A note for research of this Kit. The Limited Edition 4 Pack, No. 5081, 2001. The 4 Kits dated 2000. Dr. Zira, No. 6804, the Instruction Sheet, reverse side, is blank. Not sure if this is a Variant or not...thinking someone may need to know.

Sorry I'm late, I just found out RUclips isn't sending me updates like I thought it would 😡 Anyway, I couldn't rememeber if I included the pan or not, so I went and pulled mine to take a look at the chassis and I did somehow manage to get it in there. Looking back over my videos, it doesn't look like it went in until late in the build, and that's jogging a faint memory that I was trying too hard to locate it. Something like I was trying to put it too far forward so that the side notches were right by the spring mounts, and that was binding everything up. Where I have it now, the leading edge of the pan is just barely under the tie rod...like the tie rod only goes back 1/3 of the way on the bulge at the front of the pan. It doesn't look like it lines up with anything I'd expect it to on the frame, but it fits perfectly agains the oil pan. Maybe this will help? Again, sorry for the late reply, this is looking good - love the weathered bottom! And yeah, that interior should have been black. Screw-up on my part, I was looking at it wrong and made a bad guess.

Stupid RUclips algorithm hasn't been showing me any of your video updates lately. Sorry to hear it was so frustrating, though a lot of it sounds exactly like the issues I had with mine...frustrating suspension fit, random gremlins, the works. But I too liked how the interior came out. Anyway, having been there, I'd say you acquitted yourself nicely.

With all of the attention the DB5 gets, it's nice to see the Mustang getting some love too. The scene of Bond chasing Goldfinger along Furka Pass in the Swiss Alps is one of my favorites in the movie. It's also probably the first time a Mustang was shown in a movie.

You’re “over it.” It’s very hard to see the paint issue, and I think it looks great. Maybe you’ve given me an idea of the color I want to do mine. Here’s a phrase I came up with for MY RUclips model channel, that I’ve been telling myself I’ll get going for the past five years, but it fits. Check it out. Here it goes. “Ain’t a fucking one without a flaw.” And there aren’t! I keep hoping for the grail build, but I always have setbacks, too. Had I peeled the paint off of one of mine, however, the Hovering Fist of Doom would have made an appearance. Your Cobra? I’m loving it. And the whitewalls look great. Who knew?

Well bummer but with the exception of the paint pulling off it looks awesome!!! Interior is gorgeous!!

Those crazy hoodlums and their motorcycles. lol. And Dirk, I have at least one catastrophe each build, usually more. lol. I feel the pain. And those wheels seem to be an issue. I’ve seen a couple builds with the same issue. Even some of the box art builds of this old kit have the wheels sticking out. But you’re doing great work. Saw someone mention STS decals. If you can get someone to scan a sheet they can for sure recreate what you need. I’ve used them before in this manner. Really do love this build.

Looking good, Dirk, despite the setbacks. Get with STS decals. They might have the decals on file or be able to reproduce them. Also Mike's Decals is a possibility.

Hey bud, I just bought this kit after watching you and there is quite a large decal sheet. Lots of stripes, numbers, powered by Ford and sponsors like Goodyear & STP etc. Don't know where to aftermarket stuff just wanted you to know there are decals in the box.

You need a sun visor from Year 1. Looks great though.

It's silly that AMT didn't include a phone inside this kit because it is included in the regular AMT 1957 T-Bird kit. You would think it would be easy for them to just include it.

I have a partially built version of this kit and I am missing 1 of the stock hub caps and the 2 parts for the rear tire holder...but I do have the chrome ring and the rear bumper extension. I know nothing of this show as I was 3 when it came out. I do have a few of the non-Vega$ versions of the kit I can pirate parts from, so I can restore the kit. But right now the whole thing looks like it was sitting on blocks in a wrecking yard! - Someone painted it metallic red, but then it was stripped down to grey primer and you can see bits of gold paint under the hood. The patina is awesome. LOL! Years ago, I built a fresh AMT 1957 T-Bird and painted it gloss dark green. Nice to see your video for references. Your build is good despite the simplicity of this kit that we all have to deal with.
