What about toxins in our food?
Hi - feed and food are very different when it comes to rules and regulations. So if you want to know how food companies handle toxins in raw material, I would advise you to get in touch directly.
Can we license your product in a difrrent country?
Hi Jeremy. We are active in a number of countries. Please send an e-mail to maa@fexp.eu, and let’s talk.
ohhh my good this System is a nightmare... they have no place to live... they stay All time in this tiny cage..... its realy nightmare.... please wake up man... sorry you are a devil for animals
And this is why you should only buy British! That is no way to keep pigs.
Dear Matthew . We have British customers as well - and I assure you that the well-being of the sows is very important to the producers in both countries. Healthy and happy sows and piglets are a much better business.
@@european-protein hi, yeah I totally get that you sell into the uk market, I feel that keeping pigs in sow stalls is totally unacceptable and that we banned them in 1999 yet allow meat produced in this way to compete with ours. How many days a year would you say your sows are either in sow stalls or farrowing crates?
@@matthewgreer4758 Hi Matthew. Denmark has both "free range" and the more conventional type, which is regulated heavily. The sows are not fixed in their pens - this is not legal - but during farrowing, their movements are restricted to protect the piglets. These are legal in the UK as well. But we expect a ban in 2023 - I think the previous Primeminister backed the proposal. Except for the 28 days at weaning, they are in sections, where they move around freely (the narrow pens you see is a pen they can choose to enter or step out of - stalls are not legal), but still inside, as you write. The trend is moving towards community weaning, where the sows farrow freely - sometimes with other sows who co-nurse their piglets. In Denmark, the sections and pens are very modern and several actions have been taken to increase welfare. But conventional is not on "open land" and will never be. Denmark delivers many piglets to the UK market - probably because Danish farmers are doing good when it comes to delivering healthy piglets and a low use of antibiotics.
@@european-protein hi, I have to admit I didn’t realise they could come and go as they pleased in the stalls, can I ask through, why have them? If they can come and go at will why don’t you just have loose yards? Glad to see you guys are moving away from farrowing crates, I know they are legal in the uk, we had them on a farm I managed but moved to loose farrowing and then put sows together with their litters. I’ve no doubt you use less antibiotics etc but that is not why the British public buy it, it is price, they for the most part, do not really understand or care about where the food comes from, just a price.
@@matthewgreer4758 Hi Matthew - great question. We have them because the sows have a hierarchy where the strongest eat first (and most). These installations allow them to enter and eat in peace without fighting for feed. That's also an argument for not putting sows in big groups - because they start fighting too much. In a few years - we have several producers using free farrowing - it will be a standard installation on Danish farms. But with top modern and existing expensive installations, it takes investment to rebuild, but subsidies are expected to help pig producers update the farrowing section. Danish pigs have been historically cheap this past year, but production costs in Denmark and the UK do not vary too much. Both are higher than the Spanish and American production costs.
Poor pigs …😢
I can assure you the health and wellbeing of the pigs are in the interest of the farmer as well.
