Project Franken-Burb Ep. 2
Просмотров 1,9 тыс.5 месяцев назад
We continue to slowly bring this pile of scrap parts back to life. This project started out in episode 1 as a 1970 body without a useable frame, and a separate 1972 frame with a useable body. We combined the two as the basis for our Franken-Burb creation. In this episode we will get rid of the rigor mortis by freeing up a stuck wheel. We also replace one of the doors with a door off of another ...

Cutting up the Old 1972 Chevy Parts Suburban
Good times , a couple of good deals I say , On Early Friday a clean 78 blazer on a trailer was sold before the guy could get it parked , at 8am they were exchanged the paper .
Yep, we missed that one. Normally, we get there Thursday night but had to wait until Friday this year because Sawyer had a football game.
Another good vid Guys. I love it when you show us what you all bought. The Pontiac purchase is the best. well done young Fella and thanks Dad for helping him out. Legend. Make sure you follow through on it Sawyer. Thats a cool car. Make it live again Bro..
We cleaned the Firebird out last weekend. Other than the roof rust around the windshield and the typical Floorplan rust, the old girl isn't too bad. Sawyer has big plans but knows it's going to take a ton of time and money to bring her back!
You ask the boys to show what they bought and you just talk right over them, other than that nice job
That was a good video all right Sawyer that’s cool. I’m a big Pontiac guy myself. I’ve had all kinds of fire birds right now. I got GTO’s and big Pontiac. I think it’s really cool. Him fixing up that car. Keep on rocking guys.
Hi Steve! Sawyer is so stoked to get that Firebird. We might need your Pontiac expertise on the rebuild of the old bird! Sounds like you have one heck of a Pontiac collection!!
Wish i was there.. i would have gone mad buying stuff. Saw a guy selling lots of tools, i am after snap on or matco or Mac tools. Licence plates and a car to ship home to australia. Love your shows and your boys are great kids. I didnt like that All black chevy pickup... i hate all black body and painted chrome and badges and black wheels. Its ugly and kinda sad looking. Steve in Australia
Hi Steve! Haha. Yeah, it sounds like a lot of the stuff that you like to buy was at this meet. I think you are talking about the black primered truck. I'm not big on the primered vehicles, but my wife loves the look of them for some reason. The biggest problem I have with black cars is that they always look dusty.
I love the video You guys got such a great channel. I really look forward to watching it. Tell Keegan well done with the grill Sawyer and Keegan are so knowledgeable about them old cars you got some good kids. Look forward to part two.
Thank you very much, sir! Comments like yours are why we have so much fun creating these videos. The boys love sharing their knowledge about old cars, which already exceeds my own old car knowledge. Part 2 will be up this evening or tomorrow morning. It's a lot more of the Conroe meet "stuff" and a lot less Conroe meet cars.
Love your shows.. your a great family also.. i watch every one . i watched a replay of a recent Barret Jackson Auction in Arizona this week ,, Cars were 1/2 the price they were pulling 2023,2022. AND they were SOLD. Theres not a lot of money around this year. steve in Australia
Thank you for the kind words! Your comments mean a lot to us.
GREAT VIDIO
I always loved the sequential signal lights that Ford/Mercury produced
I first noticed them on a Mercury Cougar. I wanted them on my 66 Riviera. So, I went to a ford dealer and asked how much the unit was to control the sequential tail lights. Now just remember that this was in 1966/1967 prices. The quote for one unit was $250.00! I almost passed out. I mean all it was was a box with a motor some cams and micro switches. I found a solid state one for $29.95. It worked real well after I added another brake circuit for three lights on each side.
I love you. ❤️ I love you. ❤️ I love you. ❤️ $ have some great time. I love your work and mom and dad 👨 and I love you ❤️ 😍 💗 💕 💖 and the world. ❤😂🎉😢😮😅😊
I love you. ❤️ I love you. ❤️ I love you. ❤️ $18,000.00 and miss your beautiful family. I love your new baby 👶 and I want me and I love you. ❤️ ❤😂🎉😢😮😅😊
thank u for showing the shoe boxes.
