Thanks Nick, as it turns out your method for this model by far is the easiest. I first tried to take apart the unit as the Fixit website suggested. But that is not a viable solution, and the chances of breaking something is very likely (even for an electrician like me). Your method works. It is simple and by removing that piece of plastic you lose nothing.

I was watching just to study the test but after witnessing all that work I had to stick around and watch you get the belt put on because that was a sensational effort! You're probably on your brown by now but kudos either way!

You can, you can pry the top off gently without having to melt the tabs

I just used some long nose pliers to snap the plastic tab!

What Battery did you replace it with, can you use the UE Boom 2 Replacement Battery?

There should be a law for everyone on this planet, that you can replace batteries much easier in such items...

This was the first thing I should’ve done when replacing the battery 🤦‍♂️ two batteries later the distortion is still too much. Time for a replacement 😢

Congratulations on your promotion. I loved your speech, I also had to take a break from training for two and a half years after getting my blue belt due to work and financial reasons. I was able to start back in October last year and now I have to take time off again. But I wont ever give up on it permanently as long as I am able to train, I love it too much.

Is there anyone that knows this system who could write out the techniques in order of the video? Very long story, but I’ve been a blue belt for 8 years. Trained for 10 in total. The first 6 years I was on the mat for 6 hours a day, 5-6 days a week. Coaching at an MMA gym under an affiliated black belt who ended up being someone I didn’t want to get promoted by (due to a lack of integrity on a personal level). The last 4 years I’ve been traveling the country and haven’t been in one gym long enough to get promoted to purple belt. Now the place I’m at is a Pedro Sauer affiliate and has a list of techniques for the test… my only issue is matching the techniques to the names of the techniques. That’s why I found this video- but some of the audio is difficult to hear. So if there IS ANYONE that would be willing to write them out in order as they appear in this video is would be a gigantic help for me!!

If you want to replace the battery and reuse the circuit board attached to the battery, then you'll need to do some soldering. You'll need a 3200 mAh 18650 tabbed battery. I think this route is best because a lot of the reviews of the battery kits claim that the batteries are very short lived. It's typical for Chinese sellers to overstate the capacity of batteries. Get a branded battery (Samsung/LG/Panasonic) from a reputable source and avoid this skullduggery.

Use a "elektronischer Seiten Schneider" to cut it without heat. Thanks a lot ;)

Happy for you. But I know black belts that would sweep that entire room, but would fail this test. Not the best of ways.
