hi! thanks for sharing this! I would like to do it but I don't know if in my country (Argentina) we have the same capacitor, could you please share with me more details about it like more specification of each capacitor or if I can replace them for other with the same UF. thanks
@@francomoda yes you can you pretty much any capacitor as long as it’s the same UF. In the video I’m using Mylar Film Capacitor. Polyester Film Box is another good choice and Ceramic Capacitor will work fine.

Actually no need for the brackets, theres a setting where you can put the setting to a higher temperature before it shuts off. Filmed at 100 Farenheit outdoors for hours never shut down on me. Maybe try that out to see if it helps.
@@jerryleepalad5455 is it a Sony ZE-E10??? I did change the temperature setting to higher and still shut down. It also depends on what focus settings, apparently auto tracking focus make the camera work even harder. Once I filmed for nearly an hour before it shut off but most of the time only filmed in the 20’s before shutting off. Seems to be able to film forever with the fan. They make aftermarket fans for this camera so I don’t think the high temp setting works for everyone

@@Milky_Sock yeah great quality. Apparently the reason why it overheats is because Sony used the same module as their high end cameras, shoved it in a tiny case with no room for heat management.

Correct me if i'm wrong but are your strings nickle plated round wound - around a steel core? If that is water based cleaner you have now introduced rust inside along its entire length. Why not just soak a rag in petrol and drag the string through it?
@@craigtodd8297 well first of all it’s not a mild steel core, strings cores are made out high carbon steel. It’s not as resistant to rust as stainless steel but high carbon steel is somewhat resistant. Most knives and swords are made from high carbon steel and have some resistance to rust. Plus the water is hot so they dry up quickly when you take them out of the ultrasonic. You can wipe your strings down with cleaners but you’ll never get the crud out from deep within the winds.
Indeed, it seems the dirty strings sound brighter but with much less output and way less lows/mids!
@@tignytigny yeah I think the dirty strings sound brighter because their other frequencies are dulled down. I wish I was a better engineer, I think the clean strings were slightly louder and it was overloading my interface (I didn’t want to change any settings to get a proper comparison)

I been playing the same strings on my jazz bass since 2007. I knock off the crud with steel wool, biff it into the sonic cleaner with some all purpose household cleaner, rinse in warm water, give it a light coat of lemon oil, paper towel off any excess, string it up. No oil has it up to 85% new sounding for sure, but I'm on a mission to have ancient strings on that thing and I like the mild corrosion protection since 2013 or so... So I take the hit and accept 70% new sounding strings with a fresh lemon scent lol it's a jazz bass, it's got all kinds of ice picking ability, a P bass would sound like trash like this. For the cost of a sonic cleaner, I probably paid for it by now in new string savings, but in reality these strings were never going to be changed anyway, so it's all a loss haha
I don't know what you are trying to do, but neither of those are 'standard' tunings and it makes no sense to refer to them as standard.
@@MrChopsticktech well it’s still EADG so you don’t have to change notation from standard tuned songs. And I don’t call the “new tunings” standard, I call them Split Bass and Subsonic
To me the best use would be in a repair setting, de-goo the clients strings, clean the instrument and then it’s up to them if the want new strings, but it’s not mandatory. Also getting someone else’s funk out of the strings of a used instrument

@@riangarianga good to know about the 60°, the manual says it goes to 80 but didn’t quite get there. Maybe I’ll start with hot water next time and the heater can take it to max
cool idea ,I have used lighter fluid in a bowl in the past but alot of waste ,I recently got a product called Corroseal its a water based product to remove rust for other projects ,but I used it on a few things one was a flashlight where the batteries leaked and basically destroyed the springs for the batteries ,I used a Qtip and dipped into the product and a few hours later the corrosion was gone ,so I will try it on strings to see what it can do, but I do want a unltrasonic cleaner ,I have a few guitars where thePickup pole pieces have rusted and I will use the Corroseal for that , its not a cheap product but you may find it on some projects to be the thing to use ,I bought it to stabilize the rust on my truck frame ,but man if you have anything that is corrosive and cant put it in a Ultrasonic cleaner this is what you want ,Amazon sells it and in different amounts so for me its a no brainer

