Welcome to Sportsmen’s Tradition Outdoors! We are the Pollay’s and we love everything outdoors. My name is Kip and my fellow STO team members are my wife Becky and son Bryce. HUNTING/FISHING SECRET- THE FIST BUMP?
Love mine-works great !
This is insane, way better than the takedown
I have used Leupold CDS for years, recently bought a Swarovski Scope, just ordered my dial based on this video, excited to try it. Thank you for taking the time to filme and post.
Thank you, kindly, sir. He’s an outstanding young man, and he is very accomplished in hunting, shooting and multiple sports. A firm handshake. Look you in the eye young man of character. I am blessed. I would get out of California too lol. Take care.
Low Pressure 50 Caliber Smokeless Loads in a 209 Factory Muzzleloader, 2 DVD set | eBay These 2 DVDs contain a demonstration of using Low Pressure Smokeless Loads in a 50 caliber factory muzzleloader.
Great video and I have to admire your son I'm assuming is a fresh faced strapping young man who looks like his parents raised him right. I say this because I live in a gang infested neighborhood where young men walking around with their pants barely staying on in groups at all times of day or night. Again thumbs up on raising your kid right. I live in California 😵💫. Moving back to Wheaton Minnesota
No groups, no chrono, no details about the gun what’s the point? You showed you got it to where you’re happy in 4 shots. That provides basically no useful information to viewers.
All of these cheaply produced rookie videos were very useful to the purpose intended. Here is the point. I had a son who was stir crazy during the initial covid lockdown. He loves RUclips and he loves the outdoors. He wanted to do various family orientated pieces as his heart is to get kids his age off video games and into the outdoors. We had bought our first muzzleloader from a friends recommendation and were told we could zero it at 200 in 4 shots and we tried it and did it. It gave us another bit of footage to keep him active. We have a variety of videos we enjoyed doing together and several have useful information for people new to the outdoors. If you don’t like it I am sure there are many videos out there to give you useful information. Move on. This fulfilled its purpose in our lives and we created memories in a tough time for our children. He had about 100 people subscribe and somehow this video got over 12,000 likes and you are the first pretty negative response. Don’t have more to offer you.
A-MEN. MOVE ON KAREN ! Great video. Thx.
Now you just need to fire two more shots to verify that one hundred yard zero. I've got the same gun other than mine is a nitrited and Cera coated barrel and many a gallon jug full of water have died at two hundred yards to prove its accuracy. You'll find quite a bit of drop from a one hundred-yard zero shooting at two hundred depending a lot on your choice of bullet. I find the 250 gr. Hornaday SST to be a pretty flat shooting bullet myself.
Got same gun when I looked at display it had the scope you mentioned but the one in box when I got home was only crosshairs. Sux
That would suck. Did you ask them about it
Just got mine couple days ago and it came with a manual for the yardage reticle scope but didn't have it only crosshairs also I'm gonna go back to basspro and see if they might swap it or something but I doubt it
They did give me the other one fyi.
@thomasharp3246 well that was alright of em ..wass It at basspro?? Maybe my hopes are alive still yet ..have you tested the reticle s?? Is it even close to them?? I believe from what I've gathered they're more suited for 150 grains of powder ..
It was at bass pro. They just pulled it off another one and gave it to me in exchange. I haven't tested it. The scope is pretty good though holds a zero even after being dropped in the woods multiple times.
Hi, thanks for the video. For your turret, did you use the numbers on the ammo box or actually measure speed and fill in the numbers on the web site. 2022 AUG Are you still using the KIC turret? Thank you.
Used the numbers on the box. It is actually pretty on to 1000-yards. I still use it and have used them for years on various rifles. Mostly use for hunting except on my 1000 yard set up
Love the Forest Gump clip. 😁. Ron White says "ya can't fix stupid". 😁
They maybe "numnuts" but if your not at a Range you have to expect other people.
Which model turret is that? Speed dial, LR Hunter, Military? Thanks
Hunter model, we use this one on all our rifles. We shoot long range and hunt with these.
@@InternetOutdoorsman Thanks! And great job on the video.
@@jimmusgrave611 appreciate that
Nice! What Vortex is that?
Diamondback Tactical, my boy has better eyes than me. I have the bigger glass. He primarily hunts with that gun and we really don’t need 1000yd turret fir that although a took an elk straight down at 607 in a wide open limited opportunity hunt in the wide open flats.
