Medway Peninsula Model Railway
Великобритания
Добавлен 27 мар 2018
This is a channel that will track my journey in building a model railway in my garage. The last time I had a layout was over 15 years ago so I have a lot of catching up to do.
I have called my layout Medway Peninsula as I live in Medway and although I have not yet got the skills to scratch build models of actual buildings I will try to create cameos of them ..
I will run trains from early 1960s to present day.
There will be ups and no doubt plenty of downs so join me on the journey …...

Hi Kev. Congratulations on completing this walk, Superb effort mate, very well done to the both of you.
@@TWK2576 Thanks 👍🏾
Hi Kev, Well done to you both. Cheers Robert.
Thanks Robert
Good stuff Kevin - well done on this and hope all goes well on 12th October 😊
Thanks 🚶♀️👍🏾
What a wonderful event! Nicely filmed and looked a fabulous time!
It was a great day Anthony and we were lucky with the weather.
Great day by the looks at kev.great to see the younger generations involved too bud Cheers Mark
Hi Mark It was a great day and lots of interest from kids 👍🏾 Cheers Kev
Looked a brilliant day out Kevin. Well done to every one .
Hi Al It was a great day and we were lucky with the weather. Cheers Kev
Fantastic ❤
Nice!
I wish you a nice hike.and hopefully the weather is nice bud
Fingers crossed Mark 😀
Excellent work
A very worthy cause. 2 of my closest friends buried from Prostate Cancer.
Thanks Anthony in the UK 1 in 8 men get Prostate Cancer and many more life myself have non cancerous issues
Thanks Robert 👍🏾
Hi Kev, Good luck and nice weather wished to you both. Cheers Robert.
Nice update Kevin, that Temu stuff looks to be real good value, time will tell. Happy modelling to you😊
Many thanks for watching and yes it will be interesting to see how durable the Temu stuff is . I have bought some other bits so look out for them in the next video. Cheers Kev
Hey Kev, really good update. your layout is coming along really well....those backscene buildings are mint👍
Many thanks and the back scene came out better than I hoped. Cheers Kev
Hi Kev awesome new additions absolutely love the new 60, such stunning livery on the HORNBY coach a really enjoyable video hope you are keeping well happy modelling kind regards Danny 👍🏻👀👋🏻🤩
Hi Danny I’m good and hope you are too. I like the 60s and the Hoverspeed coach will make a nice fictional train with the Sealink coaches. I need to catch up with your Oxford video to see what is in the box. Cheers Kev
Thank you for the update Kevin. very interesting subject matter. cheer's Tony
Thanks for watching Tony - I’ve a few of yours to catch up on 😀 Cheers Kev
I have been behind on everyone's videos. but we will get there mate. as i have been away in Kent...lovely part of the world.
Hi Kev, Nice update and the "backscene" updates are super well done you have also got some very nice locos and rolling stock there at very nice prices so upward and onward as they say (who said this?) It will be interesting to see how the temu stuff works and if it is fit for purpose. GETS is getting nearer so will you be going this year should be a good one just hope the Making Tracks layout is not there. Keep well and modelling. Cheers Robert.
Hi Robert Thanks as always for watching and your comments. I’m pleased how the back scene has come out . The Class 60s are good value with TXS decoders in them. The Temu stuff will be interesting to test its durability, another delivery arrived yesterday so watch out for those too. I won’t be at GETS this year as on the Saturday I’m doing a 50km charity walk and don’t think I’ll be up to going on the Sunday 😂 Keep Safe 👍🏾 Cheers Kev
Hello Kev. Firstly, those back scene buildings look absolutely amazing. Really good and painted well too, I really like them. The class 60 really is in the spotlight lately and your one looks and sounds great. Those bottles and shot measuring cups will really come in handy, and if you ever venture into airbrushing, then they're perfect for mixing paints. I'm looking forward to seeing the station. Take care for now kev, and best regards as always. Lee
Hi Lee As always many thanks for your support. I’m really pleased with how the back scene has come out . The Class 60s are now good value and with a TXS decoder you have sound for under £200. Pleased so far with the Temu items and another delivery has arrived 😀😀 I’m leaving the station side now until the station arrives so moving on to the industrial side . Keep Safe. Cheers Kev
Hi, Kev! That Cappagh loco and set were gorgeous... great train together. A couple other nice locos , too (although I don't recognize class). You also have some nice little bits from TEMU and the shops. Cool video! Always nice to see you!
