Woke is broke... the emporer provides.
For me, I was going to ditch this Star Wars stuff in favour of Star Trek, indeed!
Warhammer 40k is falling to. Newcomers want to introduce trans space marines, and GW recently made one of the 2 only male faction to include females in the worst rework in the history.
No hard feelings for you girls, love ya all !
Who thinks GW will forget about the Lion vs Luther plot line?
Ah, I walso went from being a fan of the "Emperor bad" -space fantasy to being a fan of the "Emperor good" -space fantasy
Emperor God
Star wars has an entire Battlestation dedicated to destroy an entire planet 40k has Exterminatus
Warhammer had it to. One of the Necron Dynasties have transformed thier own planet into battle station, able to destoy whole planets. It took 1 whole Space Marines Chapter to sacrifice themselfs in order for it to get destroyed
@@nicolausg7058 it took one teenager to take out the death star
@@chookee1080 Yeah, but Necrons didn't left the vent leading to the core, and surraunded it with a strong shield

Disney and their stupidity is the best thing ever to happen to Games Workshop. When Disney ran Star Wars into the ground, they left millions of alienated, disillusioned fans scratching around for something to be a fan of - and in time, a great number of them found Warhammer 40,000. The result of this is that 40k has begun a transformation from a tabletop game to a huge multimedia franchise. And it probably wouldn't have happened without Disney ruining SW. Nice going.
That's weird It's not even 1k views
It really sucks because as an Imperial Knights fan I was absolutely ecstatic when I saw the notification for the trailer. But it seems like they straight up just didn't even try to get the Knights right. They just made them small Titans that mostly just go down with one punch.
Becoming less grimdark? My brother in Sanguinius the God Emperor, the dude who represents the imperium and allows for safe travel (or even any travel) in the warp is at best on the verge of death and on the verge of dying and ascending as the fifth chaos god. Which could unironically be the bleakest thing in the entirety of 40K. Guilliman is doing ceasefires and peace treaties because everyone is shitting bricks about the fact that the Tyranids just started invading for the other side of space, and Gulliman can’t spare the resources to fight the Xenos and and the ‘nids because he’s currently in the middle of a massive crusade to take a whole bunch of planets back from the holy-shit massive 13th black crusade that destroyed Cadia and caused the Eye of Terror (the rift into the warp) to start expanding and created the great rift that cracked the galaxy in half. Heck even the ORKS are having a shitty time cause they got their asses beat by the tyranids and then Ghaz’s crush got murdered by Angron when he destroyed the only other beacon of light in the warp. Unless you’re a bug or a worshiper of chaos shit is pretty bleak right now. I’m just waiting for Vulcan to come back and confirm this is indeed the apocalypse.
Grew up with my Stormtrooper and Darth Vader Action Figure, to collecting Space Marine Minis (and some of the action figures)
Hit the nail right on the head with this one.
They ruined Namor.
3:45 no offense man but you might wanna run that “irrelevant” by me again 😭
People prefer Warhammer over Star Wars (and others such as Halo, Star Trek etc.) because the other ones either went to the bottomest of shit or faded into obscurity. Warhammer 40,000 is still boltguning us with content people actually like, unlike the others.
Great vid. Im honesrly quite anxious about the 3rd Bequin novel giving us yet another goes-nowhere plot ending, to such a great build-up. I hope Dan Abnett is allowed to really shake-up the setting with whatever he has planned for that book.
Novels are not used to guide the direction of or make changes to the setting, it's the other way around. I cannot think of a single 40k novel that has ever introduced a plot point that later affected the setting. They're just used to detail things already part of it.
I'm not quite sure those things are meant to be plotlines as in a story themselves though. They're more a slight adjustment to the setting to give an event to tell more stories as part of, rather than being something that progresses and has a start and finish. Many things in 40k just get put in and then go nowhere, because they were never intended to be more than that. Look at the whole thing with the Silent Kings Return for example, that was years ago now and he did basically nothing. The Leagues of Votann and what happened with them is just so badly done though. Their lore is great, but they didn't even get a novel at or near their launch despite 9th, 10th, Guilliman, The Lion, Angron and so many other things getting one right away. An entire new faction wasn't deemed important enough to get a book for 2 years after their release, they were just added in and basically forgotten about when they should have been a big focus for the lore.
The Dragon Age Origins clip in the beginning reminded me how the DA franchise completely changed from brutal dark fantasy into a politically correct safe cringe
I got invested into this franchise 3 years ago and i have been hooked since. It and the dark souls games just appeal to my love of dark fantasy and sci fi settings.
