Yeah , thanks for not showing the pump draining part, I got unit off the truck Iike you shown in video, I checked screens there clean good shape, 👍 I opened drain plug and that wasn't funny 😮 I got blasted in right shoulder in my coat darn it with hydraulic fluid , had bit pressure I did realize this, So now I got find out how get darn plow pick up shaft down release it too float mode
This pump showed up for me to fix without the truck so I didn't realize it can store pressure. To be honest, I don't know much past what you see in this video about these pumps but I'm sure I could figure it out. I have another video that may help you. ruclips.net/video/3vBLir_09I0/видео.html
@Rapsgarage Hi, from Don, I figured the Meyer pump it runs fine with manual, I had to use my garden tractor 12v battery hook it up to positive from battery to pump motor positive, then ground the pump to battery, then just click each solenoid on the positive wire, they all work, then I found out the black wire was the down solenoid, So with Ratchet strap hooked on chair real tight over the piston top with me touching black wire it went down as long as the red and black was together I could Ratchet the piston all way down , So what was wrong with mine water was in it bit and froze So No fluid would flow, I drained it all out let it set dripping out , then refilled it, 1" 1/2" from top using black zip strip as dip stick and it's back working fine 😀 I filled pump with VP Ultra J20A Hydraulic fluid it's good from -10° too 95° from Tractor Supply 2 us gal was lot cheaper than Meyers pump fluid
Bought a new Twin Fire II coil that comes in Dynatek 2000i set. Primary coils have good resistance, BUT secondary is 38.x kOhm. Verified with 2 new multimeters, one of them is Fluke. Is it a bad one???
It sounds like it’s good. You can always call Dynatek and they can give you a better answer than me. Thanks for watching and if you need any further help, please let me know.
I'm sorry bro.. but I just can't watch you anymore . You just went ahead and assembled this entire trans and NOT a DROP of assembly Lube my britha not a drop ?????????????? did you read somewhere that your supposed to put this together DRY ??????????????????????????????
I didn’t state in the video but I did put a light coat of oil on the wear points. You can see it on my fingers. Also not stated is I fill the bike with oil and rotate the rear wheel to per lube the trans. If you watched any of my other transmission build videos you see my lubing them. This was a quick video for this bike and an afterthought. If you’re finding other peoples videos that you’re happier with that I understand. Thank you for watching

How many psi normally oil pressure to harley evo? Because my harley high pressure
Normal pressure varies a good bit depending on how hot the bike is. Idle cold can be 60 psi. Hot it could be 5 psi at idle.

Straight to the point, no-nonsense content as always.👌 I had to set my squish with soft lead solder (0.060” thick) which entailed a little more assembly since I don’t have access to a dial test indicator or a depth-mic. 👍

@@JohnOlatunji-u4r not at all. Sorry I’m unable to help you with that.
Will this work with 83 fxsb 4 speed with primary belt ?
If it uses this style clutch, it will. A lot of times the belt manufacturers have their own set up and you don’t need this. You would have to pull it apart and look at it to see. If you need any more help, let me know and I’ll give you my email address and you could send some pictures.
@@Rapsgarage Thanks... Stay tuned
Wow that was a smart fix using a washer to push out the gear! I'm sure I would've wasted time and money buying new kicker gears when $1 washer solved the problem. Nice! Is this the transmission in your knucklehead now?
Yes. This is the transmission in and my knuckle and the washer still on it and it all works perfectly fine. Thank you for watching. I appreciate your support.
@@Rapsgarage Nice! So it's doing the job for ya that's great. You mentioned it doesn't rotate so you know it won't wear out anytime soon ... beautiful, you cheated "the man" on that one! 🙂 Can I ask you a related transmission question? Do I absolutely need that expensive fork alignment tool? Can't I just use feeler gauges and measure to find the middle, then shim the forks if I need to? I can't rem if it was you or someone else said that you don't really need it, that there's a way to do it with the lid...? If I had a ratchet top I'd buy it bc it isn't too expensive ~$75 but for plate shifters like mine it's $165. I love tools but that's a lot of cash for something I'll probably only use only once maybe twice. Hope you had a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year 2025 to you and yours! And thanks for sharing your knowledge and experience your videos are a BIG help.
On the rotary top transmission, you can put the rotary top into the neutral position and then set it on the forks. After that you pull it off and you can eyeball it and see if they need to be moved to one side or the other. You can also use feeler gauges like you’re talking about, but if you move the fork when you hit it with the filler gauge, it could cause you to have readings that are wrong. Like I said, I’ve eyeball them and they’ve been fine. Let me know if this makes sense to you. If it doesn’t, I can explain it in a different way.
@@Rapsgarage Thank you yes that makes good sense I can see it would be easy to nudge the fork and not notice. It's good to know I can set the forks w/out tool. It shifts fine it just leaks like a mofo so I want to Glyptal the case I know that 1201 is good stuff. We got an oven for the shop now so I can bake it if they recommend it. Hopefully that plus a few other fixes should do the trick! Thanks so much for the replies and all the help. You got me psyched to seal up this leaky 4-speed once and for all.

