Just listening again 3 years later 😊 I suspect they weren't so fussy about the water then as people had long relied on beer having become alcoholic to be safe enough to drink. A lot of water was contaminated, apparently. Unless it was from a fresh water spring. Streams, rivers etc were often used for washing people, clothes, animals, cleaning certain beans which had to have toxins washed out the be edible. Not to mention that both animals and people would have used rivers etc as cesspools. Same with ponds. I think an "inn" was and possibly still is a pub with at least one room for renting out, and a pub was only to buy refreshments and food when it was open. I could be wrong but I seem to remember that from somewhere. Maybe you could email some of your stories to the channel "weird world". I think a lot of people who don't know your channel would like them. Best wishes to you and yours and although well into the New Year I hope it's a good one for you all, with many more to come.

Here is a scary thought; almost a full year has gone since this. We may need a 2025 ghost story soon.

Hi Ray, There was a bunch of frequencies and one was just below 7 MHz. It wasn't used much but one day I had broadband QRM down at 5.3 megs so I asked a station to go to 6.9. I made the mistake of asking him to get the correct frequency. I should have checked it with my x-tal calibrator but I trusted him. I was on net with this one station for an hour. Anyway a week or so later the school got a letter from a monitoring station telling them that I was way off frequency. My Signals Section C/O was cool about it but I learnt a lesson not to trust other ops and to check myslf.

Clicked on the video as it’s amazes me Clapham woods! Has so much history sorrounding the stories of what has happened up there … then watched another of you videos where you mentioned palatine road, where there is wood? The Littlehampton road ? Where you saw Tilly? Is this woods that are behind longcroft ? I often walk the dog round there , might have to keep my eyes peeled

Interesting story. Incidentally, there was a pop song called "Emma" by the Little River Band some years back and I found when ever it was played on the radio, it was often just before a natural occurrence, like a storm, earthquake or similar. not sure if there was a connection with the song and natural events or not. This guy really needs to write a horror novel. His stories are a lot creepier than even Stephen King’s.

Hi Ray, great story. I can understand your fear of heights, as I am the same. Keeping in mind radio pirates are all known to be different. So, being up a ladder losing your jeans could well be expected!!! After all, only legal broadcasters keep their trousers in place!!! LOL. So far, I have never had my pants fall down when up a ladder, though I am now going to be forever thinking of that possibility, whenever I ever have to climb a ladder again. I live in Germany and have been transmitting with 10 watts on FM 24/7 the last 3 years without any authorities caring about it. Of course on a free frequency and without causing interference, but it seems like no one is interested in analog radio anymore.

My first contact over the air using the Leeds radio ham club call sign was using the 19 set, way before I earned my G4OWW call sign.

Thank you for sharing your supernatural experiences , it is believed that the supernatural phenomenon's are within the electromagnetic spectrum & therefore can be attracted to radio frequencies , for example spiritualists have been known to use radio to connect with the dead, there is more information on this subject online & indeed RUclips . It may be that spirits of the past or the unknown forces may of gravitated towards you due to your close connection with radio ? , scientists of today are looking very closely at this theory .

Hi Ray, thanks for sharing another great ghost story. When I was a child, I used to spend the summer break at Cronulla east of Sydney. My parents used to rent a holiday house for us to spend the three weeks there. We were right near the ocean and beaches. There were also a lot of green pine needles on the ground and I used to collect them and take them back to he house. After a few days, the pine needles had gone brown and as I child, I was convinced that someone had broken in and swapped my nice green pine needles for some horrible brown pine needles. It never occurred to me that all pine needles eventually die. Anyway, take care. Rob in Melbourne Australia.

Ray that light may have been from the Black Rabbit Pub near the river Arun. LOL. I am coming down to Bognor the last week of March. Been to the Arundel Castle a couple of times before.
