Hi, we are Dan, Manda & Aria!
We are travelling our wonderful world full-time and taking you along for the ride.
We started travelling around our home country Australia in our Iveco Daily 4x4 truck and Semi-off road Caravan, and after 2.5 years we decided it was time to spread our wings and explore more of our wonderful planet Earth and the people, cultures and environments.
We share with you our real-life, genuine and down to Earth look at living the travel life full-time, the ups, the downs, hints, tips and fun! We explore and enjoy our life on the road, a mix of tourist hot spots and unknown gems, while experiencing everything we can, Dan captures fine art landscape photography artworks along the way.
We slow travel mostly via car-hire, airbnb and hotels, plus a few house-sits and cruises thrown into the mix, and more recently bought a Motorhome in the UK so get back to our off-grid road trip roots.

The first biggest mistake is even going to Vietnam this place is a shit hole beaches are filled with broken glass and syringes garbage everywhere city smells like feces in urine garbage everywhere pollution rude people in two-faced women and girls scamming.
Wow what a very beautiful place ,thank you 💕💕💕
You're welcome!! It is such a wonderful place, we loved it! 😍
Happy Couple. happy moments come with a happy heart
thank you :)
You complain that there was no clear process for crossing the border, but the problem is that you don't understand the process. Plus, you're causing yourself unnecessary panic. Customs officers are not required to learn your language and your accent. You need to know the laws and have all the paperwork ready.
We do know the process, we have been to 15+ border crossings in two years, this is the only one they needed car paperwork and have ever taken documents away from the window and asked us to drive to park elsewhere. Everywhere else in the world does everything at the window you drive up to, unless something is wrong. I don't expect anyone to learn my language or accent, that is impossible, maybe some signage explaining the very unusual process wouldn't hurt.
@@OverlandExposure No, you don't and you are very arrogant. Before crossing a border you should inform yourself about the documents you need to have. You are not European citizens. You did not have the car documents ready. Maybe they should have taken you out of the car and checked the car if you were not carrying drugs or weapons. The fact that you have kangaroos in Australia does not make it superior to other nations.😂😂😂
Not arrogant at all, just stating the facts of our experiences & comparisons, which for some reason people have an issue with. We had the documents required and were actually following the instructions of the hire car company, which was to leave them in our bags and not the car, so I had to get them from our bags. That took about 1 minute, and that was while at the window. 🤷♀️ Put it in this way, pointless conversation now there is no border check anyway!
Strange slide for the intro 'why don't people come here?'....simple answer....they do! One of the most visited towns and areas in Romania. Go to Brasov in summer and it's full. Same as the surrounding areas.
It is more aimed at why don't people come to Romania in general. As Australian's if you ask Aussies where they have been in Europe, where they are planning to go in Europe, where they wish to go in Europe, there would be very few that put Romania on those lists.
Your content quality is top-notch, but the engagement seems lower than expected. Could it be an issue with RUclips’s algorithm, or is there something else affecting the reach
It is the algorithm!
@@OverlandExposure "That makes sense! RUclips’s algorithm can definitely be tricky to navigate. Consistency, audience engagement, and optimizing video SEO can help improve reach over time. Let me know if you'd like any insights on boosting visibility! 🚀"

Such a beautiful place. That hike was next level and Aria was brilliant climbing all those ladders.
It is a stunning area! Really has become one of our favourite locations. & Yes the hike was a bit of a challenge, but Aria nailed it! 😁
Unique Romania
Absolutely!!
❤️👍🙂…
Thanks! 👍
To me, as a Romanian, it didn't seem like an entrance ticket to the Turda salt pan (10 euros), would be expensive, but to you, as an Australian, it seemed very expensive!
That is interesting that you think that. It was one of the more expensive attractions we did in Romania which is why we made that statement.
That is just the entrance fee, then you have to pay extra for every little activity... It is really expensive indeed for me as Romanian, considering there are bigger (and more interesting in my opinion, being in mountainous areas) salt mines in Romania (eg: Slănic Prahova, Ocnele Mari, etc).
Wow, two different Romanian people, having a different idea on the entry price, makes for an interesting conversation. We feel that some of the activities could have been included in the entry price and then maybe pay on top for the special ones - Ferris wheel, boat rowing. 🤔
@@OverlandExposure Well Salina Turda was conceived as a bit of a turist trap place. The prices reflect that. Only bigger turist trap in Romania is 'Dracula's Castle'. So yeah...
@@OverlandExposure Well Salina Turda was conceived as a turist trap and the prices reflect that. Dracula's Castle is the only bigger trap you can find in Romania.
Nice vlog guys, I wouldn't have the guts to climb that long vertical ladder :) can you tell me please what is the song at 10:50?
Haha thanks! It was a bit nerve wracking that one! Glad you enjoyed it though! :) The song is called Back in Time by Daniel Netz. Did you like it?
@OverlandExposure Thank you, yes, I enjoyed both the vlog and all songs, but especially that one :) Thanks and good luck!
Thanks, glad to hear it! :)
Loved your Forrest walk, although all those ladders you climbed looked so steep, your legs must have really felt tired after that. The view from the Brasov sign was awesome 💕💕💕
Thank you! Those ladders were very vertical haha, but it was a good feeling once finished! 😄 & Yes, the Tampa Mountain is a fabulous viewpoint, not many cities have a mountain on their outskirts to make a good lookout at! 😄

