Great video. Was wondering if you ever stayed at secrets cap cana and how this one compares. We stayed at cap cana a few weeks ago and it was amazing. We are really looking at Akumal for next year. Any thoughts? If you didnt stay at Cap Cana check out some of my videos from our trip there. I proposed to my beautiful fiance there. They really made our stay special for us. Thanks again for the detailed video.
Awesome recommendation! I'm definitely adding it to my bucket list 😉 I recommend Secrets Akumal because of the food, the snorkeling, and service. You can't go wrong, in my opinion. I appreciate your support 🙏
How deep into the ocean did you have to go to snorkel?
Honestly, not too deep because I'm a shorty and not the best swimmer. So I'd say maybe... 10 feet into the ocean.
How was the A/C? Can you control the temp. 66 deg at night is my preferred temp. Thanks.
AC worked the whole time I was there, didn't need to adjust, but I'm sure you could since most resorts you're able to!
@@MariJulis Thanks!
WHERES THE GOOBER BOX
"Um, I'm supposed to get a toy with this"
As a wendys worker i can say that that burger is sad. No pickles, lettuce, tomato, and not even a clean spread on the sauce. The burger still sucks, id rather eat the pretzel baconator.
THEY FORGOT THE PICKLES
@@TheQuietGamer69 the pickles are the important part lol
Right!!! So dissapointing but gonna try the pretzel baconator next time.
$10???
Yeah! I've seen different prices in other videos but mine was $10 😔
@@MariJulis that’s crazy how expensive things are!
Burger are not meant to be vegan in real life
We will be going back to the VIRM for our 10th time this December. It’s amazing how the resort is decorated for Christmas. We always had a wonderful time. No bad experience. The staff our wonderful and work hard to give you a great experience. We make sure to have tip money to show our appreciation. The food is delicious and love the live music provided. Cheers 🥂
Wow that's amazing! We love VIM and loved the Christmas decorations, too. Have a wonderful time! 🤗
that's some good production quality for such a small channel, almost thought i was watching somebody with a million subs. great resort reviews!
Your comment is very much appreciated! We're a creative couple who recently started our channel and enjoy creating quality content. Thank you for your support 🤗.
Wonderful video, you nailed it perfectly
Thank you so much for your support! 🤗
Thanks, MariJulis, Katsu Ramen, here I come !!!!
Try both!!! 😋
Do you need to take own snorkel gear or do they provide?
You can go through the resort or the people that work by the beach that offer snorkling, pay (I think resort $45-$50 the others $30?) they will give you life jackets, snorkel gear OR... you can do what we did and bring your own snorkels and go snorkel every day for free within the ropes off section. Hope this helps!
Great review! We get there tomorrow. The beach chairs with the umbrellas, are those a free for all too?
Thank you so much! They have both: A section for Preferred Club Members that is roped off, and the rest are on a first come basis for non-preffered. Have an amazing time!!! ☀️🏖🍹
We were there a month ago. It was excellent, staff is great, food overall is great, its chill with enough things to do but not a spring break party so perfect for us. The loud pool is still very chill, not overbearing, just music and people hanging out. Mercado 19 breakfast is amazing (I bet dinner is also good but we didnt make it), the 2 mixologist bar were awesome, the live piano was very cool. You must eat Kopai, Cilento, Mercado 19, Maria Dolores, and El Suspiro. We did not try Takeshi or Cala Di Luna but wanted to try both. Skip los abrazos and la consentida imo, both were not worth it. We did a swim out room which is inspira only but we really didnt use the perks, they made us reservations, they kept the fridge stocked, and we had more cabanas on the beach but you can get by easy with a regular room. When you check in, someone will take you to explain the map of the place, and then they try to sell you on a time share by saying lets meet for breakfast, just skip it.
Thank you for sharing your insight with others. Super helpful for all of us! 👍🏼
Was the snorkeling extra $?
There are several options! You can go through the resort or the people that work by the beach that offer snorkling, pay (I think resort $45-$50 the others $30?) they will give you life jackets, snorkel gear and take you out behind the roped off section OR... you can do what we did and bring your own snorkels and go snorkel every day for free within the ropes off section and spot fish and turtles on your own! It's totally up to you. Have fun 😎
Did you feel safe in Armenia? I am thinking of going (as a female solo traveller) for 5 nights. Where do you recommend staying? I couldn't find any hostels!
