That’s great info. Thank you dawg. So I’m turning 40 in December. It’s never too late to learn something new. My grandfather was a great acoustic guitarist. He passed away last year and I asked the family for a guitar from him so I got a 72 something. Yes I have zero knowledge of anything music. But I’ve got guts and determination to learn anything in life and this is at my plate. Thanks for the info because everything helps. Thanks man.

I will say, having a nice sounding and a beautifully aesthetic guitar has made me bond better with my guitar and has encouraged me to pick it up more often. I would say this is somewhat an exception to Tip 2, although, I view gear as accessories and is separate from the guitar itself

All good tips. I also like "play songs you like and if you cant play the whole song play whatever you can and come back later" Also everyone should be forced to learn like a dozen basic chords within their first month or two of playing, learning chord notes and hand shapes is pretty important

#1 issue for new guitar players is understanding tunings and proper setups on guitars nothing is worse then playing a guitar that is not setup right and everything you play sounds like shit and thinking its you.

I started by someone showing me the three chords for camp songs.Then playing those songs. I got better over time and learned more chords. It also taught me to keep going when I made a mistake.

i already play guitar for 4 years but still stuck on beginner level TT i dont know how to advance or what to learn to improve my skill TT but i just dont want to give up because someday i would like to play like other too but i just cant find the rigth way :( i am still looking for advice if anyone would like to share what should i practice everyday or anything else i dont know🙏

If you can afford it, start with a decent guitar it will help you motivate which is really the most important aspect when learning a guitar. Decent guitars have better sounds, better handling and build and over all a joy to play.

something i find useful is to find a tutorial for my song (my favorite channel is Marin Music Center) and write my own tabs for it! my guitar teacher would write tabs for me during lessons and being able to write my own tabs is really game-changing. definitely helps with understanding