@@Rapsgarage yeah, i done one of those oops moments, I've only been riding for a year since i brought Sammy boy, custom built chopper my very good old friend Sam built, he sadly passed two years ago, i enjoyed his company and taught me things only a old timer knew that is lost to the younger generation, a year before he passed, he did an oil change and took a ride, he came back trailing oil behind him, i told him what happened, without him being aware of it, he tells me "ah man, i pissed myself, damit," i told him "what the hell you drinking", so he had to strip the engine out and sent it to a friend to fix anything he might have damaged, when he got it back, he passed two weeks later, i felt like if the chopper was sold to someone else, his memory his soul, would be forgotten, so i bought it from his wife, in piece's spread about the garage, she laughed and told me, that she was pissed when he bring it home in boxes and now i got it to take home to piss off my wife, i never worked on or rode a motorcycle but, i do now, little by little i catch video of those who know they're shit and i learn from so i can keep Sammy boy roaring down the road, thank for you video and your time.
How in the hell do you get the rear pushrods off, i got the front off and done like you've shown but the rear just won't come out??????
I’ve had that problem before. You have to make sure you’re on the base circle of the cam. At that point I kind of pry it out. You’re compressing the spring a little bit or you push the hydraulic adjuster down a little bit and try and get some oil out of it. When you go back in, it’s much easier because you make sure there’s no oil in the hydraulic adjuster.
Already looking forward to the next one. 👍

Hello .....😊
in your humble opinion which tappets are better the ones with needle bearings or the ones with solid brass bushing?
@@dennytuma that’s an interesting question. I know on really high horsepower cars that they’ll switch from needle bearing trunnions on the rocker arms to brass bushings. on a Harley I didn’t even know that they made a brass bushing rollers for thetappets. I’ve always use the needle bearing ones. If it was cheaper to use the brass style Harley Davison would use them, but they’re also looking for longevity and they use the needle bearing style. I’m not sure how to answer your question but I would say I’m looking for longevity so I used a needle bearing style.
Hey Rap, I don’t want to give you an anxiety attack but those early head bolts (stamped CP) were known to stretch more than the later versions and can contribute to leaking base gaskets if not periodically checked for specified torque values from Cometic. All the best to you and yours, greetings from France.

I have an old Husqvarna 66. Before disability I really enjoyed cutting firewood, shop has wood stove. I have a nasty chain mark on my leg. Doesn't take but a second to do big damage.
When I was young, I worked at a small engine shop and I saw quite a few scars from different pieces of lawn equipment. It happens fast and no one intends to do it that’s for sure.

I remember my steel chainsaw I've had for years suddenly it started not no power acting up course I clean the carburetor and that didn't help and then I ordered a new carburetor which you can get them for like $0.50 lol that didn't help then somebody pointed out because it's two stroke The muffler could be all plugged by golly that's what it was it was all plugged up
I love getting stuff out of people's trash Heck I used to dive into dumpsters when I marked the department complexes. Funny story I always tell people I got my first rat when I found it in the dumpster by golly if the people didn't throw away the whole cage and the rats still in it. I brought it home the next day she was pregnant and had a bunch of little ones for many years I had rats. They're really not what people think.. a very clean animal
Yeah, I’ve dove into a few dumpsters myself. As far as the rats go I think I’m gonna have to pass. I’ve never really had any pets at any point in life so I’m not gonna start with a rat that’s for sure. 😂
@Rapsgarage yeah I've had tarantulas moles mainly as a kid. If I was a single person I probably would not have a pet it is a well they depend on you. I'm kind of a free spirit I think. But my wife she's always had dogs or cats. And after 45 years I don't think I'm going to change her. 🤔😁