Hi Anthony Thanks as always for your continued support. I’m very pleased with the Cappagh loco and the wagons too which are Hornby Railroad and are good value at half the price of the standard range. The new locos are all Hornby Class 60s. More Temu has arrived !! See hello to Joyce. Cheers Kev
Hi Mark Thanks as always for watching ❤️ The wagons do look good for railroad and a bit of work on them will improve them too. I got the cutters for cutting plastic parts when kit building and the etched name plates so should be fine. Watch out for next video as the fencing and tanks should make an appearance 👍🏾👍🏾 Keep well Cheers Kev
Hey Kev How's things? Backside looks great I like that whole cappagh rake looks smart. I had some hoover speed coaches.they go for silly money now. The cutters are good for cutting sprue but don't cut track or metal. They get chewed up.but plastic absolutely fine I had a pair ..as soon as I cut track they was done but for cutting plastic model bits perfect 👌 Take care my friend
Great info, looking forward to getting the low down on 2025 from you too 🙂👍
Excellent video and an excellent ahow - thank you 👍🚂
@@PringletonModelRailway Thanks for watching and we are planning for next year 👍🏾 Cheers Kev
These buildings look great.😊
@@duncanwatson9054 Many thanks
Ooh, very nice, Kev! Excellent view!
@@ModelTrainOutsider Thanks Anthony
I loved the "brief encounter" layout. What won best in show? And Dan Havlik's collection was amazing.
@@bsillett I loved Dan’s collection as it brought back lots of memories of 24 years commuting to London . We didn’t do a best in show but will be a suggestion for next year 😀😀 Cheers Kev
Thank you for putting on a great show, I attended on Sunday and really enjoyed it. Got a video filmed myself and shall be posting it this afternoon, sadly couldn't had done it sooner as the uploading speeds were not good and had to wait till I got home Monday night.
@@simontrainsmodelrailway - Thanks Simon and we are already planning for next year . I shall look out for your video. Cheers Kev
Hi Kev, A loverly round up of the show so well done to you and all involved for the two days of hard work which at the end made a great day out for us all roll on next year. Cheers Robert.
@@robertstrainset6556 - Many thanks for making the effort to visit and I am glad you enjoyed it. The planning for next year has already started 😀 Cheers Kev
lovely to finally meet you Kev. What a fantastic show the club put on! A big massive well done to all of you!
@@EmperorsPath Thanks Sam it was a terrific weekend and great to meet you too. Cheers Kev
Awesome views, Kev. I loved the shots of the ships and famous faces especially. There were a tremendous amount of grand layouts from the various videos I have seen! Well done and kudos to all who set this up and worked it to the end!
@@ModelTrainOutsider Thanks Anthony it was a great couple of days . The logistics was something else but it is surprising what can be accomplished when everyone is enthusiastic and are willing to put the effort . The look on the young lad’s face when he was invited to run trains on one of the big layouts was worth all the effort. I missed Alan from Buckland Junction which was disappointing as I would have had another “famous “ face 😀 Cheers Kev
Beautiful train!
Hello, Kev! First of all, sorry to hear about the health issues and hope they are being handled well! The story of the customer service was nice to hear. I hope the 121 gets sorted. Nice update and great running session... I really liked that green 66 (77?) pulling the freight! Nice video!
@@ModelTrainOutsider Hi Anthony As always thanks for the support and the health issues are under control. Dapol were first class and glad you liked the green Class 66. Give my best wishes to Joyce. Cheers Kev
Sounds awesome! I wish I could be there, but will be at Warley (Sat Morning) and GETS (Friday, Sat. afternoon, Sunday) in October!
@@ModelTrainOutsider - Hi Anthony I won’t be at GETS this year as I’m doing a 50km walk for Prostate Cancer UK ( Watch out for the videos ) but might try to get to Warley. Cheers Kev
Hi, Kev! I saw your post about Chatham and looked here to see i missed a couple of videos. Sorry! That was a month of Sundays worth of information! Nicely done. Great models and love the 33 loco and hoppers. The layout is looking good. Then a beautiful train ride, and wrapped up with a great running session!
@@ModelTrainOutsider - Thanks as always for the support, and glad you enjoyed it . Cheers Kev
Great stuff Kev - I'm looking forward it 👍🚂
Thank you for the shout out Kev, look forward to seeing you at the show!
