Another video, directed by David Hogan. "Staring At The Sun" album. Filmed on location in New Orleans, as seen in the documentary "Fait Accompli", which I would say deserves a FULL stand alone release on Blu-Ray. Also, include the full concert that is shown in that documentary. :-)

This Album is not good. I think mark wasn’t the same. Maybe due his personal life or I don’t know
Mark King😍😍😍
What a soulful performance, ❤ this!
Level 42,000! Jakko's stunning solo killed the camera Mark IS King. His bass is not plugged in I want Dirty Loops to do these to get it all HD
Pre thumb tape
Great post WinMan42!
Somewhere there's a full recording with dune on it😢
That was marvelous "Level 42" from their beginnings, pure jazz-funk style that gone away after few following albums unfortunately.... Thank you for sharing, wonderful to see it!!! 10/10!!!
Love mark king ❤❤
"One off the wrist for you Pat" hahahaha!
Great to see this. Their shot at the big time and they play two instrumentals! Shame that the credits truncate Dune Tune - the full version may turn up onthe 'From the Vaults' programme. P.S. they were also played on John Peel - allegedly.
man this has to be one of the very best of the unreleased tracks.
Mark's voice was still beautiful in 1992.😍
I’ve never heard this before, this is wicked!! 😁👍
RIP happy birthday Phil xxx❤
That the bass i love what a great sound ❤
This is not a german tradition…😮😂

THANKYOU!!
amazing!!!!
Thank you Wins
I saw this tour live. Had this vhs. Played it to death.
On reflection this version is better ❤ But this era reigned for 42!
Merci pour ce document rare.
For a VHS tape nearly four decades old the video and audio are in top notch condition. Good work, and nice to see the band playing live on TV not miming. Which TV channel was this on?
_This_ was state of the art video recording in 1991? Really? I'm sure my VHS machine was better than that.
No sure who said this was state of the art, but it wasn't me LOL. This is from a very old, poor quality vhs tape. Would love to see if anyone else has a better copy.
@@winman42 My point, which I should have clarified, is that RUclips seems to be almost the only public outlet for music concert video these days, as physical media is close to vanishing. Why are we limited to such dismal quality recordings of music that has great personal and historical value? I suspect that the original professional master of this concert has long since been consigned to landfill which is close to criminal. We need a national archive like the US Library of Congress for these.
Oh dear... I remember this on the radio as the new Level 42 single. That _was_ just a couple of years ago, right?
Would love to see them play this live next uk tour! 🤙
Argh. Had this taped on Betamax(!) from when it was broadcast on the telly. The energy in this performance did/does raise the hairs on my arms. The solo Boon pulled out of his locker was very special I thought. He was the guitar hero version of a mate who doesn't talk much; but when he does, it's worth listening to. Massively influenced by his playing.
RIP Boon , these were the days i saw them many times ❤
Oh I remember this. When it was released I thought that synth trumpet riff was decidedly cheesy, being just too obvious a 'catchy hook' to get radio play. Still the case today. "1st single from the "Staring At The Son" album"? Whose son is being stared at, and should I call the authorities?
Klassiker.immer noch richtig gut.
The redhead in this video looks the spitting image of the young Carol Decker of T'PAU fame, although I don't think that's actually her. I wonder if they are related?
GOAT🔥
The production on this track is amazing. Great track
Mark King 😍😍😋😋🔥🔥
Filmed right in my neck of the woods, in Loozee-anna!😍
Mark King 😍😍😋😋🔥🔥
You're right to want the release of Fait Accompli, but who releases Blu Ray music videos these days? We are in the decline of high-quality music concert video, sadly. There might not be a business model for it any more. It means that most acts are seen on video only through fans' phones.
Great one Win! Did I say I have that drum kit now? ;) Ha!
Not sure I have heard that story. Been keep that info close to your vest huh? Lol
@@winman42 🤣🤣🤣
Great song.
Mark King 😍😍😋😋🔥🔥
I love this video for entirely unreasonable reasons. 😂
Mark King has style and flair. Mike Lindup has... well I'm sure I'll think of something.
This video made me a Level 42 fan 38 years ago. Thanks for making it look so good. The upscaling really works on that one.
The transitions are much more appreciated. Thanks Winman!
Not sure I understand what you mean.
@@winman42 Sorry, I didn't express myself well. I was referring to scene changes.
@@alnair8230 do you mean the guy in the white shirt? Lol
@@winman42 There are a lot of details to comment on 😂 like when Phil plays both cymballs when they don't sound in the song
Nice End.
