I know this video was posted a while ago but I just wanted to say thank you. I learned a lot more than just the tv screen (which is why I clicked). You have a great style of teaching and it was super easy to follow along. Thank you very much.
I'm glad you got some good information from the video and that you found my teaching style useful.
thanx
You're welcome!
quick question please mate : 2:04 it shows you dragging the corners of that rectangle? When i grab a corner like you did it just resizes the box I cant move corners individualy to skew the box? HELP! lol
@@darrenlewis8273 Strange. You should be able to reposition the corners independently. Try deleting the track and redoing it following each step exactly as is shown. If you are still having problems let me know. Perhaps I could hop in a video call and help you out that way.
@@foodfitevfx All sorted tyhank you mate and thanks for doing this tutorial! It would be GREAT if you could do one which shows how you deal with things that go in front of the screen. For example if you want to use a video of you flicking through screens on your phone. How to mask the finger out etc :)
Pretty simple actually. Just roto out the finger before you do the track. Then place the roto finger layer over top of all the layers.
Thank you so much for this tutorial! i did run across a problem. Can someone help? I followed all instructions but noticed that when i tried to track data from mocha panel, the null objects ended up on his forehead instead of the corner in the center of his pupil. I went back and checked everything. When i tracked in mocha, i went through every frame and everything was perfect. Until i tried to track the data for my null.
Check to make sure your planar box is placed on the pupil after you do the track. May not be your problem but that's what it sounds like.
@foodfitevfx thank you! I'll double check that 🙏 fingers crossed
Good luck
Did everything work out? If not I'd be happy to hop on a video call with you to help you sort it out. Sort of difficult to help pinpoint the mistake here on my end without seeing what you have in front of you on your end.
@foodfitevfx Thank you so much for checking in on me 🙏 it did work! I started from scratch and followed all your instructions 😃. I double checked that one step and it worked when I put it in the center of his eye. When I first did it, I had put it in the center of his pupil, not the center of his eye. Thank you so much for taking the time to help. 🙏✨️
Nice! Nice shot as well!
Glad you liked the shot and the tutorial! The clip I used is in an upcoming Avatar the Last Airbender Fan Film by JNJ Studios. You should check out part 1 on their channel.
watched all of your videos, love your work and the way you teach us thanks a lot man
@@tanvirsheikh.editor thanks for watching
where can i download footage
I don't own the rights to this footage. I received permission to use it in this tutorial from the respective content owners. It is from an unreleased film I have been helping out on post production. Check out part 1 of the project on JNJ Studios youtube channel.
hey i met you on bigscreen vr how have you been?
@@922w22 Hey cool to see you here on RUclips. I've been alright. Came down with kidney cancer. Had to get half the kidney taken out a few weeks back. Other than that I'm alright.
Can someone explain how to use Mocha's 3d camera solver in Premiere pro?
I only make after effects tutorials for the most part. I've never explored this technique in premiere pro
I assume it's the same way as in ae? Add the mocha effect onto the clip in premiere and then click on the mocha button to open it in the mocha software. Mocha does not natively run in pr or ae.
@@ed61730 nope. Premiere Oro has no 3d camera capabilities and BorisFX have no idea how to add it not natively
thank you so mush
@@random-gz6eu you're welcome
Thank you very much! But from some reason when I link the mask to null the mask is gone... can you please tell why?
Make sure the anchor point for the masked layer is in the center of the mask before linking it to the null. Hope that helps.
Great tutorial! I thought you were going to use two tracking points. One observation, if I may: I noticed that the background wasn't at the right angle with the car, maybe a slight distortion could fix it. An upgrade could also be adjusting the color grading in the scene with the women. But overall, your tutorial was amazing... congrats!
Admittedly I didn't spend a whole lot of time with the BG plate. I'm sure there are many ways to sell the shot better, including just using a better BG plate
Amazing tutorials!! I was searching for these kind of turtorials all over the internet and yours is the only one with so much more info and digestable methods than any other!! So very beginner and professional friendly!! Please keep the videos coming!
Thanks for the wonderful feedback. I'll be making some new tutorials very soon.