I hate Star Wars so much now, the only good things that’s come from Disney Star Wars is the mandalorion, the bad batch, and the final clone wars season. Warhammer is just better. There are literally hundreds of books, dozens of games, soon a new show (which might be shit), and Trazyn, the fuck is Disneys answer to Trazyn? I’m still a halo fanboy by heart but In this current halo drought 40k is the main thing catching my attention
I mean it would also just make sense for them to be in 40k. The great old ones are basically just slann starmasters anyways, so the seraphon being in 40k wouldnt be a stretch. Plus, they have the daemon keyword which means that in theory they should alreayd work for 40k.
Starwars: pg13 Warhammer:R Imagine if Deadpool was made to be pg13.
I’m glad you don’t have a lot of subscribers
The fact that a short summary of the Siege of Vraks can extend in length far longer than all the Star Wars films put together...
: O
All the lore we need is in DRG anyways For Rock and Stone lads !
It looks like the animator, I’d be flabbergasted if the show had more than one, was actively learning how to animate from scratch.
Nice to see Them ise SFM source engine in this animation
that nurgle beast is actually a darktide plague ogryn
I can't imagine a space-dwarves faction whose existence revolves almost solely around mining and resource-management having a very different aesthetic to this one, tbh. I like it, I feel like they translated the old-world aesthetic to the 40K universe pretty neatly. The NASA-esque aesthetic is fitting.
3 years, still no bespoke Tyranid Kill Team...
How come no developers or comments suggest to not balance games, let it be uneven and rather give the playerbase the power/choice to even the scales. When i was in my early teens, video(Pc) games were at the very start of becoming the powerhouse it is now, so mostly we played other games like football/soccer, those miniature figuringes we flicked at eachothers and the winner kept the opponents figures or heck, a game we called Knuckle coin, one puts his fist on the tabletop or floor, the other "slingshots" a coin like airhockey anyway my point is videogames are treated like theyre different and inconsequential, but theyre not. Let it be uneven, because exploitation, cheating and general dishonorable behaviour are regulated by losing friends or getting isolated which prompts self reflection, i dont suggest harrassement is good but it leads to the path of bonding and true friendship, and together with friends comes understanding the reciprocal nature of trust. All im saying is many children are not taught proper behaviour at home, some not even love. Theyre taught by grandparents, and or even friends, i know this because i was. I truly dont wish any cruelty, i just wish those who are in the shoes i once wore have the opportunity to learn kindness and love instead of perfecting cruelty.
Because they are a stupid concept lol
They really bottled on the designs people have explained it much better then I can. Atleast i play necromunda and can enjoy my ironheads
Units they can use: Artillery, light scout infantry, an Aircraft, walking robot, Heavy skimmer vehicle that DOESN'T carry troops.
Every faction that ain’t chaos or imperial has been screwed over horribly just cause they don’t sell enough.
I dislike HOW they merged the dwarvish angle and the cyberpunk angle. For example, why have random runes occasionally? Why not make it circuit based, given they are materially driven clones and AI bots worshipping failing super computers. They need to draw out the dwarven elements or get more cyberpunk. For that matter, I dislike the NASA punk routw they went. Give me more industrial punk, like their heavy weapons team. Giant drilled vehicles and tracked working tools converted to weapons of war. Not...moon buggy things.
Dont think its Nasa... its more an homage to Starcraft I think.
I'm pretty sure the runes are the code they use for the AI
So...Leagues of Votann are gonna get squatted maybe?
It would be so fucking funny if the squats got squatted twice
Hopefully and then come back with an actual good design next time
@@kingcrab7837 They have a good design, they classic sci-fi inspired frontier exploration aesthetics is interesting - having that sort of mid 20th century analogue sci-fi style representing humanities golden age of tech is a great idea. They're just missing the dwarf side of being space dwarfs.
@@nightlord131 this is just lowquality starcraft dwarfs with lego moonrover buggys
Thank you algorithm for showing me this channel.
GW is being run into the bedrock by greedy, shortsighted and gullible woke morons.
