@@GreigFraser the regular hex’s? Or the Hexa pro? If its the regular hexs, then I’d honestly place them in the same boat probably. My vote overall would be to get the hexs.

@STONELIGHTS thanks, I was swaying towards the hex but it was good to get an answer from someone that has good knowledge on them as I really couldn't make up my mind. They don't have the pro hex on the govee site in the UK but I had limits on what I wanted to spend as its a gift for my niece & I'd imagine they'd be quite a bit more expensive anyway. Thanks again & I'll subscribe as I've started to get an interest in some of Govee's lights for myself & your vids are really informative. Happy holidays!

There’s several Govee groups on Facebook where people may sell them. I have a 12ft and (2) 4ft extensions extra myself in black. Did you figure anything out?

@@Goodladbrother well, technically it’s just an RGBIC strip (65ft). But you have to stick polyfill over the strip light to get the effect you see.

you could buy adhesive pads so they'd be removable but still stay on, but if ur not wanting to spend money then idk

@@dylanschuman3451 I got a 1”x2” piece of trim from the hardware store. I cut it at 5’2” total length. They normally will have wood or painted white options. Lmk if you need more info

@@STONELIGHTSI think you meant to say 5’4” I cut it at 5’2” and the lights hang off with the white box flushed at the end like yours. It’s either back to the hardware store for another, or mount the white box on the back side so I can fit the whole strip on the what I cut.

@ hmm, I know I ended up folding the end of the lights and also bent up the lights closest to the power box. It can’t hurt to put it on the back unless you’ll be flush against the wall. Sorry about the mishap

There would have to be some sort of plug between each light and that might not look the best. Likely if you’re disconnecting to fit a certain area you won’t be re-connecting the remaining lights back up anyway. I hate cutting products myself but it is what it is.

I would do a separate power supply for the bottom, and just group your lights together in the app. Doing so, you can change scenes and it will apply to both sets simultaneously.

Well they have to be plugged in to an outlet, so likely not. Unless you have a unique area where a switch controls a plug.

@@arobm93 I have seen people say they have cut them and heat gun some rubber on the end. Obviously Govee doesn’t recommend and it’ll void warranty. I have not done this personally with the permanent lights. You may want to check other RUclips videos and verify if others have done it. I know you can cut the permanent pro lights as they are designed that way

@@andyrew45 yes! I have done it quite often with the curtain lights. However, just be sure to cover the controller and power adapter. I always put those items in a waterproof box. They are not fully waterproof rated.

@@fullofskill9448 not sure, I’ve had no issues connecting mine. Ensure your switch is powered on and you aren’t maxed on WiFi devices on your router. I have to use a mesh system for all my Govee devices