I am watching these trips you 3 guys do time and time again. I would like to see the young fellow restore that honda, paint it all up original colours and decals, you can put another $300 into detailing it and sell it for $2000 and get into a newer crf 230 honda or a tt200 yamaha. Get a 4 stroke, there easy to maintain.
I would love to see that, too. I keep telling them to focus all their money on getting one motorcycle done, but they keep buying more project bikes and not parts for the ones they already have, unfortunately.
$450 for a pep boys 1qt?? Good ole Hershey.
Haha! I saw that price while editing the video. Whoa!
Great video thanks.
20:35 liked the signage. Awesome walking tour
Love all your Videos, the Swap Meets and filmed really good and great to see carefull camera work on the Prices. Keegan will be old enough to join the Marines soon,,,,, OMG,,,,,,,,,only joking,,,,,, i would love to go to a big Swap meet with you guys in 2025, i would even pay you to take me. I am looking at buying a car or 2 to import. I have an 82 z/28 restomod i built and is right hand drive.. and an obs 93 GMC 5.7 chev 2x4 extra cab in right hand drive. both were grey imports. i had the camaro since 2000. Steve in Sydney Australia.
Thanks, Steve! The boys are growing fast, so I'm doing as much car stuff with them as I can before they grow up and move out. The big US swap meets are fun. You should definitely make the trek someday. Sounds like you have some nice GM vehicles! We have a couple more swap meet videos coming soon for you.
Some great buys guys
I am allways a GM guy but i will say the mustang parts people really sell everything... I can not buy quality 1982 Camaro interior pars but you can guarantee 1982 mustang parts are reproduced. 82 camaro parts i have bought are cheap chinese poor fitting junk that often turns up broken or breaks fitting them. steve in Australia.
Those , horseshoe saddle looking mounts you showed ,,are for the bell housing mounts on my 1969 And my1968 stick 465 4 speed bell housing rear mounts the front mounts are the same as the other 1967-72 bigblock motor mount’s, I think , my front mounts are wrong too, as I put 1977 Chevy c20 motor mounts in the front, and those hold the front of the engine higher in the front, thanks BigAl California
Thanks for shedding some light on the mystery of those motor mounts BigAl. I fought those darn mounts for 2 or 3 hours before I realized what was going on!
That was a really good video. I’m glad that Keegan is going big block worried about y’all with all the weather down there Have you done anything more with the black truck? Glad to see you guys.
Thank you! I'm glad you liked it. The hurricane was stressful, but we got through it relatively unscathed. Keegan really wanted a big block since the frame we used was from a big block truck. I almost did an update on the black Blazer. I guess I should. I have been buying up parts for it and moved it from my parents' property to my property. Unfortunately, no wrench turning on it yet. We haven't posted much lately but I'm hoping to get a lot more content posted this fall. As always, thanks for watching and commenting on our little videos!
its hard to Imagine paying so much for a roller.
You never told 1966 Chevy Caprice two doors
WoW man 4250.00 what a crook. All day every day in 210 a mustang like that easy 15oo⁰⁰ roller
Seeing and listening to your boys in a junk yard give me just a more faith in the youth and the future of our country. Thanks for sharing this.
Miller Mary Brown John Hall Eric
Nice to see family enjoying swap meets together cool
I have been watching these swap meet videos for years and saw just about everything. This guy and them 2 amazing young kids are the best, Dad shows everything i want to see and the kids are well mannered, very well dressed and real American kids. Do MORE VIDEOS,, i love the steady camera work and even models like the OBS trucks get filmed where everyone else wont show them. I HAVE A 93 GMC,,,,,,, Steve in Australia.
Thank you for the kind words, Steve! We have a blast making these videos and are thrilled that other folks like them, too! We will try to get more videos for everyone. Unfortunately, this summer was hectic, and we didn't film as much as we would have liked, but we should be ramping up our content soon. I am glad that you like us showing the alternative classics. Some folks complain about it, but we like to cover a wide range of classics.
the price of parts and professional services out strips the cost of the build.. its cheaper to buy a finished vehicle. 59 chevs are now pulling over 100k,, 15 years ago $40k
that place looks miserably cold,, the rust on some cars is insane, and not worth fixing with todays prices for professional help. I agree with the young fellow regarding clowns sanding nice paint to try for the so called patina look. so called PATINa is RUST in my world and im not into scruffy lookin so called "bad ass" fake looks. I see that stuff and walk on bye. The red/orange looking 57 was a good price and easy to make real nice. the early 1970,s firebird with the 455 engine advertised was a pretty good starter to build up a great classic. Unless it was modified inside or had rust underneath from Salt on roads. Steve in Australia. thanks for showing the prices and steady camera work was great.
