Adding a layer of varnish or sealer will definitely help. Although, once you bake the powder into polymer clay it will do a surprisingly good job of not coming off.

I am sorry, but I have never used Apoxie Sculpt before. You could use pretty much anything that is not too sticky to make a base. You could add baking powder to the base before putting on the clay which will help the clay come off easily.

@@jrosenbomb You can bake it on this putty because it has a really high temperature rating. A lot of silicons have pretty high temperature ratings, but you should always check the manual to verify. You definitely don't want this burning. Also, I recommend either baking it in a separate oven that you don't use for food or making sure it is food safe. I picked up a really nice used toaster oven for about $15 that I use for all my craft baking.

Hello. If you're using Papa's Clay, then you only need to cook it for 15 minutes. Most other polymer clay types will require about 30 minutes per 1/4 inch thickness of clay.

I am sorry I did not see this question for some reason. The newest version of this clay bakes at 265 for 30 minutes.

Any oven is great! Just make sure you are using a thermometer to verify the temperature and "dome" your creations if they are too close to direct heat source.

Papa's Clay is a polymer clay so once you bake it, you cannot be reused. And, the two part mold mix becomes permanent once you mix it, but you can reuse it tons and tons and tons of times as a mold for your ghosts. If you are looking for a reusable and non-permanent clay, I recommend that you try Sculpture Pro. Sculpture Pro is an oil based clay which can be reused over and over because it never dries and also never cures.

Papa's Clay only takes 15 minutes to bake! That is one of the many great features about it - and you can certainly bake it longer for very large pieces if you wish. You are right that most polymer clay brands take 30 minutes per quarter inch of thickness to bake, though.

You are so welcome! I'm not too sure about a toaster oven, but I can tell you what I know. Your clay will be much, much closer to the heat source with a toaster oven, so tenting it will be especially important. And, using a thermometer is still important to ensure you're not getting too hot. Good luck!

Hello Paula! You can mix Papa's Clay with other clays - check out this really comprehensive article from The Blue Bottle Tree about mixing polymer clays - thebluebottletree.com/can-you-mix-polymer-clay-brands. That being said - we have 36 colors and even more coming this year! And, if you mix Papa's Clay with a substantial amount of other clays it does start to lose some of the unique properties that make it so great like it's texture and flexibility.

Thank you. I will read the article. I agree that mixing Papa's Clay with other Papa's Clay colors will keep the integrity of this great clay. I'll try mixing, but will probably stick to Papa's Clay by itself.

Papa's Clay conditions with heat, so I'm not sure if all the pressure the Never Knead applies results in heat. But a hair dryer will condition it very quickly so you would not have to use your hands at all hardly. I'll make a video showing how easy it is to condition with a hair dryer. I'm only using the heat from my hands in this video, so you can imagine how much quicker it is with a hair dryer.

Make sure the part that you are blending is heated/conditioned well. If you can't heat it with your hands anymore then use a hair dryer. A little bit of oil helps too.
