    Good review, I'm still considering getting the X1C, even though the P1S is proving to be just as good in pretty much most cases. But, the X1C is what my preferred shop got in stock atm, and I'm currently in the market and very, very tempted of diving in to this endevour, as I'm getting tired of having to rely on others to them print stuff for me. Thanks again for a good comparison!

I would like to recommend to you an alternative tool "OBS Studio" that can be used to do MANY things (for free), and one of those things is recording screens/windows to a video file! It will not add any water marks by default, and you can do all sorts of basic to advanced stuff with it. I think you will get a lot of value out of this tool! Try it out :)

    Please double check the part of your video where the heater chamber is replaced! You do not have to fully dismount the printer for replacing the chamber heater. It's fully sufficient to remove the two screws from the bottom side of the printer. The heater chamber can be demounted from the inside as it fits through the gantry elements, due to the side walls being a bit flexible. The procedure shown in the video takes one hour or more. Please at least leave a remark in the video or the comment section that the heater chamber can be replaced differently! Thank you!

    • @ristinnovations
      @ristinnovations 5 часов назад

      I was following Qidi's video on the steps to replace the chamber heater. I did notice that the Qidi-produced video did not have the two screws in the bottom of the frame holding the chamber heater. There may be an easier way to replace the chamber heater now, but I documented how I did it by following Qidi's instructions. Thanks for your comment.

    The biggest points that mean a lot to me are print quality, ease of use, and reliability. The equipment parts issue was a big turn-off with me. Replacing boards and fans is a definite no-go for me....unless shipping it back to them for the fixed doesn't cost me anything. Otherwise I'll stick with the one that has a better track record.

    Just a heads up: Unless I missed somthing, Qidi power loss recovery is absolutely a lie. 31 hours into a 33 hour print and I had a power hiccup. Printer did indeed recover and had a prompt for power loss recovery. You could either press Continue, or Cancel. I pressed continue and it immediately went to re-home the axis with no on screen controls to prevent this from happening. The bed began moving back up to home position which drove the partial print on the build plate right into the extruder and it kept trying to lift until I yanked the power cord. It is absolutely baffeling to me how they advertize a power loss recovery feature and then program it in such a way that it eill either destroy the equipment or destroy the partial print. DO NOT DEPEND ON THIS FEATURE. Again, unless Im missing someting, this is absilutely not a functional feature and it would be wise to buy a good 1000w UPS to prevent power loss issues. I plan to try to manually replicate this condition again with non critical test prints to see if perhaps it was user error, but from what I can tell, there was only two options to pick and one of them was to cancel the print.

    Just ordered the Qidi Plus 4, I understand that Bambu is the king by many, but the price point as well as the features that’s packing and all the updates only making it better or even its best competitor. Snatched it for about $740 shipped, can’t complain when I needed $1250 for just the x1c. Also them coming out with an AMS q1 of 2025 will make it a complete printer. They will only get better from this point and on!

    • @ristinnovations

    • @MyName-xt6js
      @MyName-xt6js День назад

      The LiDAR is useless for build plate detection and auto flow calibration if you want to use textured build plates. The spaghetti detection is a nice feature but if you properly calibrate and dry your filament and use the correct build plate settings you will not have enough failed prints to justify the increase in price for the feature. I have a P1S and after calibrating and drying all of my filaments my prints come out immaculate. I am just in awe at how clean they come out each time.

    Influencers, influencing, the Influenced. I've yet to see any that come close to BLs build quality or stability for that matter🤞. For all practical purposes, a P1S is all that you need, that too without AMS. Larger build plate only makes sense for those few. Same with a chamber heater or the gimmicky multicolor prints with AMS. If you are primarily into functional prints, you don't need an A1,A1 mini or a X1C or any clones, that are still catching up🤞.

I also stated what QIDI's CEO said in his letter that Qidi needs to improve their robustness of their product testing before they launch their products.

      Qidi plus 4 in many aspects is a better printer than bambu X1C. higher temperatures of the nozzle, build plate and chamber will let you print more engineering materials, bigger build volume, and lower price. Yes, qidi have quality control issues, but also much better support than Bambu Lab. I received the printer in the same time as new SSR board, I replaced it in 20min, treating it as a part of my initial setup and since taht time this printer works like a charm. I don’t have direct comparison with bambu lab print quality, but there is another youtube video made by 3DPrintSOS, with the conclusion that qidi is slightly better than bambu. Yes, bambu have AMS, if you need it, that’s a pros, but Qidi should have quite soon similar functionality as well.

      Try to print ABS/ASA with a large scale. Or nylon PA6/PA12. And, finally, something close to PEEK. Compare then, I mean not only exterior but toughness test and so on. QIDI is for engineers, Bambu is for PLA/PETG and other homemade hobbies. Or something small made of ABS, not more. For instance, I print different technical items, I don't even think about Bambu - it is a toy for my purposes. But if I need some Nyear dragons for my kids - sure I'm gonna buy Bambu.