Thanks, Steve. I'm glad you like the camera work. Sometimes, I get into the moment and have to remind myself to keep the camera steady. The weather was chilly but not too bad. Yeah, most project cars around here are usually pretty rusty.
buying a project truck is insane, stop sucking up.
IF youre still interested in square bodies, i have a connection here. He is a square body collector.
We are always in getting information on more collectors and collections!
Oh wow, when you showed that Subaru Brat and the dealer emblem on the back I remember when it was still Bass Chevrolet. One of my buddies worked in the parts department and was still there when Bass sold out and it became Peters in the early 2000s. I live in Kilgore, grew up in Gladewater.
Thanks for letting us know that. It's always great to hear some of the history behind these old cars.
Gotta follow along on this project, I have a 57 Ford F600 Grain truck I got a while back, 352 motor. I'll keep my eye out for other Chevy's around here for ya, you keep your eye out for the Fords for me. central TX here too.
Those old grain trucks are cool! I always wanted one but haven't ever pulled the trigger. We will keep this project moving along, but updates won't be lighting quickly, so please bear with us. Let me know if you find a stash old old bow ties! I will let you know if I find a stash of old blue ovals!
ctc is very pricey but they have good stuff. most stuff is 2500 and up
I live 20 minutes from this place and have always wanted to stop by - thanks!
Hope you guys are OK with all that bad weather you’re having right now stay safe
Thanks for asking about us. Yes, sir! We are good. Lost power for 5 days, but other than that, no problems. Took a break from everything, but we are back working on the old trucks.
Bros...Anyone who knows where to check for parts or a whole Belvedere '58 2door...?any scrapyard, barn, field even cave(lol)...anywhere...it will be appreciated because we are kinda desperate Thank you
I you contacted browns and they didn't have one I would look for classic car junkyards that advertise in Hemmings. Someone out there has to have what you are looking for.
@downsouthjunking8180 thank you, I did not,but i will 🫡
Good luck. If I hear of any junkyards that have Belvederes I will send their information your way.
can you send me Shawn`s information, I would like to check his inventory or trade with him, thanks
Shawn's phone # is 713-410-1386. He answers texts but it's usually best to call him.
I wish I would have known about that. I need better rims for my 98 Suburban. I never know when the swap meets are and I don't live far from the fair grounds.
The next Conroe is coming up at the end of October.
Pure crap. It will take thousands to restore best to buy it already restored will save time n.money may be even Your marriage.!
Prices higher than a giraffe hind end !
Get a can of PB blaster and if it don't move, spray it. Pour a mix of auto transmission fluid and diesel fuel in those cylinders. Let it soak for a week. Then drain and fill with wd40. Drain again before turning it over.
I have heard about the diesel / trans fluid trick but never tried it. We are supposed to work on the truck tomorrow. I will mix that concoction up and see what it does for us. Thanks for the suggestion!
was wondering where the Hanson brothers went
Allright! This what we're talking about beautiful truck! Maybe these boys will be selling this beauty for 80k at Pates!
The way prices are getting at Pate, they might someday!
Lot of stories could be told on that farm.
Dont leave it there boys....... make sure you get her out and finish what you started.... Ill be checking.
Haha! Yes. Help me keep them focused on finishing this. Sometimes, their interest wanes, and projects languish. I don't want a bunch of half done builds on our channel, that's for sure!
That was a really good video. I like watching the engine to get tore down the boys are awesome the way they’re interested in that old stuff I look forward to your next one
Thank you! I'm not sure if it will need it yet, but that engine will probably need a teardown. If that's the case we will film it for sure. Yes, sir, they like everything old!!
Closer to Krum and Sanger than Denton looks like they’re running low on the 30’s 40’s and 50’s from last time I was by there. As for that one that was jacked up best bet they raced it or drag racer if not it’s bootlegger special been a while since I seen one
