Between insulting 0.5% pay rises, job cuts, and the removal of safe management procedures, there are more than enough reasons for the people of New Zealand to strike today. More strikes will be happening for other reasons over the next two weeks, locations, dates, and times can be found on the link below. www.te...

After months of waiting the Ninja Valley in Bush Inn mall, Christchurch, has opened its doors and allowed people to test their skills in the ninja arts of climbing, jumping, running, and... slam dunking? I was exhausted after spending over an hour playing around, and although I didn't do all too well, I plan to take on my revenge once I have mastered being fit. Chapters: 0:54 FEET 1:28 Flying! ...
Geraldine, Town of Epic Nature

After a few weeks of negativity, I decided to get away to a more tranquil location to put my mind and soul in order. There have been many times in my life that I have just wandered past Geraldine, not even thinking to stop there. Still, after seeing a sign about the Epic Nature that Geraldine held I decided that I had to go there and make a video on what you can experience in Geraldine. This is...

Bullying Culture in New Zealand

As much as I love New Zealand we do have a major problem with bullying in this country. From bullying at school all the way to work-life in adulthood, the problem is all around us and is affecting us in a variety of ways. I have no true answer, but I have my story of my personal experiences and the damage it has caused. I just remembered that I was once even picked on at work on anti-bullying d...

Cliff the Ambulance is on its way from Dunedin to Wellington to start a protest, continuing where the Dunedin rally left off. I managed to flag it down to get a quick video and even got in a quick talk, despite the horrid weather. Mike, and Pam, thank you both so much for stopping for me and my mum. Thank you for taking the fight up to Wellington. Best of luck on your journey and for the fight ...

