philosophical belief that gives them an honesty.
