GR86 100-ish mph through esses & T10 at Sonoma Raceway
GPS speed, 99 mph min speed through T10 and 97 mph min speed through the second apex of the esses. The fastest that I have done in any setup.
stock power, 9 lives racing rear wing, front splitter, R7 scrub tires
It was during a 1:49 lap. At this stage power becomes the bottleneck of the car.
The oil pressure in the esses is worrisome though...

It was high wind in the day so I lost quite some tail speed on the long straights (from T11 to T1 about 5mph was lost, also some from T6 to T7) Otherwise 1:49.x is possible.
GR86 chasing GR86 cup car then GT3 blew by

My street GR86 on Kumho V730 tires chasing a GR86 cup car in traffic at Sonoma. Cup car is way faster but I had fun driving behind. Watch to the end to see the GT3 blew by like a rocket... I was running an average 1:51.0 pace throughout the day. I talked to the Cup car driver he said he's running an average 1:47 pace Key performance differences: GR cup car - 245 /620R18 Continental Slick tires,...
12 passes in one session - GR86

A 86DC session quickly became a passing practice session after catching up to traffic on EVERY lap. It turned out that I had to do 12 passes but still laid down ZERO clean laps in the OP2 group. Especially at T9, I got blocked on both my hot lap attempts at the same spot. That must be quite some coincidence lol.
GR86 Oil Pressure Drops on LEFT TURN

I start to observe oil pressure drops even in LEFT turns and heavy BRAKING zones at Laguna Seca running 255/35R18 Kumho V730 (TW200) tires even WITH the accumulator (Moroso 1.5QT). Stickier tires do bring more oil pressure drops and things will only get worse without an accumulator. Full list of oil pressure drops in this video (the nominal oil pressure is around 68psi) 0:22 T1 BRAKING zone (54...

Does this setup fix the infamous FA24 oil pressure drop in right turns? Watch to the end to find out the track test result at Thunderhill Raceway. This video features the installation steps of the 1.5 QT Moroso accumulator together with the Canton electric solenoid valve. Data is collected with AiM Solo2 DL and my DIY devices for sensor reading and display. With the test result shown in the end...
Rear Axle Clicking Noise Fixed | 2022 GR86/BRZ
Просмотров 11 тыс.11 месяцев назад
My GR86 developed a clicking sound in the rear axle upon acceleration. At first it just happens when the car starts from stop. After a couple thousand miles, it happens every time the car accelerates, in almost every gear, cold or hot. Re-torquing the rear axle nut to spec did not fix the issue for me. Replacing the the rear axle nut fixed it.

The lack of clearance between the brake caliper and the inside of the wheel is troubling. If a rock lodges in there... damn.

The easier way is to use a rooted android, enable developer options in the android auto app (rooted), and you can add custom apps, movie apps, RUclips, even mirror your phone screen and play games on your dash, use a ps4 co roller though games are easier that way

The ASC is, for me, the worst sounding engine noise I've ever heard. Massively put me off the car; doesn't help how difficult it is to not have a stock exhaust in the UK.

Sorry if this is a really stupid question, but I have to ask... If we've ensured that there's wheel clearance, and of course the brake pedal isn't depressed, what are we hearing at 10:15? Did your wheels make that noise with the old brakes?

    • @DamianSheesh
      @DamianSheesh 4 дня назад

When you bleed the brakes after install, the calipers squeeze onto the rotors since you've pressed the brake pedal. When you let go, the caliper releases, but just enough that the pads just barely touch the rotor. That's what you're hearing. That material will get abraded pretty much the first time you bed in the brakes.

I just want to say a massive thank you for making this video. I spent days and days trying to find this sound on my car (Mk3 Golf VR6) and was baffled. My symptoms were as follows A rotational sound that changed with speed. Being FWD i heard the sound with my drivers side window open especially when I was up against a barrier of some sort. The noise was exactly as in your video, almost a buzzing, grining sound. Oddly enough when I would push the accelerator the noise would go away and when i would coast the noise would come back. It happened in any gear, engine off or on. Braking made no change to the sound. I had previously tightened my axle nut and brushed past it when the noise continued. Little did i know that I had accidentally reused my original nut when I changed my axle some months before hand. By sheer luck I had a brand new one in my boot and upon installing and tightening it the noise was gone. Thank you again!

Man like literally me searching for this exact knowledge and here you guys just nailed it! I have changed both of my rear wheel hubs today for my 14' Forester thinking those were the source and this exact noise just became worse. I'm trying this one next, maybe I tightened the nut a little too much, but it's the exact symptoms, and I can hear it, especially when next to a barrier. Much appreciated 👏

Damn. I wanted to like these so much. It seemed super useful. But, mine does not do this lmao. I literally just got it in, opened it up, and was instantly disappointed. It constantly starts, stop, starts, stops. Then just shuts off before getting anywhere close to the target PSI. Tried different batteries (had a 12.0 on it first, tried 8.0’s, 6.0’s, 5.0’s), different vehicles/tires, etc. 10 minutes of sitting there messing with it to GET ONE TIRE from 20 PSI to 35 PSI.

Car still makes the noise so im waiting on the nuts to come in, is it okay to leave it as 160ft/lbs for a week or so? Just curious lol
