What will the opening times be? There's a big problem at Walton, getting taxis home, after a few drinks. We have been stranded a few times, when taxis have cancelled or let us down last minute, once 10pm comes

Looks fantastic, really looking forward to the opening. I do hope that it's water tight with the sliding roof, windows and doors. Cant the builders do something with that speed hump in the entrance to the carpark. Maybe make it so both front wheels of your vehicle touch it at the same time so you don't bash your head on the door pillar? See you soon.

Two weeks ago I gave my three year old Singer machine to my daughter and brought home a second hand, 1970s Frister+Rossmann which knocks spots off the Singer! I found it in a charity shop, PAT tested and in full working order with all original accessories. All I had to do was to shell out another fiver for a download of the original instruction booklet and I was up, up and away. Everything is massively metal, unlike the flimsy singer machine which I always feared would snap in places that couldn't be repaired. Made cheaply to last five minutes and then throw away I suppose. How disappointing for you, as it was for me when I unboxed my Singer just after I bought it. You may get used to it, but if not, maybe try online for an old workhorse. There are many out there, fully working and tested for safety. Much, much better.

Sadly, I'll never buy another Singer, or a Brother or a Juki. Am the proud owner of 3 Janomes now. Last Singer I bought new was a Singer Talent 10 years ago, which was not up to much even then. I still own 4 Singers (3 x Singer Samba a 2, 4 and a 6, and an old green one set in a table from the 1960s - all still work well).

Just subscibed. We are in the same yard doing up our catamaran. We are in the same spot that you were prior to your launch. Enjoying your videos. I think the problem you are having is that although the batteries are tedhnically in parallel they are not in a balanced configuration . Will pop round and see you tomorrow if you are around. Best regards john and dawn

If the batteries were connected in parallel then the terminal voltage of both would be the same. SO somewhere your batteries are not wired as you think. Which at 12v can just be a dirty connection. Disconnect the high battery and see what the system does to the low battery for a first guess. Very carefully check that all links are what you think you have designed. vert carefully check that all the cable connections are clean and tight. Do your batteries have an individual charge controller? Does it offer a smartphone app???? If so install it and see what both battery's BMS is saying, the BMS could give you all the answers.

ok so this is just the general overview and my numbers are off so you will need to check your manuals for the batteries and your setup. The way the charges detect how full the batteries are is by checking the voltage on the line, since they are parallel one battery will put out 14v so the charger sees it at 14v so it then stops charging and goes into maintenance, the charger doesn't detect each battery separately. I think you need to charge the batteries separately until they are the same voltage (tolerance is 0.02v I think, check the manual for your batteries). then add them back in as normal. The concern I have here is why is one so used when the other one isn't, dropped cell? Disconnect the batteries and test the voltage on each battery and see what the voltage is. also check if the manual for the battery has a recommendation on how to prepare them to go into parallel, ie charging state etc. for the battery that's low, if its charged separately does it reach 100%, and what is the voltage at on both batteries after a rest. Note: I'm no expert, I'm far from an expert so hopefully someone who has more knowledge then me can chip in.

Boat presents well but nice cushions don’t matter if the engine is seized and the hull is osmosis blistered to kingdom come. A little more of an overview would be appreciated.

Likewise don't know which system, but if there is a lip seal on the shaft, did you burp the seal as it was fitted, another words did you ensure that the seal was located on the shaft with the lip pointing the right way, because it could have inverted.

Not sure which stern gland system you are using, but yes many need a pressured water feed from the engine for lubrication and cooling. Some types also need occasional greasing. A couple of other notes. Everything you hose clamp below the water line should be fitted with two hose clamps orientated 180deg from each other. I only saw one in the video, but that might just have been the angle of the camera. I personally wouldn't choose that reinforced soft plastic hose below the water line, but if you do I would round off the sides of any holes it passes through so that it can't eventually chafe through on a rough edge. It will hold a bit of pressure ok, but isn't super chafe resistant.. One trick when working on your stern gland on the water is to dive under the boat and wrap a rag or something that will mostly seal up the shaft to cutlass bearing gap where it enters the hull. Usually a rag and some large cable ties or wire that you can twist into a tie will do it. Won't completely stop the water, but will usually slow it enough that your bilge pumps etc can deal with it if you have something like a breakage and need extra time to fix it.