This is quite helpful, thanks for sharing, a quick question, is it possible to switch the inductor on this model to something like a red Fasel inductor? Thanks
@@ImprovGuitarJams absolutely possible. Theres only 3 mods you can do to this model. 1. Tone cap 2. True bypass 3. Inductor swap Check out my video on modifying the crybaby, in that video @2:48 you can listen to very subtle differences in a Red Fasel. ruclips.net/video/3dsUia0n6bU/видео.htmlsi=8whr8rBasjYGSkB1 The tone cap will affect the sound more than the fasel does. Also I personally don’t change the inductors in vox wah because in my mind that’s what makes vox a vox and a fasel is wah make a crybaby a crybaby. That’s just a person thing though. To replace the vox inductor you’ll need to unsolder the 4 legs holding onto the board ( 2 legs are the circuit and the bother 2 legs should just be for support and will not be used in the mod) and solder the Red Fasel in.
I don't agree with these mods. They suck. Literally, as in tone suck.
That 10nF capacitor you replaced with the 22nF cap does not extend the tone range. What you did was lower the resonant frequeny range. You will now have less filtering or a lower resonant peak in the higher frequency ranges. In other words, the wah becomes less effective on higher notes. This is mod you would do if you were going use it with a bass guitar.

I hate to break it to you, but plenty of people have done this before 😭
@@joshuatyson1907 I know people do drop tunings all the time but this is a little different as it’s still E Standard. Hit me up with some real examples of THIS tuning then.
@ I never said anything about drop tunings, as I’m well aware it’s a standard tuning, and while I don’t have any references for bands that have used it, it’s just common sense to assume that people have done it before. No hate or anything, I’m just saying.
@ funny how you’re using “common sense” and don’t have any examples. I’ve done lots of research and couldn’t find any info of anyone doing THIS tuning. And I talked to several seasoned professionals and they have never heard of such a tuning either. I wouldn’t have made a video about it if it was well know or at least documented. Not trying to argue with you here, just saying this either so extremely rare that no one knows of it or it doesn’t exist, it definitely doesn’t have a name which is why I’m coining the phrase “sub-octave E Standard”
@@ArtoriusGuitarNerd I see what you’re saying, but my thing is, easily hundreds of thousands, if not millions of people play electric guitar and/or bass, and with people constantly experimenting and trying new things, I just don’t think it makes sense to assume you’re the first person that’s tried tuning all four strings of a bass down a full octave, considering there are bands like Bongripper that go down to F Standard, meaning the bass is just one semitone shy of sub-octave E Standard. I’m not trying to argue, either, I’m just saying that it’s much more likely than not that this has been done at least once before, all things considered.
@ heard that brother but I have to be one of the first to document it and to give it a name. My thoughts is SubOctave is not a drop tuning like the F Standard you mentioned. Even though F Standard is one semitone difference it’s also on the wrong side of the octave. This tuning is 12 semitones lower than standard so SubOctave F Standard would be the equivalent to a drop tuning like F Standard and would 23 semitones lower than standard.

@@gstube1 you can change the caps on top of the circuit to change the frequencies but I never needed to…the stock frequencies are good enough for me
Interested to know what each component does as you are explaining which ones to change.
@@gstube1 .047uf increases the overall bass. .22uf lowers the bass when you turn up the gain so it doesn’t get muddy. 2.2k increases the gain at max. 39k lowers the gain at minimum. The 10k & 100ohm control the bias of the output buffer. It doesn’t affect the volume , but it does change the dynamics and attack. The 808 is a softer spongy sound & feel, the ts9 has more pop to it with a slightly compressed sound compared to the 808 but this is very subtle

To add to this, if you have a Strat or Tele and find the bridge pickup too bright, before changing pickups or something, try adding a small resistor inline from the pickup at the switch. This will change the resonance peak slightly and may make the pickup sound better.
@@miket.220 i believe adding a resistor inline/in series will only lower the volume. Adding a resistor in parallel would have more effect on the resonance peak but the resistor would have two be equal resistance of the potentiometer (500k resistor with a 500k pot) (250k resistor with a 500k pot)……. And I could be wrong about all that, feel free to correct me if I am.
This is a good instructional on how to physically wire up a clipping switch....What I do see is a bit of misinformation. The diodes stated as "1N34A" are not germanium 1N34A diodes. Those are fake silicon Schottky diodes commonly sold and labelled as 1N34A across the internet as such. Please do your research people. Real NOS germanium diodes are still quite available and have a very discernable difference in size, package, shape than their fake counterparts. Germanium diodes can easily be distinguished when looking at them as "Cat Whisker" or " point contact diodes"... Most germaniums measure pretty close to each others curve because of the fact they begin to conduct much earlier than silicon... Hence their lower forward voltage. most measure .30 to .5 FV @ 5ma range when silicon is much higher FV...
@@shanewelch1006 I knew those diodes were not true germanium… you don’t need a multimeter to see that. I used these for my example because they measured the same and were less bulking to wire directly onto the switch. It’s been a while since I’ve built something with germanium diodes but I would probably use true glass germanium diodes in a build.
Come with it now!
