Sadly, they are too small so I can’t try them on for you but I did use a pic of her wearing them for the thumbnail so hopefully that will give you an idea. I also tried to describe in detail the attributes of the shoe. Let me know if you have questions. Enjoy!

I saw it as a great opportunity to do a comparison between the Lumina and the Brava. I hope it is helpful to someone out there during this time seeing as it is especially difficult to go into a shop and be fitted. Thanks for watching!

Bloch European Balance Pointe Shoe Review

Make Your Own Custom Toe Pads (tutorial)
Yes these are so good especially for first time pointe shoe
I just changed from Balance Lisse to Eurostretch. I didn't find it narrower TBH. I'm a 7X in both of them. No problem on flat. I do find it a bit high on the sides compared to the Lisse. For me, it's easier to get over the box in the Euro. The main difference I notice is that the shank of the Euro is much softer, even though I three-quartered the Lisse.
I was just fitted in these shoes- 3x for me. Although doesn’t feel wide enough for my right foot! The fit is almost making me look like I’m sickling as well, not sure why the fitter went with them but I trust their judgement 😅
If the shoes too narrow, your foot will twist. That could be why it looks sickled. I've learnt to go with my own judgement rather than the fitter's!
Thanks! I was upset I spent the $ for a discounted shoe and the vamp was too high. This video is great!
How long do they last?
It's been a year so sorry for a comment ages later, but I'm actually waffling between the two models! So thank you for posting this!
This is great! My current vamp is too long lol
Great!!
These are the only pointe shoes I can use I wear a 7xx
Thank you!!! Just made these and I am amazed at the reduction in pain on my sensitive pressure points. 💝
So glad to hear that!!
Can you tell me how the Eurobalance compare to the Amelie Pointe Shoe
Amelie is much more tapered and has a higher vamp.
@@Kimberlykeepsdancing Thank you. I think we have similar feet except I have longer toes. However, I am just getting back into dancing again and I am looking for a soft shank shoe. The European Balance is the best I have tried. I also like the Russian Pointe Ruiben but I don't like the sharp square edges on the box. I have spent so much money on shoes. I have been to professional fitter and fitter and still can't find the right shoe. Do you have any recommendations?
Mom❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤😄
Thank you for always watching my videos!
Have you ever tried the wear moi vesta?
This is super helpful! Thank you
Have you had a chance to review the Enigma's yet? Curious to know which shoes you are currently wearing?
I haven’t but I will! I still have them I believe.
@@Kimberlykeepsdancing awesome! Can’t wait
Thank you for the review! I think we have similar feet and Verve also worked well for me. Virtisse recently released three new models. It'd be great if you could review some of them!
Trying this soon- thank you! Do you need to rinse them out after they're set to get the oil off?
I would for sure!
Could I use cooking spray to oil my feet? I don't have essential oils.
I have not personally tried that but I do not see why it would be a problem.
cooking oil would probably be better. oils can break down silicone products anyway and essential oils are particularly potent and can be irritants/have corrosive properties. i assume kimberly didn't use straight essential oil, probs mixed in a carrier oil like almond, jojoba etc. but yeah. better to use an inexpensive oil, and rinse them after.
Thank you.
Thank you so much for this review. I've been researching pointe shoes as I've tried RP Rubins and Bloch Dramatica IIs and have issues with both. With the Rubins I have a very baggy heel on pointe as I have a disappearing heel and diamond foot as well. I'm going to have to try these next time I'm shopping for new shoes.
The material in the putty used in this video is actually rubber, not silicone. I think the name brand uses silicone putty. Just fyi for anyone watching this.
It is a food safe silicone based on the manufactures website. Amazon has the materials listed as “rubber” . Silicone is generally considered a synthetic rubber as it is a hybrid of rubber and polymer.
What website did you use to order them? Thanks!

Those shoes look so nice on your feet!
Mom❤❤❤❤❤❤❤😄 I'm glad you did a review on the MDM slippers. I've been wondering about how well they support the bottom of the foot and arch. And eventhough they look amazing on you, I agree with your assessment of the vamp being too high.. looks closer to a sock than slipper.
