JLT Series 2 on 2019 Charger RT install and driving

Installed the JLT Series 2 cold air intake. Chose this one for a few reasons: good reviews, price, box with directed air flow. This box also has the snorkel port for an even more direct flow. Since I put the 305’s all around on the 20 x 11’s I noticed a decrease in mpg so after reading up I chose to go with the CAI to gain what I lost. For anyone planning to install this kit please read: In hindsight, I should have cut a little more on each fender. The height of the cut was perfectly fine, I just could have gone further down the fender both left and right of my cuts. Originally, I did not cut so far down the fender so that I had more of the mounts to clip the body panels into, which is still a good option if your driving cond...

Should I get the wide body wheels first before the kit?
I purchased mine all together but certainly would get the wheels mounted prior to install that way once you’re done it all looks correct right when you hit the road. Also, I’d cut a little more if you commit to it 🙌🏽

Nope nothing. All I did was install the wheels and tires, went home and did this video, everything else was factory fit.
can anyone point me in the direction of a shop that will do this?

That is a good idea! This project was for the people who couldn't necessarily afford that purchase and already had an RT or scat with some equity and was bold enough to go for it 👍

Do your tires rub because mine do or did the cutting help with it not rubbing?
The cutting certainly helped. Of course there is a little rubbing but a lot of it depends on your road conditions and driving

I have a vicrez widebody kit, but have had major issues with rubbing trying to run 305s all around.
Yea all of it depends on just how low you are paired with how bad your road situations are. I had minimal rubbing here and there but it certainly did rub
Honestly I was thinking about gettin a Gt but doin this to it. I don’t like v8s I love the gts with the scat pack body tho. But I want the wide body kit! U think I should go for it?
Man honestly I would just enjoy your GT. Lower it as low as you can and just pimp it. I say that for the sake of resale value. You wont get back any extra money that you dump into the car later on
@@charliebernis177so basically u saying only the hemis and up really hold there value? Because if so than I might just go for a scat pack if it’s going to hold its value! It’s pointless to dump money into something that’s pointless.
@@Po1300lsd 100%, they stopped producing all of their hemis and big engines in 2023 so any one of those you would get would certainly hold more value than any of their V6 models 👍

What is the size of the rims is it 20x11?
Is your kit the Hellcat Widebody kit or the Demon Widebody kit ?
The one I purchased was labeled "Vicrez Demon Wide body Fender Flares + Side Skirts vz102191| Dodge Charger 2015-2023" currently priced at $1,078 right now.

Would that tape really hold up in 80mph highway speeds
The reason I cut so little is so I could keep as many tabs to clip into along the wheel base as possible. The tape is basically just holding the top side to the car. Haven't moved on me
@@charliebernis177 I would recommend to be cautious. I have a Challenger and I installed a hellcat style spoiler. The kit came with 3m tape. In the summer the heat melted the tape and the spoiler was only being held by 2 bolts. So just be careful and check periodically it’s sound.

Nice work! I got one on my challenger and now am intrigued, are you using spacers to bring the tires out more or just the 305/35R20?
Thank you! No spacers! The rims purchased from Vicrez are offset on their own by -2.5mm which is how it's getting this stance I assume. Not just a normal 11 x 20 rim, but one with this offset. That rim mounted up with the 305's give it the factory look

A little here and there. That's mainly what I've been trying to tell people. With lowering springs like me, and only cutting as much as I did, the roads you frequent will determine how much rubbing you get. I rub every so often from bad road transitions but know how much more I need to cut. Just still have not done it

To those using the kits, especially the full kit with bumpers, know that you need new suspension or cut away fenders

By cutting the fender wouldn’t that weaken the structural durability and rigidness..???
I guess if you cut majority of the fender off, or around the whole fender well. Def not with the little I cut tho

@@GDinerothe rim itself has a 2.55mm offset which brings it away from the driving components behind the wheel

No, the wheels I purchased from Vicrez have a -2.5mm offset, then paired with how wide the wheel is made the right fitment

how much was the tires and the widebody kit separate
The body kit with the rims cost $2,258 (before paint), and the tires were right at $900. Kinda why I went this route, I was about to buy things a little at a time before doing the install.

Thank you for the comment. But yes I have experienced some slight rubbing from time to time. The reason I didnt cut more (left and right, not up into the car) is because of the clip points on the mount. I wanted to make sure the fender flares were as secure as I could possibly get them while also cutting to have more room for the tire.
@@charliebernis177 I have seen a lot of recent talk about how these Vicrez body kits are not holding up and are actually coming undone due to hitting bumps or the suspension dipping down hard and this is the common talk I have seen recently suggesting not to go this route. Have you experienced any harsh outcomes since installing these on your car and if so could you explain what had to be done to accommodate fixes etc?
@@4doorsmorewhores630 I'd say that if you're not fully committed to potentially having issues then don't commit to this kit. I personally have not experienced any issues with mine except for the fact that it rubs from time to time. If you live somewhere where the city or state actually takes care of the roads, you will not have any issues with this kit giving trouble at all (granted you took the time to apply the kit with care). The only harsh thing I deal with is knowing I cut the actual body of this car 😂 but then I go look at it and I'm relieved again. Like I said though this has been my personal experience, and when I eventually sell this car I will be sure the next man knows what he's getting and how to fix any issues.
