What a wonderful gift, especially in this period where some of us are grieving loss
If someone tells me about someone they know who died without me asking them I will ask whatever I want. If they don't want the questions then they can choose NOT to tell me in the first place.
This sounds like the ASSIT training I did. Massively helpful. It really saves lives.
That is wonderful that you have been trained to provide support through ASIST. I am going to research more about it because from my high level view - it sounds like an amazing program to help save lives of those who are contemplating suicide. Thank you for sharing.
I completely agree that we can heal from grief and "rewire" the grief brain through neuroplacticity. My children and I are also among those that have healed completely because we KNOW that grief is not love. Grief is sadness and hopelessness. Love is joy. My kids and I no longer experience the pain or sadness of grief, we learned to transmute those emotional responses to love and gratitude. We no long ruminate in what isn't. We do not believe she is gone and no longer with us. She is and always will be with us in our hearts, memories, and her energetic presence will always be guiding us. We have moved on and no longer allow the words and numbers on the calendar to trigger us into feeling sad. That does not mean we do not still miss her, love her, or talk to her. We just do that from a place of love and gratitude. We are grateful for every moment we had with her in our lives and do not believe that anything is missing from our lives in the present. Maybe it is a spiritual thing for us. But whatever it is, we are no longer attaching grief to our sense of self. There is zero grief in our lives. But the love will always remain. The two are not the same in any way.
I appreciate your perspective Jay. I am so happy that you and your children have found the place where joy and happiness resides. I do believe that grief arises from love - had we not loved, we would not grieve the loss - right? I can see from your comment that there is deep love for her and that you stay connected in love with her - that is what I hope for everyone I know who is experiencing deep grief. Blessings, Pat

Hi Gwen, Thank you for watching the video! I will be sending you some information to your email today. I am so happy that you are feeling called to do this work with death, dying and surviving in grief!
This is such an amazing transformational Grief course!!!
This is great.
Thank you! What did you like that you heard?
Hey this guys on Extreme ownership he is a true warrior!!!!
Yes, Zane is a true warrior and a hero in my eyes for being such a loving dad to Wyatt.
Such a powerful and deeply moving (and I’m sure, therapeutic), telling of a Dad’s full devotion to his boy. Many points Zane raised are so relevant to my own journey along this hellish road. We lost our daughter Kimberly almost two years ago and sometimes it feels like it was just yesterday, while other times it can feel like decades. Thanks for sharing.
Hi Patrick. I am happy that you were able to listen to Zane's story but I am so terribly sad that you have had to walk this road since your daughter Kimberly passed. I will be posting a couple of more interviews with grieving dad's here that are very powerful and I believe hold nuggets of hope that may help you and your family. If you are interested in getting a free copy of my book: How Do I Survive? 7 Steps to Living After Child Loss, send me your email address at: patsheveland@msn.com and say "please send book" in the subject line and I will get one off to you right away. Blessings to you and your family.