Hi! Thank you so much for doing this amazing tutorial! I was able to follow everything so far but I just got stuck at the Optical glow because I can't find the "RG VFX - Optical glow" on my effect. Is it something I need to install? I really like the result so if you can let me know how to get it I will really appreciate it :) Thank you so much!
@@Sabrina-tp7zy Yes it is a plugin by Red Giant. You can also use the glow effect. It's under effect >> stylize>> glow
good tut with your upbeat voice over...thanks
Glad you liked it!
thank you very much keep up the good work
Thanks, will do!
please sir share this footage
Unfortunately I don't own the right to the footage. I started using royalty free clips in later tutorials with links to download.
nice! i love using Element 3D even though its pretty old now. But pls make more tutorials with Element3d and AE, really like the style :)
I'll try!
wow please make more tutorials with mocha AE and After Effects!
I probably will. I use Mocha AE and Mocha Pro for so much now. Even when I probably don't need to. :)
Just Wow. Simple , Straight to the point , no beating around the bush. Subbed straight away
Thanks for the sub! More coming soon.
0:44 ow oww oww oww calm down there brotha!
Lol. I decided to keep that in there. Got a little tongue tied. :)
Nice tutorial but camera movements are a bit annoying. If I were you, I wouldn't use too much zoom in and outs.
Noted!
amazing
Thanks
Great job mate. Could you please tell me how to fix in the middle or tracking? Should we use "manual track" or "adjust track". Ive tried them both but when i did the manual track until almost the end of the timeline, suddenly front part / previous part was messed up, and sometimes it mesed up and drifted the whole clip. Im hoping you can help. Thanks a lot
I'd use adjust track or simply redo the track with a new spline.
Not seeing the generation mode
I believe you have to select it from the view menu if you have never used it before. Also make sure you have the most recent install of Photoshop.
That's So good the way you did it 🤯
Thanks a lot
Bro had my mindblown every step of the way. Amazing walkthrough, leagues better than anything else on youtube giving cheap solutions. subbed and liked
Much appreciated!
This is such a fantastic tutorial! One note: make sure your plate and your footage layers have the same start time, or when you paste the Mocha effect the tracking data won’t line up properly. Also, I recommend exporting your plate as a still and using Photoshop to do your cleanup. I lassoed sections of the face and prompted generative fill with “clean skin” and got fantastic results, and used masking and opacity to blend it in seamlessly Thanks again for the great tutorial
Great tip!
Great job! I'm novice about ae and mocha. I watched around 4-5 tutorials but i couldn't succeed to replacement. This tutorial was super basic and easy to understand. Thanks dude!
Glad it helped!
Very nice, and in Nuke, please, thank you very much
@@eliaslimapro I don't use Nuke
Where did you get the bruise asset?
@@JoelDeVisser just found it on Google.
I fucking love you. The best tuto. +1 sub
Thanks for the sub! :)
Whats the built in glow?
Go to effects, stylize, glow
underrated channel! please make more tutorial on after effect 😊😊✨♥️♥️
Thank you! Will do!
Out of interest, why do you need to composite the bezel back over the screen? Why isn't the actual screen-shaped mask enough?
I do it that way in case I want to adjust the exposure of the bezel. Sometimes I'll add simulated lighting to the bezel.
OMG THANK YOU
You're welcome
Dude, this is the best tutorial how to replace screen without chromakey, i've seen about 10 tutorials, but only yours is clear and full. Thank you very very much. Added this tut in my bookmarks.
Glad it helped!
simply incredible! I do have one question though, how would you add a glow to the screen? I have a footage where I replaced the screen like this but it seems a bit off because it's not any brighter. The glow effects inside AE just make the brightest parts glow haha
I have a myriad of different glow effects installed. The out of the box glow effects may not be the right solution for this technique. Maybe play with the exposure effect to brighten the screen content.
Bro make video like someone jumping from building like that or I'm only jumping
I'll consider it.
NICE
Thanks
is it possible for me to get the sample footage link pls!! ❤
Search for it on pexels dot com
very underrated channel. hidden gem in the middle of the ocean
Thanks!
Thanks for the tutorial! I'm learning After effects and I needed to learn Mocha. Please continue making videos. They are very good! A hug from Argentina!
