[MHW:I] 5'03"06 Gunlance TA Wiki Tempered Monkey
Could have been sub 5 but I'm bad at the game. Uploading because I feel like this is about representative of my experience with Tempered Fujang after two days of grinding with no experience of the matchup beforehand and I don't think I have time nor braincells to grind for a more polished run. A few cheeky punishes here and there but a bunch of mistakes too so definitely could be better.

Revisiting the actual Safi siege after all my experience with Safi in Final Judgement. Again things are different since Safi has more HP in the siege (20,000 vs Final Judgement's 14,000) and its thresholds are much higher (back leg part HP is 1,000 vs Final Judgement's 500).       To not get hit by Rajang's follow up move when you tenderize. A larger Rajang's dempsey punch/spin attack after you tenderize attack will hit you while you're in the recovery animation and will have to bank on him doing body slam or the anti-clutch grab to be safe. Naturally this also means it's easier to not get hit by certain moves in general over the fight due to smaller hitboxes

      Fujang is really a dance of trading a blows and trying to bait out attacks you can punish. It just sucks when it does random garbage that delays your stake plant and decides to punch the air nonstop

    Incredible Switch axe skill, I am trully amazed. Even though, how do you get so much healing vs lunastra? I've tried Saafi's set recently to try that build but i never heal as fast as you.

      I have mind's eye deco. Charge blade also can get minds eye on the sword for a while by charging it in the shield, but I'm avoiding doing that for this run.

    Didnt realise the true power of overcharge. Nice run. Question, since you are spaming just one sword swing and shield thrust does the dps of it exceed two swings and thrust or is it because its alateron.

      no idea about more dps since this is a run that purposefully is trying to avoid pumping out too much dps, but weak slash -> shield poke should be the fastest attack speed string which is what we're trying to go for when pumping out pure element damage

      this should be the optimal combo for that style. it was used in legit speedruns in base rise for charmeleos. also its a lot easier to charge your shield than sword so u get more phial pops when u use shield stab more

    I'm not much of a CB player just a casual SAED whiffer so can someone explain to me where all that elemental dmg was coming from? Does the phial dmg from the shield poke only do elemental? And doesn't having the shield charged do more phial dmg or does it add physical? Edit: And does having the sword be overcharged do anything or just a time save to not load phials every couple of hits?

      Elem damage just from the fast attack speed. Phials are not good for elem check since they get a 0.1x multiplier for it. Shield poke is 2 hits with no phial. Overcharged sword requires minds eye either from deco or charging sword but removes endlag and hitlag. Shield charge buffs raw damage in axe mode which I don't want.

    Is there a reason he purposely stays on red phials the whole time? I don't know how Charge Blade works. Does it power up the sword or something?

      Nope, shiny red phial makes your weapon bounce like you are on red sharpness, but doesn't decrease damage He just likes to disrespect alatreon

      Having overcharged phials is 'optimal' for this style because it removes hitlag, increasing the speed of attacks by 30% or something, or so i heard. Never calculated the difference myself, but it is definitely faster
