We're heading to the North Channel in Canada in 2 weeks so we decided to do a shakedown trip. Our goal was to accomplish a couple boat jobs and practice sailing the boat as it's still new to us. Overall, great sucess.

Toyota Sienna Minivan Camper Shower Build. DIY campervan water system
Просмотров 8 тыс.3 года назад
Here's a quick video detailing our water system/shower build before we head out on our last big van trip of the year. We 3d printed some parts and gathered up a bunch of fittings to make it happen. With our off grid water system we hope to spend some more time off the beaten path next summer with the ability to take quick showers and rinse the dirt off the doggo. If you haven't seen our other v...

I used an old 400 watt inverter also and it can power a small Dash waffle maker. should be awesome for my Sienna minivan camper since it takes up so little space. I went a little full on extra for this build and welded up my frame out of some steel I had. I built a rear kitchen that stows totally in the rear seat well and raises up for use with an electric actuator. I hope you find some inspiration from this build and post comments if you have any questions or suggestions for improvements. I got a lot of help on RUclips when I wanted to build so I hope i...

    I need help, when I accelerate, the engine is making small jerks, and the bike doesn't move, it just moves after being in motion, I'm using a 6384 motor with a 15-tooth pinion reduction with a 60-tooth gear, connected to a shaft , this one has an 11-tooth pinion and a 54-tooth crown, 48v battery, thumb throttle, vesc 75100

    When I started boating in the 1960'S. I never saw hardly any American boats. Then the internet came along, Then I guess one looper went up the Trent canal to Georgian Bay and the North Channel. Well I guess word got out on the net and loopers started going that route. In my 50 years of boating in that route I met so many super nice people from all over the USA. Shared dinners and camp fires swapping stories. Well age and health caught up with me and now I watch videos from people like yourselves. So thanks for sharing,

    Nice video. It does highlight the difference between a big sailboat and a trailerable power boat. We can leave our slip in Ludington in the morning and pull into Killarney by noon! We then like to take two weeks to work our way back.

    Badass dude. Getting into diy ebike stuff now and the vesc controllers seem cheaper and smaller/better than most ebike controllers. You still messing with vesc based ebike builds? Looks like the only part that takes some modding is the pas, are there decent 40-80a cheap vescs with good pas?

    • @scottjoyce85
      @scottjoyce85 Год назад

      I'm not sure what you mean by pas. I definitely think VESC controllers are a good option as long as you keep them cool. Some of the flipsky options have pretty good heatsinks now it seems. I definitely recommend getting the Bluetooth dongle for adjusting settings and monitoring temps.

      @@scottjoyce85 sorry pas = pedal assist [sensor], and I was trying ask if you had become aware of any vesc's with easier integration of pedal assist in the years since this video was made. I'm struggling to find clear videos on the subject but there may be plenty on endless sphere that I haven't found yet

    Sorry for all the questions. I just discovered your video and also happen to have taught myself battery-building and welding during the pandemic. What size cells did you use in your LiFePo battery? They don't look like 18650's. You mentioned it's a 4s 15p setup. So that means for 12V with 4s each cell's nominal voltage must be about 3V. What's the capacity?

    • @scottjoyce85
      @scottjoyce85 3 года назад

      Congrats on battery building! It's pretty fun. These cells are 26650 K2 cells from batteryhookup.com. You're right about 4s being around 12 volts. Nominal voltage is 3.2 for these cells and their individual capacity is 3,800 mah so it's around 57 AH at 12 volts.

  • @wayman88
    @wayman88 3 года назад

    What size and type metal did you use for the bed frame? What kind of welding did you use? I assume mig.

    • @scottjoyce85
      @scottjoyce85 3 года назад

      I guess I don't know the exact measurement for the angle iron. Probably 1.5 inch and 3/16 thick. I also tig welded it. Not because it needed it but just to practice.

    • @scottjoyce85
      @scottjoyce85 3 года назад

      To be honest though. By the time you buy all the parts for this. It probably makes sense to buy one. I don't think I'll use this for much anymore. It worked well for smaller stuff but when I was building a 60 cell pack I burned up a solenoid and had to keep the battery on a charger to have enough power. As well as take a lot of breaks. The quality is hard to control also. I first built this when I was doing small 4 cell packs for drones but it's not very good for doing bigger packs.