You’re welcome ,I’ll pop by and say hello and see if I can pick up some tips 😀
Hello Kev. I will be there for the day. So keep an eye out for me and captain static. Regards Alan :o)
Hi Al That’s great news you will both be there and I’m looking forward to saying hello Cheers Kev
Hi Kev, firstly sorry for the late response, I completely missed your video when it came out, goodness knows why but I did! I hope your prostate scare is behind you now, i had a few months of worry a few years back when the doctor thought I had it. Had a biopsy done which wasn’t very nice but eventually they found nothing wrong apart from it being enlarged. I now have my PSI checked roughly every year and all is ok although it was a little high last time I went but the doctor seems to think there is nothing to worry about, thankfully! Lovely update by the way, I really liked that 07 shunter, shame they don’t do one in N Gauge otherwise there would be one at Exehaven! Pain in the bum about the station Kev, but like you say it’s part of building a model railway and the one Bunters Yard are building for you looks the business! Good luck to all the family with their charity endeavours mate and I look forward to seeing how you get on. Lovely to hear from you the other day too, cheers for now Kev, John
Thanks John I’m in the enlarged prostate club so it’s tablets and working around the frequent pee stops 😀 The 07 is one of my favourites and yes it would not look out of place on Exehaven. Once the Chatham show is over it’s full steam ahead with the walk. Enjoy Australia 🇦🇺. Cheers Kev
Lovely update and particularly lovely running session at the end. Thank you for sharing 👍🚂
Many thanks and I realise I forgot to comment on your last video . I do like the station area and the upgrades to the Hornby station buildings . Cheers Kev
Nice share my friend!
Thank you! Cheers!
Hello Kev. Enjoyed that update, and (as always) your honesty. Sorry to hear that the station build didn't quite go as planned, but then you being you as always, just shrug it off and carry on. The 66 is absolutely awesome Kev and that particular one is the special one, really nice and meaningful too. Good luck to Katie and also yourself with the fundraising events, really take my hat off to you. Kev, I don't watch and comment too much of late, but when it's your videos, I also find that slot of time and it's time well spent. Enjoyed this video Kev. Take care buddy, Lee.
Hi Lee Thanks as always for your continued support. There are always setbacks but as you say shrug them off 😀😀 Looking forward to the walk and in a little while I will do a launch video. Cheers Kev
Hi Kev, Sorry to hear your not so well but great you are turning it to something useful good luck with the walk as for the layout life comes first and as you have done we don't have to do it all ourselves we can get a man in. A very nice 66 and some nice footage at the club as for your train show I will make every effort to attend as looks like a great day out. Cheers Robert.
Thanks as always Robert and I know more where I am on the Prostate front so it’s a matter of working around it. Very exciting that the show is only a month away . It would be great if you can make it , Peter Dixon is coming on the Saturday. Cheers Kev
@@medwaypeninsulaMR Is there free parking at Chatham? Cheers Robert.
Hi Robert There is plenty of parking I think you might have to pay but it’s not much but I will find out .
Excellent update kev mate what fantastic service dapol provided for you and hipefully your 121 will run much better now and also great choice livery 66 you purchased from accurascale, i have the same one and i love it, all the very best for preparing for your 50 kilometers walk good luck and kind regards Danny 😀😊 😃
Hi Danny Thanks as always for watching. I live the Class 66 probably the best Accurascale have brought out. I shall be starting training for the walk so watch out for updates. Cheers Kev
Nice stuff!
Thank you! Cheers!
Hi Kev. The new building looks great. Reminds me of rows of tenements in Glasgow. The station building is really interesting too, lots of opportunities to detail it. Enjoyed the update. Cheers, John.
Many thanks John as always for the support. I have made a start on the station building although it’s a little trickier than the other one . Cheers Kev
Hey Kev Not sure why I had no notification for this video. Love those nse coaches look fab I see if I can 3d print some tanks for your warwell wagon .I have couple 00 gauge tanks that you can have but I will see if I can do few more I let you know via messenger bud. Packed update cracking video bud Atb Mark
Hi Mark- Thanks as always for watching and support . I am way behind on your videos !! We lost Broadband for a few days and I am now so behind. I was interested in your 3D printing adventure and yes tanks for the Warwell would be good as I have a couple of Warwells and Warflats . I have some military vehicles so I am looking to have an MOD train . Keep safe Cheers Kev
Hello Kev. I've just been having a catch up as I've been away for a while. The buildings look really good and make a massive difference, bery nice move. Loving the look of Sydenham station, I sometimes wished I'd gone for something like that. The 56 looks and sounds amazing Kev. The 56 is probably one of my favourite locos. The nwse coaches really do look always part. Great update as always Kev. Best regards as always buddy. Lee
Thanks as always for watching and the support. I’m pleased how the buildings have come out . I have just started on the station which is not as easier build as the JS Models as the parts are more flimsy . The Class 56 was a bargain at £80 and although not in the same class as the Cavalex is £140 cheaper 😀 Keep Well Cheers Kev
Hi Kev, Super update you have been busy and the buildings look great well done also nice to see a proper train and hear about your show I may make it I will have to see. Cheers Robert.
Thanks 👍Robert as always and I’m pleased with the buildings . It would be great if you could make it to the show . Keep Safe Cheers Kev
Well done, I enjoyed watching 👍🏻
Thanks 👍🏾
