This is probably one of my favorite songs regarding Lord X. Mostly because, its been one of the biggest things that helped me forge my own headcanon of what I think Lord X is like. In my view, X isnt exacty evil, at least not in the way you think. True he is evil in action, but only in our view. X was born within The Void. A place of nothingness. No time, no space, no life, nothing. X in general was never meant to be made, hes simply an off chance, a mistake of creation. I say that to truly say, I believe this is the exaxt reason for why he does what he does, and takes so much joy in it. X in spirit, isnt evil. Because he wasnt created natrually or even within creation itself. Thus, our concepts, such as good, evil, morality, none of those are applicable to X. Its not like he knows what hes doing is evil and simply surpresses it for his own joy, he literally isnt bound by those kind of universal laws or concepts. To him, good, evil, morals, theyre simply a choice. Optional. On to my reason for saying all of that, is because I think X can be compared exactly to a child who is a fan of Sonic, as thats also what X is. Once you do, you can see how that is. X is entranced by the beauty of creation, of life itself, and takes joy with it. However, its his dark matter and VOID matter nature that naturally inclines him to project himself in a negative manner, in our eyes. A child may dress up as Sonic because they like him and the franchise that much, to show that joy. X, has done the same thing, only in a more extreme way to us. Hes created an entire body, a vessel to mimic that of Sonic. A child may collect diffierent Sonic figures and play with them, prized toys to enjoy to their liking. X again, has done the same, only, he views souls and real lives the same way a child does those toys. To him, hes not tormenting or hurting anyone out of evil or malevolence, hes genuinely just playing with them as his toys. I also think the reason X traps his victims within the vessels of Sonic characters is also applicable to this comparison. A child may want their friends to join on their game, maybe even roleplaying as different characters. X again, does more or less the same, by putting other people in the bodies of Sonic characters, sharing his "game" with them. They see him as a monsterous tormentor, but he may genuinely see them as his friends. As playmates. The biggest thing i got from Trichael however, is X's very outlook on life. X _loves_ life, he absolutely adores it, because it has so many things he in his nature is without, things we may take for granted. Colors, sight sound, smell, feelings, pain, music, food, countless things we have, good or bad, X truly enjoys and wants for himself. Which is also why I don't think X ever would truly kill or erase his victims, or anyone, and why he sounds so fearful of it in this song. Death is the very absence of life, its the opposite of what X has grown to be fascinated by. It is said that X may be eons old, but only came to our world in recent decades. I imagine "living" a life of floating in nothingness, as a simple mass of matter, without thought, goal, or purpose, is something X never wants to go back to. He probably views death as something even worse. As he himself says in the song, in the end, X is truly and simply, _joyous to be_ he is grateful and happy to simply exist. To die is to no longer exist, so that is something that truly terrifies him. My point is, while yes X is a hell spawn from The Void who does unspeakable things, and has no pity or regret for them, underneath the surface, i think hes simply a being who became truly entranced and in love with life, and as a fanboy to Sonic The Hedgehog. For reasons why specifically Sonic, who knows. Perhaps he was interested in the idea of a world, a person, who is as optimistic, humble, happy, and determined as Sonic, someone who runs through thick and thin, through good or bad, in the world he lives. In the end, X isnt a villain, but also isnt someone of good as we know. He simply is. He found life, something that gives him true happiness, and he had a hell of a time enjoying himself with it. In the end, he was a being who was merely joyous to be. To exist.

I imagine that X is so sick and twisted that despite being in terrible agony due to his dying body he genuinely found the concept of death(or even his death) so fascinating that he was actually excited, and this skin perfectly captures that. He politely waits for his turn and when it's his time to move he frequently bows to BF and even extends his arms for either an embrace or to give BF the center stage. Well done.

Let's be completely honest here, Lord X never treated his Sonic vessel very well. He LITERALLY rips his skeleton arm out of his mouth in his Cycles up pose for no reason, no wonder it's decayed so quickly.
