Traxxas Sledge Blowing Out Tires? Give These a Try!
Very obvious downgrade. Turns UDR into a big Slash. Nit a desert car at all now. Call it a Mod , not an Upgrade
Every video so far, you repeat yourself in the beginning about how don't want your videos to be too long Yet you don't wanna take the time to edit it. So we don't have to watch you fiddling around with a screw and dropping it and trying to pull it out with needle nose pliers for 5 minutes...
Thank you so much
What tyres are you running? They look ok. You happy with them? Thank you 🙏🏻
I chose the XRT but haven't drove it yet as I sold the stock electronics while new still. Waiting for stuff to come in. I think I'd like to get a 8s Outcast instead of the xmaxx for a stunt truck
Just ordered mine and it came with the armma box!
💭🤔 So what’s the part number for the receiver box that you got from Hammer didn’t see it in a link?
bro were you baked af when you made this and thought it was a good idea to add music to the video?!?!?...
The background music is super annoying, but I appreciate the effort and the content:)
What rear diff did you use? I’ve had my UDR for a few months and my rear diff went out after I put a 34t pinion it 😂🤣 Typing this I just realized WHY! 🤦🏾♂️ It went out.
what are your diff fluid weight?
Are the sledgehammer tires direct Bolt on?
Yep! Traxxas even makes a set that come on the stock xrt wheels
Another question. Have you had any experience with the Sledge? Thoughts??? Thank you again.
Sledge is a great vehicle if you upgrade the servo.
@ Doesn’t the new Sledge come with the upgraded servo already?
@@flhandster4395 Doubtful. I bought mine a year or so ago and it didn't then. It runs fine without the upgrade but eventually you will probably want to upgrade it. That's the way I guess with a lot of RCs. It's not like it won't run with the stock servo. It just responds so much faster with an upgrade.
@ Mine has the 2275 servo. Looking forward to the great adventure. Thanks for your replies. 😎🙏🏼
@@flhandster4395 I'm pretty sure that is the cheap servo. If you get a chance or the money later on upgrade it to a top of the line traxxas servo. It's worth it. It turns the car into to something brand new.
So, I have a quick question. What's your recommendation between the standard XRT and the XRT Ultimate? Have you done any aluminum upgrades to your XRT? If so, what have you upgraded since this video? Thank you in advance for your time and reply.
One thing to consider is that all the aluminum on the ultimate is 6061 which bends quite a bit easier than a 7075 aftermarket upgrade you can u would get on your own. In some areas that may not matter much like the wheel hexes. But structural parts 7075 is far better. Plus the ultimate has a bunch of stuff done to it that increases cost but not value (like a better crappy servo).
@ Interesting…. haven’t heard anyone bring the aluminum type up as a potential negative. 🤔😨🧐 Thanks!
The ones I purchased required the steel drive axles
Dude, your driving is terrible. you need to exercise a bit
I got a trx4m for 200$ new but it came with a bag of aftermarket parts, about 150$ worth of mods, and i gave an extra 40 for some really nice 3 piece wheels and tires weighted brass, have anothe 70$ in parts in my amazon cart and itll be where yours is exactly, for about 300 bucks. Then i plan to spend 100 on the combo for aftermarket brushless kit (60$) plus new remote and reciever and all that from injora, so itll be where yours is at plus brushless setup for 400 finished, but then i might get a 2nd body thats more capable than my defender body
what company did you order the qs8 to Traxxas connector from ?
How much was it
Hi, with this setup do you use the original Traxxas differential bevel gears?
Nice i got the same wheels with m2c hubs
The servo arm I got didn’t fit it was to big did the hon fit just rite ?
Is this with full stock suspension on your MAXX V2, or is this after you installed the stiffer springs? I’m asking because I just ordered a MAXX V2 and am already looking into replacing the rear shocks with the Sledge rear shocks to decrease the rear chassis slap that the MAXX is notorious for. Thank you! Great video
I’ve had the xmaxx for years and loved it super durable. I bought the xrt about a week ago and the motor is already burned up. It broke the spur and pinion twice calling Traxxas today hopefully they take care of me
Somebody make a video for reliable XRT for somebody to don’t beat the fuck out of their RC. Just wanna take their grandkids out. Do a couple jumps and bats just baby stuff.
For strict reliability, IMO, just throw an after market wing mount with through bolts on it, and aluminum motor mount washers and your good to go. If doing frequent jumping or jumping in weird terrain, ide recommend at least the shock caps. Stock wing mounts strip all the time, again in my opinion, the motor mount washers help keep the gears from stripping.