I don't have recs on where to stay because I stayed with family. However, I will say that we stayed closer to the "Museo del Oro Quimbaya" and felt very safe in that area. Like any city, downtown in the evening/night is not recommended, the locals will tell you! Have an amazing trip 🥰 and if you have more questions let me know. Happy to help!
Do you know the beer selectiion available
Oh that's a good question! I don't know though 😅 but I'll make note of beer selections for future resorts!
How's the beach?
We enjoyed it! Being able to snorkel was really nice. There's some good shots of the beach in the video, check it out! Hope it helps 🤗 🏖
Thank you, I love secrets Akumal but just out of my price range right now. 😢
I get that, maybe 2025 goals!!! Do you have suggestions for more affordable all-inclusives? I could make a video for them too🤔
Great video, not too long but a lot of important stuff packed in, well done. Question, did you bring your own snorkel n mask? Now I need to check out your others.
Thank you so much! We try and make it so 😉. Yes we brought our own snorkel mask!
Great review 🎉
Thank you! 🙏
thank you so much for this video! it was super informative. my fiancé and i are choosing between this resort and atelier for our honeymoon! we have never been to a resort before. which one would you suggest?
Happy to know it helped! As for which resort, really depends on what type of vacation you're looking for. Can't go wrong with either because they're both great and different. Atelier for me: chill vibes, great for relaxing, amazing food, not a lot of entertainment, beautiful modern architecture and room, ok beach layout. Secrets Akumal for me: more options for activities, good beach for snorkeling, lots of tasty food options, a building concierge. Hope this helps! 😊
great video and editing! i'm sold!
Thank you so much!!! 😊
I'm going to Bogota in September (very first time to South America!) and one of the things I'm most excited for is the Colombian food and fruits. 😁
Yes!!! We have so many fruits to try. Definitely get Lulo juice! Have fun 😊
ABURRIDISIMO TU VIDEO 🤮
Went about 6 years ago and was awesome. Going back this September, I know we'll have a wonderful time. 😃
You ARE gonna have a wonderful time!!! Eat a churro for me 🤣🤣🤣
Omg, I wish I could give you a triple thumbs up!! Such a quality video with informative detail with a personal touch. I love the comedic elements. 😂
🤣 Happy to hear we've brought a smile to you. Thank you so much 🫶🏼
You are a joy to watch! Akumal is on our "must do" list! Thanks for taking us along!
Awww thank you 🤗 I appreciate that, now you gotta go to Akumal 💃🏻!!!
Awesome video and review! Your fun and light hearted nature really shines through in the video and narration.
Awesome! Happy to hear you've enjoyed the video, I appreciate it 🤗
you guys make a quality video!! Bet that subscriber count climbs!!
Love this comment! Thank you tons. 🤗
Great review. How did you get from the airport to the resort?
Thank you so much! We book a private transfer a good few months before the trip because they fill up quick. We've done Kalido and Travicons, both have been great 👍🏼
@@MariJulis thank you!
🏖What resort should we do next???🌴Comment below the resort you'd like an Ultimate Guide for.
We loved Secrets Costa Mujeres and think you would too! I would also like to see you go to Hyatt Zilara in DR b/c it's on my maybe list!
Unico!
Adding to my list!
Secrets Maroma
Impressions Moxche
Im sooo happy you made this video! 💕 I’m going next week and it’s my first time going to an all inclusive in general! I can’t wait 🙌🏼
Yay! That makes me so happy! 😊 You're going to have a blast 🏖
Awesome review! What is the app that you used for the resort? We’ll be there at the end of July for the 1st time. 🍻
The app is Hyatt Inclusive Collection! You're going to have a great time 💫
We arrive July 31. See you there!
@@bigkrazy15enjoy. We have been there twice and will be there again on august 10th.
Love what your trying to do with the resort reviews! A couple things that would have been awesome to cover; Transportation - What did you use? How long did it take? Might want to consider giving them a "number" or an recommendation on visiting if you can.
Thank you so much! I appreciate the comment 🤙🏼
It’s about an hour from Cancun airport. Do a quick google search and plenty of options of transportation comes up. There’s expensive, affordable, private, ride with groups of other people in a bigger van. Do some research. USA transfer is a good one that I’ve used!
What would be your suggestion on tipping the staff?
