First .. Fake video: No Jimmy ever looked this good - what kind of gasket sorcery is this? Second .. Best sound I've heard all month, is the ring tone for sale? Third .. vid probably violates the RUclips two-stroke pornography standard. Oh yeah, Forth .. you must have the most awesome wife-partner. The 71 series was not the Saturn 5. I recall someone saying "The most efficient means for converting diesel fuel into noise" .. and some truth there - but for the jokes aside, they sure did work. :)
These powered all the "mobile lounges" at Dulle]s for years. It was explained to me that these were protecteded jobs and yet we had segregaton. I was MADE!
Worked for the electric company, a coal fired powerhouse. We had Euclid C6 dozers with 671’s in them. I can still hear them rolling up onto the coalpile. It’s been @ 40 years but my hearing is still damaged from them.
Excelente video. 😃👍🏻
I WANT ONE! My father used to have big trucks in his business and his sales manager always talked about the Detroit 6v-71 and what a great engine it was.
Buses, fire trucks, garbage trucks, dump trucks etc. The sound of a 6-71 reminds me of being a kid in the 1970s
You get somebody who knows how to work on them, they also have some nuts!!!!
6V
Love the chrome rocker covers. One of the best engines GMs ever built. Very compact, good power and not too bad on fuel .
What type of boat?
Musical
By the valve covers it looks like a 6V-92.
Old Silver Series Detroits!... A pair of Screamin' Demons!... Haha!
The second best motor gm built

Perfect for a waterpump.
Has more cajones than a dodge cummins.😮
The kind they put in old GMC Buses
The 6v53 and 71 just love load / work / revs .fabulous engines
sound reminds me of a GM 3800 v6
I always loved a Detroit
i wish i could buy one of those.
Emp proof, that engine will be around long after I'm dead.
871 🤔
Marine diesel?
for a second there in the beginning it sounded like a carbed chevy 2.8 liter v6 with hollow cats.
Nice motor

What kind of mpg would you get if that was in a semi truck fully loaded. Just curious.
A Detroit that don't leak oil ?
The beautiful sound of a screamin demon

It just sit there. Please put it in something that actually helps. This sitting and looking at stuff is getting old.
Is that pvc pipe for 90’s on the upper hoses? The smoothness gave it away then I saw the casting
I had 8 v92 in my denning motor home that thing was evil turbo over super charger.
Maximum Overdrive made me click. Thought the air start sound was just a movie special effect back in the day.
Awesome
Beautiful, I'd love to build a man cave around it.
Here in Argentina, two stroke engines like this still running on old firetrucks, the sound is amazing on full throttle.
Damn what a waste I’d have that down in something
Makes me want to pull down my trousers and start leaking
So awesome you can see the ripples in those sweet oil puddles like beautiful waves in a ocean . Hell yeah 💪🤠
Never has a Detroit Diesel run so well, been kept so clean, or looked so good.
That's just about the sweetest sound in the world. And it never gets old.
Are you running klots 2 stroke techniplate? I dumped some in my 8v82 and now that’s all i will use now
