Push Button start wiring on old Ford F250
Просмотров 71 тыс.7 лет назад
Bought a push button start system off ebay and wired it into my 1992? Ford F250 truck. Followed a video by Anthony Zarate so be sure to check out his video for wiring help as well. ruclips.net/video/akMNreVEP4w/видео.html
What is the color of the wire that goes to the starter out of the ignition switch harness side? I've seen wiring diagrams saying it is the solid yellow wire but the blue tip you have looks to be connected to the purple or red/white one?
bro this is the first video out of many of these kind of videos that is clear as day you made sure to hit every angle multiple times and explain each wire… Thank you
where doid you get the red vacumn lines from?? what store???
Amazon has them. That’s where I got mine
This is power, ok this is power, now I put these wires here, that are power.
Hey I believe you have the power and acc wires mixed up I got my ignition switch panel from Amazon to ready to be installed in my 78 Chevrolet Monte Carlo so your yellow tips for your acc needs to be at the top and your blue tips power needs to be at the bottom so went you flip the switches up then your accessories will cut on then flip the switches down to cut off you just got them backwards so that's why you have to keep the switches flipped up besides down I'm no smart ass I just wanted to help but probably already know the problem or maybe you like it like that but love the video it really helped me thanks for sharing
dash was minding his own bussines hahaha great video man
Awesome. This is exactly what I wanted to do. Just wasn't sure of it would. Thank you. You saved me the trial and error.
Great job no nonsense u the man 👍
Did it just like u did but my turn signals do not work
thank you for this. I tried about 3 other videos explaining this device and yours was much easier to understand than the others. thank you. P.s. I have the exact same device.
Can you please tell me exactly how to wire that switch up to that black connector, I’ve been trying to figure this out for years!
No
I’ve been try to figure out which wires connect to what port on that black connector for years…what’s it called? Is there a wiring diagram so I can find what wire goes to the starter?
did you figure this out?
I'm looking for the same info
I need to do mine
What a sassy fuckin truck
Dash is cool
I have a 94 F150 straight shift I need to do this on, BUT need help figuring out WHERE to plug the wires FROM the new switches to the old harness
Are the 3 ACC switches-Wired in to run anything as far as "Starting" the Engine? Or are they really for ACC's like the radio, heater, fan switch, Lights, dome light, etc.? to me that wasn't real clear. I'm getting ready to start doing my 1987 F-250. Please any help would really be Helpful to this old man. PLEASE.
This forum might help. I’m trying to do this on my ‘01 7.3
@@FlyPVTarzan Hey Thanks for info.
@@DannyWalker1949 also if you’re willing to spend a little more money. Jegs makes a switch button with a billet aluminum plate.
@@FlyPVTarzan 0k thanks alot.
What color is the solenoid wire
Hey can you email me a diagram have 90 f150 smart starter switch fpac54@gmail.com
Thank you so much. I’m about to do this with my 87 f150
HI Trav B, have You done your F-150 yet? I've got an '87 F-250 I'm fixing to do myself. Let me know How it went on yours Please.
@@DannyWalker1949 yo my turn I'm trying to put this in my 87 f250. Any tips? I'm not good with wiring
How did you bypass the steering lock?
I have heard that removing the key receptacle will disable the steering lock but one person said in another vid he was keeping his so he could still have the key turn as an extra security measure against thieves. I suppose this might depend on the Vehicle design itself but it sounds like a generic solution to me.
Hey what wire did u hook up on the ignition switch wire harness
Surprisingly this is the most well and simply explained video for this wiring, well done
hey, do you know which wires got to what I am in the same boat with a 91 e250.
Thats my question
Awesome
I have a 99 jimmy and i am having kinda same issue.I wasnt sure but i was looking at all those lines and saw they are all dry rotted and easily crumbling .It may just be my issue and i am gonna replace them today cause i knew one was for the 4x4 and thought others went tothe wipers which they may cause my wipers run funny..So it has to be a vacuum problem..Thanks
On the poison spyder inner fenders so u also do the self tapping screws for the rear ones ? what about for the actual flares also
Great video Mr. Barilla, glad I found your "how to post" on this switch panel kit, as mine arrived with NO diagram/instructions. I'm using the same panel for a home made engine stand for a new engine build, and you wiring worked perfect on my engine stand application. Big thanks to you pal ! Regards, Dan G., Clovis, CA
@@dangonchoroff8413 Dan.. I think you replied to the obviously confused fella above... He sounds like a victim of 'Common Core Math Syndrome'... As for the instructions.. There are several options depending on your specific vehicle.. so they might not want to tell you to wire it one way that might cause damage either to the Panel or to your vehicle. That's my guess anyways. Here's a link to another explanation that also includes the relay included with the Kit. ruclips.net/video/pl6l6rwfmqQ/видео.html I'm setting up my old 1990 Ford 250 XLT today if I can.
Good job sir I’m looking at doing the same got a 95 7.3
Loved the video!! Thanks! I'm trying to replace mine. Could you provide the size(s) of the hose(s) please!! 😀
Robot Thank you for showing the routing of the vacuum hoses. I have just finished replacing the intake manifold gaskets on my 99. Upon finished I could not find the home for one hose. Your video showed me and you said one goes down to the engine; it would be the manifold. Pulled the top radiator hose up and there it was. I also changed the timing chain #CCA-3202 it is a Compcams chain. much better them the roller OEM chain. I was also able to change the gaskets without tearing the intake down. Cleaned it all up and did a couple of dry runs before I placed the gaskets on the heads. Timing chain; directions wanted you to drop pan or pull engine. I cut the thick gasket out, and cleaned surgically with cleaner and put a coat of the right stuff gasket maker on and let it dry for a couple of days. Also sanded the surface of the new plastic cover were it contacts the removed seal. Also coated it with gasket maker and let dry. Was generous when reassembling with gasket maker. Let it dry a couple of days also. It is always interesting when reading comments, I am sure a few of you won't like this method. Ebb
Everything works on mine except for the footwell. The front vents work and the defrost vents, just no air to the footwell. Also the heat and a/c works great. Any idea what I need to check?
did you wire the starter button to the solenoid??
Yea great but a few details are left out
Thanks for the info. I like the idea of the red vacuum lines, it makes it a great deal easier to scope the system out.
I have the same issue on my S10 96 Vortec 4.3. This was helpful.
Thanks man just did this to mine
Does this truck have the TFI ignition module?
What is the wire id on the ingtion and start from your truck harrness thanks
I have a 2 in with blue black and red wires for my Caprice how do I install
That's cool I put one in my 75 f250
What color does the power goes too?
Thank you for the help. Cute dog!! 🐶
Dash is having a good time :)
How about the relay that is included in the kit?
Its not necessary. Unless one of your Accessories are high voltage. Then you would use a relay for things like lights and fans.
One video addressed this . stating the temporary increase in AMP Draw during the start sequence as the need to have this wired in. The switch panel itself is not actually designed to handle that spike and may be damaged without wiring it in. Here's the Link to that explanation. ruclips.net/video/pl6l6rwfmqQ/видео.html
You have a diagram i have a 87 ford f150 and the switch doesn't work
I've basically done exactly what you have except that they're all separate switches. For some reason the engine will crank but won't fire up. Do you have any ideas as to what this could be? Thanks!
Michael Houlihan sounds like no power to distributor coil. No coil power no go juice to fire the magical firepixies riding horsies. If it’s an old points contractor that should help. If it’s a magnetic pick up it will work too...I think.
thanks !!
Great video helped me out a lot
how does it go? Lol helpp