20 years ago lol
We have three in fact four fish and chip shops within one minute of our house. And two are right next to each other here in Christchurch.
Christchurch is insane for Fish and Chips shops. a lot are really close as well.
YEAAAHHHHHH BABY! ┌( ಠ_ಠ )┘
It is pretty tough. My body is hurting from my time yesterday.
Man I wanna go well with my kids but more of an excuse to take so i can go on it
@Spartanrodzilla there is a couple of good kid areas, and I'm sure you can be allowed to have a go as well. It will really put your fitness to the test.
November 28 Is The Opening Date
@@heggelihd_shorts I know! I am going tomorrow, got my ticket booked!
i actually live across the road from bush inn and I cant wait to see ninja valley
I am sad that it hasn't opened yet (as far as I know). I'm looking forward to showing my astonishing lack of fitness.
This vid needs more views. Funny how people make a significant transition in their lives without considering the drawbacks as well as the advantages. Not very informed decision making.
@Sab_MJsMama thank you so much. That really means a lot. I've had a few people blindsided by the harsh reality recently.
Be careful who you Vote for
I can say I put effort into choosing who I vote for.
As someone who is currently dealing with the healthcare system both public and private, you're completely on-point with this take. Even some private practices have multiple month long wait times for new patients and anything other than the most essential "you are dying right now!" treatments have 4+ month wait times in the public system. It really is a bit of a shambles right now and definately needs much more government funding and support.
Yeah, we all really need to fight to make things better for everyone. It is awful being on a long waiting list regardless of if your are public or private.
Why meet here? Wouldn't the numbers matter more of everyone met in the city center?
I'm not sure. Apparently there was another event near the Bridge of Remembrance, but it wasn't on their list of places the protests were happening.
@@AnotherWanderingKiwithe one at the Bridge of Remembrance was the PSA one
My go to as uc student is captain ben's (cappies i call em. Recovers the mood after a shitty uni week. RIP Big gary's you will always be in our hearts
A good bag of Fish and Chips can certainly revitalise the soul.
Kiwi danja kick streamer from Dunedin you should collab with him
I haven't really seen any of his stuff, but if I head to Dunedin next year I could do that.
You're never a 20 minute walk away from a fish and chip shop in Christchurch. My local also makes great burgers, patties and spring rolls. Yummy but in moderation to need to keep my 67 year old slim body.
67? You don't look a day over 40.
Your per capita calculations could use some fact checking. How do you measure 3 times pc from 1/16th the number of shops and 1/11th the number of people?
Well I can only say that I have no idea. I have spent a good hour going over it and can't figure it out, even trying to do the numbers and inputs incorectly I can't get to that number, but I remember getting it so vividly. I want to thank you for pointing this out, I usually try to go over my numbers and triple check but this must have slipped by me somehow.
@@AnotherWanderingKiwi Of course. It's just light hearted fun. I've been old man day drinking. I expect you were having young man memories of the not hot dogs.
Once a nerd, always a nerd. I still can't drink enough to forget my high school maths classes
@gnomevoyeur Lucky, I had a pretty bad education, and it is still giving me a hard time. Trying to learn a lot on the fly haha.
Thumbnail is pretty generic, the first 30 seconds or so had me wanting to stick around for more. Good work!
Yeah I really need to work on my thumbnails, it is the one things I just don't feel like I am getting better at.
Woke left nutfart
You play cricket ?
That is the weirdest comment I have gotten at this point, but no I don't.
Intro should be more engaging, your voice sounds too flat and i think the framing of the shot should be more focused on you, maybe cut it to only show the upper half of your body, the music is perhaps too slow / quiet comparatively to how you are speaking. Informative video overall.
Thank you for the review, I am already making some changes to my next video because of this.
Bush Inn Centre, wonderful dead mall experience. Went there today for a walkthrough. Strange, unsettling music playing over the speakers. Shuttered up shops, remnants of the past, built in 1988. Below-ground carpark is claustrophobic and echoey. The closed shop you couldn't remember I believe was formerly 'The Main Skein' yarn supply store. Ninja Valley not open as of writing this. Will be interesting to see what effect it will have on this mall.
Hey thank you for the update and the missing shop! I really appreciate that, I was planning on going in soon and checking to see if the Ninja Valley was close to opening so you also saved me a bit of a trip.
Ahhh, fish and chips 🍟 love it
Just very hard to go wrong with it!
How many fish n chip shops are run by people who were born in NZ? less than 5%.
Well as a ex-pat,we had our fish n chips on sunday night, with thick bread, that was in the 70's,80's.
Chips and bread are mad good.
Buller Cafe in Westport (known locally as Tony's) is the best IMHO. Handmade chips, fresh fish and always cooked darker golden brown. Took my wife there while passing through (but used to live there) - The best she's ever had she reckons.
@ProjectFrugal I have noted this down and when I am over in that direction, I will go there, and if it isn't amazing, then... ummm... I will make a video on it!
@@AnotherWanderingKiwi - All good - it's next to the fire station - you can't miss it :)
@ProjectFrugal Haha, never underestimate what I can miss. I found it on Google maps and saved it to my list. I haven't been to Westport, looks quite scenic, is there anything there you would reccomend?
I was in Westport 3 or so years ago. That cafe was great.
@@marleymcleay9228 - Agreed - 1 fish, 1 scoop - superb! :)
Fish and chips are best eaten on Friday night at home or at the beach with family or friends to share it! 😂😂. It always tastes better to me, for some reason 😊
In Janurary I had a couple of freinds over, one who is living in Austrailia and bought a friend of his over (who hadn't been to NZ before). I got us all a Fish and a Hot Dog each and a few scoops of chips that we sat around like it was a bonfire - had an open can of tomato sauce to share around. We just sat on the ground and ate and laughed, and I was told that NZ FnC is was better than it's Aus counter part which was great.
@WanderingNewZealand ...you see? Even you know the best place to eat chips ☺️ with friends. You can't forget the tomato sauce, either!
I always believe doing things with friends and loved ones is better than doing something alone.
@@AnotherWanderingKiwiyessssss!!!! We did that when we were kids. Either our friends came over to our house and we would sit in the games room with a big load of fish and chips on newsprint paper in the middle of everyone or we would go to their place on a Friday night. So good!!!!! Good childhood memories here in NZ.
New Zealand is on the rise baby 🚀
Christchurch falls down, Kaikoura goes up - seems fair I guess?
They are so expensive now days $5 a scoop of chips
Unfortunatly that is the nature of the beast we are dealing with at the moment, everything is going up except the wages (of middle and lower class). I'm mainly glad that the quality hasn't dipped, at least at the places I frequent.
Fresco's is easily the best out of the options you posted! I don't go anywhere else now...unless I'm lazy and go more local to me (Golden Fish Bar). But yeah, I think Big Gary's ticks the nostalgia box. I have good memories of that place. But before that, the Cat's Pyjama's in the central city (or the Doghouse). Yeah I'm that old.
Another commenter mentioned the Doghouse, makes me sad I never got to go there. But now I think someone has to come up with a Fish and Chip parlor called 'The Bird Cage' or something.
Great cat food
Well make sure you vote for your favourite cat food.
I only ever ate there if I needed a snack after student a party. Several places had better greasies in the area. And for real night owls, the Dog House in the Square was always open.
They closed quite some time ago didn't they? There really need to be more places like Dig House and Big Gary's that are open late for the party people.
@@AnotherWanderingKiwi Yeah, ages back. I know several people who worked there. It was pretty rough.
@@urizen7613 Oh? That is actually really interesting, what happened? I never even got to go there myself.
@@AnotherWanderingKiwi Lots of drunk people looking for food or video games makes for a few aggro customers in the joint. Nothing else open once the pubs and movies were closed.
@@urizen7613 Ah, that really sucks, always a few bad apples that spoils the bunch right. I might look into this more one day, from what ive seen from photos it looks pretty interesting, thank you for bringing it up! If you have any other info or stories about it I will gladly hear them.

🇲🇽🇲🇽🇲🇽🇲🇽🙏🏾love from Mexican
Thank you friend, love from New Zealand.
Looks like you guys had a rad time :)
Absolutely, fully reccomend it. If you are still kicking on Sunday you should go.
Big agreement on the micro-breaks. I have been thinking I should be just having some more “little” holidays too. Mostly because when I think in terms of just saving it up, saving it up for a big one… I just never actually take it. Never think the time is right. I can work a bit more I don’t really NEED one yet, what if I need the leave later… etc
See I do go on break, but I usually make them really long and a lot of that isn't always filled with excitement, so it can be a bit of a waste. Then I have the rest of the year to wait for another good break.
Merry Christmas!! 👏🏼
Merry Christmas to you too Verb, you seem like a lovely person.
thanks. 😂
Shouldn't have watched this while I'm bloody starving 🥲
Yeah I'm not sure what you expected there lol. Wait until I hit Beer Fest next month, you can watch that video while you are thirsty.
