Its not like that anymore you can get taxi to go most places now after hours its grand market night so they will be running late. Unfortunatelymorant Bay is still a ghost town except tonight.

I remember one Christmas Eve my brother was 10, I was 8 and our little sister was 6. Grand market was not a thing at that time. We got permission from our parents to go to Morant Bay and play at the park and then see a movie later, for the first time in our lives. There was a movie theater at the back of Chung Sang hardware(who remembers that?). So we went and when the movie was finished, it was about midnight. Morant Bay was asleep and we had no other way to get back to our little district but to walk. So we walked in the pitch black for the 3 or so miles to get home. Three little kids half walking, half running. I was never so scared in my life, but we made it. Took us a little while. When we got home we were wet with sweat and breathing like a racehorse. We didn’t dare tell our parents that we walked home alone, the time of the night. Great memories!!

I see people wearing shorts and I’m jealous. I had to be fighting through snow today just to get to the dentist. Merry Christmas all. Stay safe!!