with that kind of short and light bullet, you'll have to be careful at 300yds. They drift pretty noticeably and start dropping fast after about 150 or so; and they lose energy quicker due to a less aerodynamic shape & less inertia. Even still, you can get away with really low kinetic energy if you're bullet has a high sectional density, which most of these "muzzle loader bullets" (cough, pistol bullets, cough) do not have lol. Examples My margin of comfort on "deer": 500ft/lbs at the animal with solid bullets My margin of comfort on Moose/ELk ish animals: 800ft/lbs at animal with solid bullets Add 100-200 ft/lb for expanding bullets, due to their wild variability in living targets, from my experience. Zero 200yds .452" 250 SST (.210 G1, .175 SD) +100gr 777= about 1700fps (my guestimation, 777 is a little hotter than the same weight of BP), 1604ft/lbs, 60.64 lbs*f/s 50yd- +5.2" , 1544fps, 1322FT/LB, 55.08 lb*f/s 100yd- +8.2", 1402fps, 1090ft/lb, 50.01 lb*f/s 150yd- +6.8", 1277fps, 905ft/lb, 45.55 lb*f/s 200yd- 0", 1172fps, 763ft/lb, 41.81 lb*f/s (moose cut-off is 175yds, 150yds due to expanding bullet limiting penetration) 250- -13", 1091fps, 660ft/lb, 38.92 lb*f/s (my deer cut-off, due to the expanding bullet limiting penetration) 300- -33.4", 1028fps, 587ft/lb, 36.67 lb*f/s 350- -62", 978fps, 531ft/lb, 34.89 lb*f/s (solid bullet deer limit would be 375yd, but the SST isn't solid) VS .459" NOE 459-500-RN (500gr, .391 G1, g-est: .353 SD) + 100gr 3F BP= 1400fps, 2176ft/lb, 99.89 lb*f/s 50yd- +6.8", 1330fps, 1965ft/lb, 94.89 lb*f/s 100- +10.1", 1267fps, 1781ft/lb, 90.40 lb*f/s 150- +8.1", 1209fps, 1622ft/lb, 86.26 lb*f/s 200- +0", 1158fps, 1488ft/lb, 82.62 lb*f/s 250- -14.5", 1113fps, 1375 ft/lb, 79.41 lb*f/s 300- -36", 1074fps, 1282ft/lb, 76.63 lb*f/s 350- -65.1", 1041fps, 1203ft/lb, 74.27 lb*f/s ..... 800yd- -742", 851fps, 805ft/lb, 60.72 lb*f/s (Moose Limit, high impact angle (poi: 4" side of spine= poe: 4" other side of sternum), no issue penetrating due to momentum and SD) unrealistic hunting range ... 1550yd- -4222.4", 673fps, 502 ft/lb, 48.01 lb*f/s (deer limit, borderline IDF, still will penetrate deer through, can you even see the deer at that distance lol?) Take away: the new stuff doesn't do anything the old stuff doesn't do, you just pay more for it lol. You seriously lose performance with the lighter bullets for only about 1.5"-3" less adjustment for trajectory out to 350yds. You still have to hold high or low with a 200yd zero for both. MPBR (max point blank range) (deer=6" circle) for the 250gr SST is 160yd( zero for 140yds) ; while the MPBR for the 500gr is 150yd (zero for 125yds)
I use a Flintlock .36 rifle for deer (278gr cast spitzer), and it realistically can take anything in North America (maybe not legally, but that's on account of the state-fudds); and I used to have a .40 (400gr cast spitzer) , had to sell that to pay son's medical bills. Brother in Law made an Augustin style percussion conversion for it and put a malcolm scope on it, he uses it as a market hunter. Younger brother had me build him a .32 express rifle for coyotes and groundhogs that shoots a 90gr hollow-point wadcutter.
A lot of good info. We are new to muzzleloader and since the video went to magnum loads.
That rifle is made for the magnum load 150 gr.
Yes it will shoot a 150 grain magnum load or 120 grains of blackhorn 209 loose powder
Thanks. Have them all over house lol. Recently found the wood in Pine Az and thought it would look cool.
That is so cool! Where did you get the skull from?
Thanks for the vid. Looking to purchase a CVA.
Why is your third shoot with a different gun?
We were dialing in the .270 that day too and never noticed that I put wrong clip in third shot. Nice spot. Rookie editor here lol.
@@InternetOutdoorsman subscribed! so now you have to put a "Rookie Edit" in each new video lol people will forever be trying to find the Easter Egg
Where do you guys shoot your bows?
Back yard mostly. But we also shoot in the desert, at the Heber cabin in the mountains, wherever we can.
What kind of rifle is that? Is it in an after market stock?
Howa 1500 7MM action with an Archangel after market stock..it has been a great rifle for us harvesting many animals.
Cool merch! Subscribe for a subscribe?
You bet, thx
Love the videos! That is definitely what's it all about. Brought back so many memories from my childhood
We spend a lot of time outside together as I have with all my boys. We are not big on RUclips by any means and started this to beat the Covid boredom. I helped him get on all major social media, he designed the logo, sells some hats, and tries to show his friends there is more to live than PlayStation. Been fun.
im getting my cast off on june 23rd
That's awesome i'm glad you recovered quick. hope its stays strong and healthy. have a great year. and day, and month, and hour plus minute.

Ayy man the hats are really cool I’m gonna get another one. I’m watching ur vids so keep up the hard work 👍👍

Awesome Video seeing those deer coming over the hill. The hat looks great also.
Hey buddy, good job on the hats and logo. Put me down for one.
I will come see you this week if the city is allowing visits. If not catch you soon as you want
Well done fellas. Tight lines from BFG
Tough luck out there, but it still looked like more fun than I had on the same three days... RL's call demos was really interesting. I've never been able to make the diaphragm type calls work. He has them DOWN! Keep the great videos coming!
We had a blast. We usually get done early with this kid so it was nice spending a few days in the forest with him
Great great video ! Thank you so much for posting it ! Looks like a wonderful day of fishing 🎣
Jamie R it was as great as our fresh cuts brother!
First! Good stuff! When this Cooties-19 thing blows over, I want in on this . 22 olympics thing! Are you sure round 1 wasn't done with a shotgun? I understand though. When you're shooting a drum magazine, It just get to be so much fun pulling the trigger fast! Another great video! Keep it up!
Especially using your drums my man. This one jammed a few times.
Nice rigs you have there. I'm sure you will be successful as long as the birds come in. Good work on the preparation!
ArchangelDevelopment you are the man!
Way to go Pollay's! Very funny! What a harvest! I need one of those calls...
