Ive been using the same iPad starlight in 128gb as well for almost a month now, I agree with the battery life it drains way faster been using my iPad for watching videos most of the time offline videos I tend to download tons of videos to watch offline and to read manga online I even sign out all of my social media accounts to preserve fhe battery to last me the whole day. Compare to my Redmi Pad SE it can last me at least 2days with my wifi turned on and all notifications of my social media accounts. Since I decided to go with iPad since all of my other gadgets are Apple, but the Redmi Pad SE 8/256 bought ₱8,200(Philippines Peso) while the iPad cost me ₱45,990(Philippines Pesos) still no regrets with iPad since there's no sign of lagging at all when Im using it.

For clarification about how slow the base model is... unless you decide to do a lot of heavy work (like editing videos, etc) on the base model, it'll actually work just fine. The base model is still perfect for students if you're planning to simply research, read, take notes, write up essays etc.