The people saying "They should be more unique!" completely miss that it isn't a choice between "Dwarfs" and "Unique". They can maintain the typical elements of the dwarf archetype AND take it in a more unique interesting direction, which is what they've only half done unfortunately. The Leagues already have the more interesting direction side with them being DAOT Worker drones for ancient AI, but they just didn't bother adding much of the expected and needed Dwarf side (to their model designs at least, it's there in the lore). The Age of Sigmar Kharadron Overlords are very Unique with being Steampunk Sky Pirates, but they are STILL Dwarfs. They have both, they didn't take away one side of that like what happened with the Leagues where they're lacking the Dwarf side of the design. And if you're making a faction whos whole purpose is supposed to be "space dwarfs", then yeah, they should actually be Space Dwarfs and have the expected features of what makes up that idea. It kind of defeats the point of having them at all if that doesn't happen. GW said they "didn't want "Dwarfs in space" in the same way eldar aren't "Elves in space""...the Eldar ARE Elves in Space!! The designers didn't seem to understand what Dwarfs in Space / Space Dwarfs actually meant and seem to think it meant literally put WHFB Dwarfs in Space with horned helmets and chainmail and all that...when what it just meant was take the expected features of the dwarf archetype, and come up with a sci-fi suitable version - that's what the Eldar, Orks, Necrons etc did, but with the Leagues it's bafflingly "oh, no, can't have that. Can't have Space Dwarfs look like Space Dwarfs". And what makes it worse (or better really as its great that they are) is their lore is Space Dwarfs anyway!. They're my favourite faction but its just a shame the direction they went with them, really. Still really want a book for them as the lore they have is great. And just a small thing you said, but the Leagues aren't wearing power armour.
I would love them to lean on the more Nordic style patterns, accessories and helmet designs. I don't hate their design at the moment, but it's just very scifi and not dwarf scifi enough as you say. It's like looking at elder guardians, war walkers and tanks. They're cool yeah, but they don't show the space elvish samurai look that make the Eldar look so good. Votann need more viking mixed in, hopefully with some more unique vehicles and ironkin unique unit types.
I think the faction and lore is really better then it looks at first sight...but thats kinda the problem. To really wrap your head around their whole identity you kinda need to lean strongly into their lore but its certainly not a love at first site thingy.
I like big, very unbalanced fights. Clones and Clankers, Guard and Traitors/Deserters/Chaos Guard, what's the difference?
Yup, I came to Warhammer 40K after Disney messed up Star Wars. It’s like migrating from a worse country. 😂 That how I think it’s best described. because Warhammer 40Ks owners haven’t ruined it. And Disney has most certainly ruined Star Wars. I’ll always go back and appreciate the Clone Wars, Rebels and Original Trilogy, The Mandalorian was good for the first several seasons. After that it’s started to turn poor. I also like the Bad Batch, still need to watch the later seasons though. Unless by some miracle Disney manages to produce some good content that isn’t racist or sexist. I won’t be considering Disney content as part of the Cannon Lore.
One word, Disney
Hi kids you like violence *Introduces 40k*
One of the biggest attractions to me about Star Wars was the sense that by using the force people weren't just using supernatural powers, they were entering into unspoken bargains with supernatural forces beyond their comprehension. So when Disney mutilated and discarded everything I knew and loved about Star Wars because their writers only seem to use their imaginations for coming up with new and interesting ways to humiliate beloved characters for no reason and make the lore suddenly nonsensical, there was nothing left to hold my interest in Star Wars. Well eventually I remembered Warhammer 40K, as a friend had given me a cursory introduction to the setting quite some time ago at that point and found my curiosity piqued while I was thinking back on it. So it led me to learn about the true nature of the chaos gods, and naturally I couldn't help but feel the same attraction to the power they offer in exchange for service to them as I felt about the force from Star Wars. And I couldn't help but notice some similarities between this relationship that mortals have with the chaos gods, and that between the dark side of the force and it's users.
Yeah i think the books are interesting in that they take a big threat and scale it down. Also the characters make sense for the most part. The kid that deserted the IG? Yeah desertion is punishable by death or being turned into a servitor, but his origin planet literally blew up and i doubt the tzeentchian spaghetti that is imperial bureaucracy will know the lil guy was meant to be a guardsman. Archeologist girl... i mean, it'd make sense that people working in archeology would not like things that can potentially blow up irreplaceable archeotech... plus i think it'd be hilarious if she managed to placate a Tzeenchian or Slaaneshi space marine by talking a lot about history and getting them to talk about "How things went down from their perspective". After all those two also represent hope and perfectionism as well. Mekki is an odd one with the whole "research new things" idea. Though i generally imagine the imperium to commonly research and build new things regularly, it's just that they can't approach the tech levels of whatever can be made in STCs. Yeah a gunsmith along with some engineers could absolutely build and operate a workshop that makes M16 equivalents. but that technology has no reason to advance or spread outside their hive city. So those guns will only ever end up in the hands of gangsters. And good luck figuring out how to build a lasrifle or a powerpack for it from scratch without blowing up the whole hab block in the process. Same things probably apply to most other stuff where a dedicated group of people could probably recreate a lot of 21'st century tech but there's simply no point in ever doing it because the STC made equivalents are just so much better and often readily available.
I switched from Star Wars to Warhammer 40k simply because Star Wars got too god awful
its the sheer amount of autism in every chapter of the Adeptus Astartes Space Marines and their Primarchs that keep me enthralled with the lore. Oh and everything is dialed to 11.. at all times. The emperor PROTECTS!