Wonderful mountain adventures in Northern Wallachia (Sinaia and Peleș Castle) and Southern Transylvania (Brașov), an area at the intersection of legends and dark history that I love so much... as a Romanian 😊 Thank you for sharing them, I hope you had a great time! The medieval Bran Castle that you will show in the next episode, although it has no concrete connection to the myth of Dracula or to the ruler of Wallachia (and founder of Bucharest) Vlad "Tepeș/the Impaler" the third, had a strategic importance being located exactly on the border between the two historical regions. You have already visited Cluj-Napoca and Sighișoara, but Brașov has a very special charm - one of my favorite cities in Romania, along with Iași, Sibiu, Timișoara, Oradea or Alba Iulia. Constanța (a port city on the Black Sea), Craiova, Târgoviște, Suceava, Piatra Neamț, Arad and so on, but also the rural areas... are also beautiful destinations, even if less visited by tourists. Among them, dream places like natural reserves, mountain trails, famous roads, the Danube Delta, the untouched traditions of Maramureș and Bucovina, ancient painted monasteries in norhern Moldova and many medieval fortresses everywere...
Thank you so much! We had the best time in Romania and would love to come back and explore some more. Thanks very much for the information and more places to add to our visit wish list. We stopped in Oradea first, and visited Sibiu and Timisoara too, which will be coming up in an episode in a couple of weeks time.
Watch out for bears?😵What do you do when you see them? 👀 does it matter if you see it before it eats you?
Hmmm you should wait until our episode in 2 weeks time :-o ... but they say you should be loud while hiking so as to not to startle a bear, also don't carry food with you (hence we ate our lunch at the start of the hike) and well if you do come across one, stand still then walk very slowly away / around giving it a wide berth if it stays still. If it wanders off then wait for it to go before you move, and if it comes to you stand still the whole time and hope for the best.
You need to have a bear spray ready to use (not in your backpack) and make noise, so that the bears can hear you from far away and run away from you. That is, you do not want to surprise them, because they may panic and attack you. Lastly, when you see a bear, the worst thing you can do is to run away, because that will trigger its hunting instinct and it will catch you very quickly (they are very fast, despite the appearances). Apart from the bear spray ready to use, try to scare them by shouting at them and by raising your hands in a menacing way.
Interesting that we didn't see any bear spray for sale anywhere in Brasov or where we began our hike. In Canada it was available everywhere in the towns.
@OverlandExposure That is quite stupid, isn't it? And I am saying this as a Romanian.
😂😂 funny you say that.
lol… yep once you see it…. 🤣 shouldn’t laugh, Karma 🙄
hahaha yeah, no laughing!
Nice, thank you for taking us along with you…. You looked a bit unsteady on some of those ladders Manda. The sections with the handrails looked to have Aria a bit worried too… I could actually feel my Ankle saying nope! Not me.. 🤣 Great to be able to tag along as always 💙
Haha, it was my broken toe at the time saying it wasn't sure it wanted to participate. Did you notice me limping afterwards? Glad you enjoyed coming along with us 😊
@ no, never noticed the limp, I’ll have to back and have another look….😉 Was Aria getting cold? Looked like she had cold hands..?
I'm sure you won't be able to unsee the limp now lol. & Yes, her hands were freezing. I think it was about 13° in the canyon and the water spraying on to the metal hand rails made them very cold.

Ati filosofat prea mult trecerea prin vama. Va amintesc ca a durat atat de mult datorita Austriei. Acum cand va scriu trecerea e libera.
Yes, there is no longer a border between Hungary and Romania, making travel much nicer for everyone. I am not going to comment on the reason why it took so long, the process was much longer than any other customs/border crossing we have ever done (& that is quite a few).
@OverlandExposure Yes, because Romania was not part of the Schengen area and EU rules say that Schengen border controls are mandatory. When Romania was not part of the EU, we stayed at customs for 14 hours. Documents and all luggage were checked by both countries.
Yes I know why there were checks due to the border laws etc, I know it wasn't part of Schengen and now is, I know all of this. What I am saying is, I don't know why it took so long when we have crossed multiple international country borders in our full time travels over the past 2 years, that this was the longest and most nerving. We have never had our passports taken and sent to the side to park etc with no explanations.

@@OverlandExposure They took your passports to scan and check them in the computer system. What is so hard to understand?!?
What about safety in Romania?
In our 3.5 weeks we felt completely safe the whole time. We were smart in that we didn't walk in dark alleys at night, kept out belongings close, etc but at not point did we feel unsafe or encounter any crime 👍🏻
Interesting
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it! :)
Well as of 1st of January, 2025 there's no more border guards, as Romania and Bulgaria joined the Schengen area.
Correct! What a relief that would be now! P.s. this video is from end of 2023, travelling full time makes editing and producing the vids tricky, squeezing it all in, so I am a bit behind. Lots of amazing adventures to come though! :)
@@OverlandExposure Yeah I could tell it was a bit old, because of the outside weather and all that. 😆

You should try speaking more clearly. I don't know if it's your Australian accent or just you, but it's hard to understand all you say.
Thanks for the feedback. After 4 yrs of YT vids, I am yet to be told this so I find it interesting and more likely to be the Australian accent and talking speed making it tricky (well I hope that's the case). Thanks for watching, I hope you enjoy more of our videos :)
For anyone worried about wasting time at the border, Romania and Bulgaria are now part of the Schengen Area, so no more borders and no more checks. Just drive without stopping between countries, just like in the rest of the EU.
Such a great addition to the zone! Now if they can extend our allowed visiting time as non-EU that would be fab! More countries in the zone with no more days to explore them in, and there's not enough time as it is haha