It is interesting because the other model has a lower vamp but I just didn’t like the fit as much. Hopefully they will make a lower vamp option at some point. ☺️
Something similar happened to me! My very first pointe shoe was the Bloch European Balance. I remember it feeling so square and blocky on me (no pun intended), and I sank so much (although I do think a lot of that was the fit). After a LONG journey through many other brands and models, I ended up trying on the Eurostretch the other day, and it's like, the best of both worlds -- the box shape of the Euro Balance but the stretch fabric alleviates all the issues I usually have with bagginess in the sides and heels. My feet are so different from where they were years ago, and it was so surprising to see how much better that particular shape fit on me now vs back then! I know this video is a bit old by now, but I'm happy for you that they worked out again!! <3
These look great on you, and I loooove that leotard - very cool design.
Thank you so much. They were pretty much dead by the time I recorded this but I wanted to make sure to get a review out there. The leotard is Balera I believe
Mom❤❤❤❤❤❤❤😄 I'm happy to hear you like these shoes. They look amazing in 5th on pointe for the shape of your foot.😍
Thank you! Supplies are so low at the local shop but I am happy with them.
this is my number one struggle with shoes because i have a really high profile foot with high arches and instep, but shorter toes, and even shoes that have fit me well elsewhere rarely let me roll through without shoving into the top of my foot. i tried a pair of custom capezio avas with a lowered vamp and it did help, but they died in three sessions :' ) no fault of the shoe; even with the stronger shank, it's been hot and humid and i hear capezios are notoriously softer than most other brands. it did suck to lose $150 on a custom pair so quickly though, and i'm curious to see if this will alleviate my top issue with finding a shoe that'll work for me D; thank you for showing us!
Just ordered some of the putty, possibly too much (free postage for 2 packs though). I’ve got the perfect socks to use too - beige and very thin bamboo, but a bit small for my actual feet.
BEST THING EVER. Bought 3 lbs of this stuff (1.5 lbs each of part a and b) and it's GAME CHANGING. I used 30g for each foot and that was plenty. Price is negligible (about $60 for 3 lbs) considering I can make literally a few dozen individual toe pads that I know won't be a waste of money and go in the reject pile.
I just did this to my first pair, and ended up removing 1cm from the stiffening material, and 0.5cm of fabric. They are now perfect! No more bruises for me! And next time I will go to a store with more brands to choose from. There was only 1 choice of low vamp in the store, and they were the exact wrong shape for my feet. Most of the options were Capezio, with only a couple of Bloch choices. I know there is a store on the exact opposite side of the city with many more options, but I went to the store recommended by my studio. Sigh.
Ohh, I need to do this! Can’t get a low enough vamp locally. It is my first pair, but my teacher knows I sew (a lot) and suggested lowering it so I don’t get bruises on the top of my foot during roll through. My toes are normal length apparently, but go through demipointe much lower than expected🤷🏻♀️.
So helpful! I have short toes and since I have to make do with what my "local" store offers I usually have to sacrifice some characteristics that my foot requires... Which it's no good when it comes to pointes, at least now I can shorten vamps
So glad it was helpful!!
Would you say the Mirallas are narrower than the Hannahs or are both models similar?
The Hannah’s are available in a 0X so definitely can be narrower. I think comparing the single X in both models the whispers might be a tad narrower, but no 0X available in the whisper. Hope that helps!
ah you are really going to town reviewing differant newer brands, I read about virtisse last year about a year ago but no one really has talked about the shoes, engineered in the usa but made in russia though or at least they were I belive, thought maybe they would be made in the usa its an american brand after all, when found on instegram, I dont do this form of dance but like learning about new products on the market and admire classical theater dance ballet that started most of the forms of western dance, not all though, as percussive dance and dance from other contries had differant origins but people forget this. but thanks for going out there on a limb to help earnestly talk about the newish brand
Thank you for watching!! I am glad you enjoyed the review. ❤️
Thank you so so much for posting this!! I have a virtual fitting with them next week, and I've been eyeing the Verve too. This is all great news, as someone who also needs a semi-tapered & high wings. I'm excited!
So glad it was helpful. I hope you find your perfect fit! 🩰
Iam always looking forward to your pointe shoe reviews. Luv ur channel
Thank you so much! I am glad to hear you enjoy my channel. ❤️
Mom❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤😄 They are a pretty shoe, and they look amazing on you. They follow the line of your foot to your leg perfectly.😇
You are so kind to always watch and comment on my videos. Thank you very much! I am really impressed with this brand and will be trying other models as well.. ☺️
Mom❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤😄
I love the Rubin Radiance, but unfortunately, the company is in disarray and the product is no longer consistent 😭 so I wear a Katya from Nicolay instead !
