Просмотров 4,4 тыс.3 года назад
In this episode of the GTI we dive into the COBB Accessport and show you just how long it takes to do an initial programming of the ECU and DSG. Utilizing a battery charger is recommended however, but you can utilize a second car and some jumper cables if you do not own a battery charger. Works just as good. Be sure to follow the on board instructions and verify and select the proper tunes and ...
MK7 GTI COBB SF Intake Install
Просмотров 2,4 тыс.3 года назад
Here is the 2017 VW GTI again with another performance install, this time we have the COBB SF intake. This install proved to be quite simple yet just a little annoying with the Velocity Stack. If you are working on that portion of the install you may find yourself struggling with finding the proper angle and hex bolts provided. One improvement I think that COBB could make on this SF intake is p...

hi u can void warranty with this or no?
Yeah you void the shit out of your warranty with this. If you want a tune and don’t want to mess with warranty then look at burger tuning jb4. It’s a piggyback tune
@@BLove722 this is true? Some say bith are same and etc
Thanks for sharing! Mine is manual mk7, do you think I can still get around 50 hours power by stage 1?
any update? did you put dust covers back on? loud fan noise?
Does anyone know if this works on TSI’s?
Any update? You still running those leds?
You had your truck running, and no problems?
Does it remove the top speed limiter?
Yes
It puts it to a ridiculously high speed but doesn’t remove it
8:27 LMAO 😂
Sir do you think apr stage 1 tuned would be good along with this intake?
Mine has h11 top and h9 bottom. Having trouble finding the right combo to order. I don't want to order different ones and have them look different color
Light link?
He told you what they were called. I think you can handle googling it. You are that lazy that you have to have a link?
Link?
What made you choose this intake over so many other ones. I really don’t know where to start other than I’ve seen this one in quite a few reviews.
Amazing video and quality thank you
Did you have the engine running on your truck while flashing?
Yeah would have definitely drained the battery otherwise.
@@lightspeedautomotive9177 thanks!
@@lightspeedautomotive9177 did you ground the negative?
What year is you're gti, mine is a 2018 would this same cobb accessport be compatible with all stock internals only thing aftermarket I have is blow off valve but I didnt want to install that til the stage 1 tune
This is the 2017 GTI. As far as compatibility purchasing the tuner from COBB directly gives you the best options. Unfortunately, these tuners are specific to the model and year of the vehicle. By model I mean MK7, MK7.5 and so on. If you buy a used one you just have to make sure that it was utilized for the same model, as each tune is different depending on GTI, or R models as well. I am currently sitting on the Stage 2 tune from COBB with stock internals. Working on videos for that as well. I don't have plans to upgrade internals until I upgrade turbos.
@@lightspeedautomotive9177 okay yeah I have a 2018 mk7.5, I'm gonna run a stage 1 tune from the cobb accessport
The stage 1 tune was mild, but definitely added a lot of power on the upper end of the rpm range. It also pairs well if you get the DSG tune from COBB as well.
@@lightspeedautomotive9177 what is the dsg tune do, it's for the automatic transmission right?
@@PabloLopez-xu5zn Yes the DSG tune helps the transmission out by modulating the pressures in order to keep the clutches from slipping. The factory states that the transmission is only rated for up to 350 ft lbs of torque. COBB helps increase fluid pressures which help keep the clutches in the case from wearing down faster with increased performance.
Put up some more vids on the Cobb tune
I’m actually working on posting more for stage 2 and 3, have been waiting a couple months for back order parts from COBB. Finally got em in.
UHHHH you skipped hella important steps.
I realize that. This video was just documenting a first install. I answer questions for free though right now.
@@lightspeedautomotive9177 no worries, I was tracking right along with you then boom you were done I was like wtf 🤣🤣🤣 all good. I got mine done and the stage 1+ tune. This thing is gnarly 🤩🤩🤩
Lol yeah, I’m sitting at stage 1+ still. Waiting on a back order to finish it up and go stage 3! And yeah the dang velocity stack annoyed me tried letting Cobb know they should add notch outs to get the proper angle on that.
@@lightspeedautomotive9177 lol frfr my hands are smashed up. I found this awesome nut driver with a completely flexible head. Makes getting around the engine bay 100 times better!!