First thank you for making the video, second you narrate a good video... but we have no idea what you're doing with the camera so far away in the dim lighting. We don't need to see you, we need the camera close up to what you're doing with light on the subject broski
I need these bolts!!! My garagelife bumper mount has tossed the bolts that I used. So it's all floppy now! Sadly, the link you shared is dead. :(
Try searching for wing mount bolts or pass through bolts. Maybe it will lead you in the right direction.
@@sarversrc I actually located the original bolt that came with it. Apparently, I used the stock bolts that were from the part I replaced. My bad. Now it's all fixed! :) (Thank you so much for this video though, it helped me understand my situation)
Thanks for the video, good content but couldn't see a thing with camera so far away and poor lighting
I do my best to get an overview so you can see the whole car, and up close if need be or I remember. Just one man with one camera 🤷🏼♂️
So what receiver box is it? Never added it to the description 🤷
It’s a Arrma rx box. GPM has the part# on their website with the kit.
I’m so glad you made this video I got gpm I almost did m2c but I liked the gpm look better I’m ordering a esc mount right now awesome
I’m really happy with it.
I also just did this I also got gpm chassis braces and gpm shock towers boy she heavy now very nice parts
I want them in green and haven’t been able to find both in stock at the same time.
I also had a hard time getting Bolth got some of eBay and some I ordered from gpm took about 3 weeks to get them I just got my M2C esc mount worked perfectly
love this video I would like to see more xmixx comparisons
Trying to get everything out and back in to it since moving.
You might have the same disease I have. It's called not stock syndrome. I built an xmaxx ultimate with to motor and ESC and an xrt with a low geared high kv hobbywing motor/ESC. Went and bought a used stockish xmaxx for playing since mine were too fast for my small yard. Here I go again adding more parts to make it better. It a very satisfying hobby but dam. I can't stop and I'm already an old man. Good luck brother and new subscriber.
Appreciate the support! I think I honestly enjoy researching, picking parts, and building them more than anything.
@@sarversrc same. Each one is different
I prefer the locked diff. It drifts so much better on pavement than my maxx slash. You just got to know how to control the throttle
Fun both ways. But when it bites on pavement locked, hello rollover lol.
Don't forget to put thicker diff lube if you going high speed
Believe I put 100k in it per an article I read. Thing rips
@@sarversrc the fluid is to keep the wheel from ballooning the more teeth you add you will get more acceleration and more rpm when you add the diff now the thicker one will reduce the wheel from over ballooning
Put thicker doff fluid it will stay down
Got 100k I believe in it now.
@@sarversrc ohk try 500k
What city is this in. Looks like the high desert
Bakersfield CA
Have both the Sledge and XRT. Sledge is peppy but XRT is more stable. Biggest difference is I feel the XRT is simply more durable (have hardened metal gears in both) simply because the gear-train is mainly sealed whereas the Sledge it’s open to debris. What’s needed is an aftermarket part to cover/mount the pinion, spur, center diff, for the Sledge. What metal spacers are talking about with the XRT, what do they fix/prevent?
I hear cover would be nice on the sledge. Should be the Traxxas aluminum motor washers. Just stiffens up the mounting points and I’ve never had mesh issues. I believe this is why.
Do those fans go into the rx?
Yes I have them to the rx. Can run off a separate battery if you wanted too.
Whats your torque setting?
Stock on the sledge.
Which horn is that?
Believe this particular one was hot racing and has to be 25t
What motor support you hve. Nice rig!!!!
Got it off of eBay. Same company also sells a motor mount and believe you can get it as a combo pair.
How do we see what you’re doing from this distance ??
It’s give and take. Up close and you miss anything outside what’s zoomed in. Overview, and apparently people are missing some fine details. Trying to do my best and meant as a guide!
Have you had any issues with the fans running off your receiver pulling to much amps?
I haven’t, the upgraded receiver can take extra voltage, the upgrades esc is built to supply it.
Hey im doing pretty much the same build about 85% all GPM parts. What receiver box did you use?
It’s an arrma receiver box. GPMs website lists the part number needed.
Where did you get the QS8 to TRX splitter? Looking to run this same setup on my XRT.
They have them on eBay.
Is the gray wire positive or negative on the servo?
Not sure. I just tried looking and can’t tell. I would take the cover off but with how mine is set up, it’s not a quick process to get to the receiver.
Just happen to me right now i just put in the 3rd channel and it works
So frustrating after all the work lol.
You mean put throttle wire to 3rd channel not throttle channel on receiver @@sarversrc
@@sarversrc you mean put throttle wire to 3rd channel
Ok sorry man can't stand to watch this video because of the music. Not sure why it would be so loud.
Editing error. One day maybe I’ll film a whole new video.
Nice video
Thank you, appreciate the support
