Happy New Year, Shayna! You were just next door to me, wow! I'm in New Mexico. Yes, Sedona is very expensive, kinda a tourist trap if you ask me, but very pretty. One of my nieces got married up in those red mesas, and we had to hike to the location. But it was worth it, beautiful ceremony.

I was told that when a woman wears her pony tail low at the nap of her neck she is married. If a woman wears her pony tail high (so that her pony tail swings freely) she is single (or looking for trouble if she is married). I was told by my father that I am 1/4 Cherokee. However, I look like what I am ( a 76 year old, white haired, light skinned, green eyed, grandmother with wrinkles, and arthritis. If I made myself a ribbon skirt and wore it in public, would I be offending anyone? I want a long skirt to hide my ugly legs and help keep them warm. This is my second time asking. No one replied to my first request.

Hi Shayna🖐🏼, maybe you need to sort your clothes into seasons, activities. I used to have these short sweats, they came to just below my knees (loved them) anyway, I did a clear out of clothing, major clear out, sooo last autumn i was looking for those sweats, couldn't find them (was so sad) came to the conclusion that i tossed them into one of those huge trash bags that went to the second hand store. Earlier this summer i was looking for something AND guess what! Found those sweats, talk about a happy dance, now that the weather is transitioning into that cool mornings hot afternoons, I'm thinking, "now where exactly are those sweats"? LOL I actually got them from Wal-Mart a long time ago, they were so neat that i got them in every color and i still have them. I've stored my clothes in clear bins with colored paper and wrote spring on green paper, red paper is winter and yellow autumn and blue paper is the transitioning weather...in-betweenl extreme hot and cold, hope you understand my babbling

Love Seeing your collection of ribbon skirts! I also love wearing skirts and dresses. I'm a square Dancer, and a couple of my skirts have Ribbons! I made a skirt and top for dancing out of a large long print dress, and added ribbons to it. Think that set is packed away (to pass on) - I'm inspired to pull it out and add some wider Ribbons! Hi Shania, its been awhile since I've commented, ANYWAY really liking the corner protectors, wouldn't have thought of doing that to my books. So, are you only doing that to the books you've read? Anyway, I've enjoyed Linda Howard books, kinda romance mixed with adventure currently reading "the traitor beside her" by Mary Anna Evans, it kinda just stalled out since it got warm, been doing yard work. AND before that i read "the last thing he told me" by Laura Dave. Thought it was a good book now i need to watch the series on tv. Ass for the bookshelf, maybe you can extend shelves to corner and you'll have three other wall to attach it to, those books will start weighing once you add more to collection😊

We have a military group...would you find a green camo....or desert camo skirt for us...our lady vets....we go by Zuya Akicita Veterans....went to ceremony for our name....were Lakota Sioux....not affiliated with pine ridge or rosebud tribes....we do everything out of our own pockets...travel all over the midwest

Love your collection, I just make my 1st skirt, also using thrifted fabric, my ribbons symbolize things Ive been through in my life from cancer, to a liver transplant to the losses of family and friends. I and mixed white but also Lumbee, Cherokee and Powhatan.

I'm not enough indigenous to be part of a tribe because my family tried to white pass as much as possible. Would it be appropriate for me to wear one to honor my great grandmothers?

Beautiful skirts. I make skirts to sell and always looking for new ideas. I started sewing ribbon skirts to honor the missing indigenous girls/ women.

The skirts are pretty and unique. Cheap dental floss might work better than thread for the bows. It works well for buttons that take a lot of pulling. Waxed might be easier but need more knots not to come untied. I'm thinking of trying it for button holes. I just don't seem to have luck with thread.