I'm personally in the boat of tip what you feel comfortable tipping within your budget! A sample day could look like tipping in USD, $1-2/drink throughout the day at the pool/beach. Breakfast/Lunch $5-10. Dinner $10-20. $5-10/day housekeeping OR at the end of your stay. I would also tip your transport from airport to resort $5-10 because in my experience, the drivers are eager to give you local guides, history and recommendations. At the end of the day just remember, tip is optional but they do appreciate whatever you give them!
I've been tempted to book VIM several times as the reviews are amazing and the grounds/pools look gorgeous. My only hold back for VIM is the fact that you cannot see the ocean from anywhere on the resort unless you book an emerald oceanfront suite which are pricey and the views are pretty obscured by trees. For the price of an emerald suite I would go to Secrets Maroma instead which is consistently ranked as one of the top all inclusives in the world
Oooh yes! I've heard great things about Secrets Maroma, adding it to the bucket list. Thank you! 👍🏼
Me encantaria conocer esa hermosa región ❤
Si tienes la oportunidad, hazlo!!! ✈️🌴 Yo quede encantada.
You are so hott!❤️
do you need to pay for shaded chairs at the pool/beach?
I believe you pay extra for the Bali beds at both the pool and beach. The palapas at the beach and shaded spots at the pool are on a first come basis!
What is the main pool atmosphere like? We were looking for chill but at least main pool with louder music and not elevator music ha
During our stay, the main pool was very much chill!. Like read a book and relax type of vibe. They did a few fitness activities and pool-side bingo but that's about it. The whole resort has that chill vibe. However, it can also depend on the people staying at that time and the energy they bring. If you're looking for more lively, Atelier may not be it.
Quick question? How did you get from the airport to the resort and viceversa?
We have booked a transfer to and from through: Kalido and Travicons. They've both had good service! Also make sure to book well in advance.
Great video thanks for all the tips. We plan on going soon
Happy to help! Have a wonderful vacation 🏖
Did you make reservations just for dinner restaurants or do you recommend doing it for breakfast/ lunch as well
I believe reservations are only for dinner. On your arrival, I would go ahead and make your dinner reservations for the next three days or so!
Believe it or not, it was me, my wife,my daughter and your grandparents living as the only residents in a completely new building in Armenia. Wonderful people. We miss them. Enjoyed a New Years with them. The greatest place in Earth.
What a small world!! Thank you for the kind words ❤ Armenia was truly beautiful!
Thank you for this! Its our first trip and really tirn between VIM & SPM
Oooooh that does sound like a tough choice. Good thing is that you can choose one and come back for the other one 😉
can i ask about tipping? we are from germany and will go there for the first time soon! How much and when did you tip? I am asking because the tipping culture is SO different here. And did you tip in pesos or USD?
Tipping can be confusing. We're one of the go with what you feel comfortable tipping within your budget!
We just booked a trip for December 2024 and we’re so excited! Do you have any tips for navigating the Cancun airport during Christmas?
YAY! I'm excited for you! You will be going during one of their busiest times of the year, this may mean lots more people to go through immigration=longer lines. There are automated Kiosks to the far left when you go down to immigration BUT you need to fit this criteria: E-Passport, staying less than180 days, passport from Canada, USA or Mexico, over 18yrs old, Tourism and traveling with no kids. Then you can use these, it will print out a receipt, you need to KEEP THIS RECEIPT as they will ask for it when you're ready to come home. Otherwise, use the regular immigration lines. They try and do a good job at moving it along! After immigration is baggage claim, if you check a bag, expect to wait for your bag up to 2hrs! (i've heard horror stories like this) So if you're able to, bring just a carry-on, it will safe you time! After baggage claim, just keep walking towards the exit and ignore all the people asking you if you need a ride. If you requested transport they will be outside, usually with a sign but keep in mind theres TONS of people so just wonder around until you find your transfer. Overall I'd say, come mentally prepared with your patience at full capacity and remember you'll soon be at the beach sipping on a delicious drink! 🍹🏝 Hope that helps!
This was incredibly helpful thank you so much for sharing! This will be our first time on an international flight, and we’re a bit nervous, so we are very grateful for the tips and tricks!
@@lizzy2263 You will do great! Don't be nervous and everyone there is friendly, workers and other tourists 😁
I really want to go visit Rita!!!!
Do it!!! It's a cute day trip.
Nice! Beautiful!
Thank you!
