Wow! Thank you for sharing !
My brother, if he was still alive and could play his violin....would LOVE this. Kogan was his idol.
Milstein's interpretation of Melodie is simply exquisite, unparalleled.
Ti dva spolu nahrávali spoustu nádherných desek zejména koncem 50. a v 60. letech.
Grumiaux ! How wonderful was his playing! This recording is, like other Grumaux recordings a jewel (the Debussy sonata by Grumiaux is an wonderful interpretation and so on...). Many thanks for the wonderful uupload ❤
Grumiaux was always such a perfection which means a Revelation of the music he plays. Great Szering once said "Grumiaux taught us all how to play Mozart". Who am I to dissent with great Szering? Szering gave the perfect definition of the incredible interpretation powers fo Grumiaux (remembering that legendary Clara Haskill said that the time he layed with Grumiaux was the best time of her life. Indeed the set of Beethoven Violin and Piano sonatas by Haskill and Grumiaux is, IMHO, mandatory listening)
DIVINAL!!!!
One of,or probably, the best performance of Souvenir de Moskau.
🎼💐👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Simply breathtaking! Thank you so much for sharing !
This was recorded in Paris in 1970, two years before the deaths of both Robert and son Jean (the latter in an auto accident). His wife Gaby died in 1999, his other son (Guy) in 2011. His daughter (Thérèse) is still with us. Robert and Gaby Casadesus were well-known for recitals involving one-piano-four-hands. You can find the entire video of this recording here: ruclips.net/video/v3xZmt9CgsE/видео.html
Shining !
I first heard this when I was 15 years old, in 1973. Very good. I didn't hear it since then.
Amazing.
N.Milstein, de la "Vieja Guardia",emocionante ,sublime, y la Orquesta le da un gran acompaniamiento!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!-
Maravillosa interpretación .
No good, too slow
Thank you sooooo much for sharing this fantastic, true virtuoso! rendition of Wieniawski!!
Prince of Violin
Look who is turning pages !
Rabin was the man to follov Heifetz. Due to personal tragedie it dident happen. But Listen to Him.!!!! Brynjar Hoff
Bravo Maestro.
He does a beautiful recording with it. Young Menuhin does a greek tragedy with this piece. All the pain, despair of life for humanity he put in that recording.

It's weird. I almost feel like Milstein himself doesn't fully understand the piece. It's marked "Lento placido". It's not a hard guess to see what that means even if you don't translate it. Yet his playing seems quite aggressive. And this is hardly an artifact of his age; even very youthful recordings of this transcription feature the same sort of rather aggressive treatment. And Milstein is no hack or deficient musician; he plays his Chopin Nocturne transcription wonderfully. He does take it at a faster clip than most violinists do but it's still a quite sound interpretation. This... really isn't. Bomsori has a recording of the Consolation on RUclips as well (via Deutsche Grammophon) which in my opinion is far better and gets much closer to Liszt's intent.
Mr. Finesse ❤
Tragisk! Brynjar Hoff
There are many great interpretations of this sonata. This is not one of them. Barely adequate for a violinist of Francescatti's stature.
Plays not so fast, but so heartfelt! Great Musician
Bravo. It is Mr. Rabin. Too bad he died too soon
One of the greatest violin masters in 20th century!
Magnifique!
He is good

BRAVO !
Had a chance to play a Strad for a few minutes many years ago, and I was struck at how light it felt, almost like it was made out of balsa wood, toy-like. The feel of the strings under the bow was very soft, and it felt like you weren't making much of a sound. But my friend in the hall said it sounded great. Very different feel than any other violin I've picked up.
I have a very early Klotz dating back to 1709, and I fully understand the feeling you describe. The sound is powerful, but not powerful in the sense that it is loud, powerful in the sense that it is very warm and textured without necessarily sounding forceful. To the ear, it almost sounds quiet. Quiet, but very beautiful.
No longer young, but listen to them play! No affectations, or dancing around, or grimacing, just music. Amazing.
Sempurna melodios.