So cool!
Thank you!! It has been very fun to make these. 🥰
Hello! Did these hold up for you? I’m thinking of getting the perfect fit molds, but wondering if this is a cheaper option.
Yes they did! It is the exact same kind of mold, two part non toxic silicone mold. My biggest tip is don’t use too much if you are used to thin toe pads. ☺️
I LOVE this one!!! It feels quite different with the EEd(encore) but I love the both! The only thing is that I wear flexible soft shank for both style.
Mom❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤😄
I know some professionals that wear the Radiance! You should totally try it!
I agree. It seemed like a strange thing for the person from the store to say. Without seeing someone’s foot and build as well as knowing there strength etc. I might have to try them.
Mom❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤😄
Didn’t you find that these are similar to Bloch’s Balance European??
They are similar. I really dislike heel caps and heels the curve inward at the Achilles. It is very uncomfortable for me. Mirella whisper and European Balance both seem to have that feature.
I also want to add that I did not intend to get into a kerfuffle over pointe shoes! LOL
No worries... neither did I. The Internet is strange and comments and such can be misunderstood or the wrong tone can be perceived etc. I appreciate you watching my videos.
Has a lot of unnecessary parts in the shank... Just try a RC-22 or maybe RC-42. You won't have to adjust the shank.
Thanks for watching. I have half shanked my shoes for years. It makes my shoes last twice as long and is commonly done. These were ordered for my daughter. I am simply reviewing them to help others. I didn’t end up trying them for myself because I love my Hannah’s.
@@Kimberlykeepsdancing Half-shanking shoes makes them wear out quicker, and is not necessary at all for a non-professional. There are brands with wide ranges of shanks, including 3/4 shanks, making it largely unnecessary to alter your shoes. Many professionals half or 3/4 shank their shoes because it breaks their shoes in faster for performance and makes their feet look their best on stage. They use them for a few days at most and get a new pair provided by their companies. Otherwise, a student/casual dancer is best off using full-shanked shoes and working their feet. If you want 3/4 or half-shanked shoes that show off your feet better, I would suggest a brand that offers these shanks. They will last longer and be safer than hand-shanked shoes.
@@pdpomerantz my coach who danced professionally for many years advised me to try it. It actually takes the pressure off through wings if you cut the shank at the arch. It helps to encourage stretching through instep and breaking in the proper place for those with flexible toes who tend break low. As I mentioned every foot is unique so I am sure this would not be a good idea for everyone but it makes my shoes last much longer. Seeing as a professional dancer who has worked with me for several years advised it, I trusted her advice. She knows my feet, strengths and weaknesses and it was very helpful. It is always best to work in person with an experienced dancer when it comes to pointe shoe advice. Again, I am simply sharing a review here to help others get an idea of the model of this shoe.
Is this comment meant for the Russian pointe video? Isn’t RC Russian class ( also known as Russian pointe?) I will have to search which model is 22 or 42. This video is the review for the mirella which is owned by Bloch. Also, please know I am not trying to be defensive. I had to delete your other comment because I don’t leave things up that are negative and name calling is never necessary. I am always open to constructive criticism and advice but if it begins to feel like it is crossing the line I delete it. I am a firm believer in keeping things positive.
@@Kimberlykeepsdancing I bet you are a very positive person, Dancing Mom. I think I explained before RC is made by Russian Pointe. There are Russian Pointe models that are offered by Russian Class, but Russian Class also has models not available from Russian Pointe. The RC Collection is one of them. Yes, I know your video was about Mirella, owned by Bloch. My point was that the RC Collection has shanks that don't require cutting, so you can have that same "shelf effect" that you get when you cut a full shank, and you will still be pulled up enough where you're not sinking in the shoe and have less pressure from the wings. Does that make sense to you? You of course can delete this, its your channel. Poor choice of words, again. Your videos are boring if the viewer is prevented from offering a constructive opinion.
This was incredibly helpful and saved my daughters feet and lots of $$. Freed was out of Anchor no X and convinced us to buy 1x--made the vamp way too high!! This worked! Thank you!
I am so glad it was helpful! I am definitely all for saving $$. Pointe shoes get so expensive.