  • @jasonvanhek4749
    @jasonvanhek4749 5 дней назад

    The qidi machines are a write off after 1500 hours. The plastic moulded parts in them are a nylon glass fibre mix that disintegrates after a while. Replacing those parts will require you to have the skills to build a voron. Ask me how i know! . Get a bambu and don't worry.

    • @etwkoelle6487

      Sorry, but this is bs. Have you ever checked the parts under the hood of your car? It's Polyamide ("Nylon") to a huge extent. Nylon is a high perfomarnce engineering thermoplastic material, so why should anything "desintegrate"? So, both models can go from 0 to 60 at roughly the same rate. Are parts under the hood equal? One has already been on the road a few years and still going strong. Personally, I prefer the higher quality machine, but perhaps technology is beyond that.

      My observations are that both printers are built using a solid frame. Mechanically, they look similar to me. I'm not an expert in electronics, so I can't offer any input there. If I had to rate the two machines, I would still list the X1C on top, followed by the Plus 4. Bought the Qidi Plus 4 3 months ago. No real complaints and enjoyed the larger plate size. Last month it printed a very large blob inside the cover. While it was awaiting parts that was covered under the warranty I ordered the X1 Carbon. Gota say both are equal in quality both in construction and print quality I really enjoy the AMS enough that it's my fav. Though I read Qidi will have there AWS out Q1 of next year. When dealing with Qidi service I simply told them the issue and they promptly responded with tracking number for all components to replace everything in the print head and all electronics and boards associated.

    If a channel tries presenting QiDi products I block them - because QiDi are that bad, I'd I never got my money back as the printer I bought never worked. On the other hand my Bambu Printers work like a dream and when there was a problem they did a full recall - and it all went seamlessly.

      I have both machines and both work great. Qidi support has always responded promptly, while bambu support tickets may take 1-2 weeks to get a response. The A1 problem is not an immediate recall, and users are given the option to replace it themselves.QIDI also supports customers who do not want to replace the parts themselves to return the printer. Why hate a brand and over-praise a brand? We just need better products.

These are the facts. @@NaveicationI think you're over estimating how 'revolutionary' Bambu was. They're solid printers but the most significant advancement IMO is a polished ecosystem that's friendly to less experienced users and a reliable multi-material system at a competitive price point. The rest is simply a well-tuned CoreXY printer in an enclosure running closed-source software. It can produce great prints out of the box but where they did have to trim costs makes it difficult to repair the inevitable issues that pop up after a year or two of heavy use. As someone who has made custom printers, they're not interesting to me but I respect how they pushed the industry to step it up. I'm not a fan of forced data collection but my main concern is their popularity has led to other printers (like QIDI) also being assembled in ways that make long-term maintenance about as practical as repairing a big name ink-jet printer.

      The Plus4 uses Qidi Studio as stock, not Qidi Slicer (which was for their 3-series models). Plenty of people on the Qidi Discord using Qidi Studio as their everyday slicer with the Plus4 without issues. While true that the first batch models of the Plus4 had some teething issues with profiles and earlier firmware versions, the newer firmware versions release by Qidi have resolved most of those issues, and updated profiles that the community have developed produce even better quality than what is shown here. A lot of the reviews you're referring to were made 3 months ago. Things have improved. What is shown here reflects the largely untuned performance of the Plus4 out of the box. With tuning it gets even better. This is the benefit of the Qidi printers. They don't lock you into what the manufacturer provides for you, and the community around the Plus4 has embraced that, and many of the user prints frequently shown on the Qidi Community Discord server are absolutely flawless.

    I have bought quite a few 3D printers over the last 11 years, the X1 Carbon Combo has given me much less downtime than other machines, that's not to say it hasn't had issues though, when I took the nozzle out to clean it the unit could not be replaced as one of the brass thermal inserts in the extruder popped proud and so stopping the replacement of the nozzle, my UK vendor had a replacement extruder in the post that very day and I received it next day, I have purchased many printers from this vendor, Technology Outle in the UK, they have the best customer service I have ever encountered and I was a customer service manager for an international company The X1C produces very good quality prints and very quickly and at the time I bought it was the only super fast machine that was multi material and under £1500. The Plus4 is half of what I spent with Bambu Lab, I was intending to purchase a second X1 Carbon or maybe a P1S, I was hoping for a new flagship model from Bambu by now, think this will now be soon though, I will hold out for now though, I could end up purchasing a Plus 4 machine.

I have been thinking of buying a second one and a second AMS, however, I have been hoping that Bambu would release a larger machine with a toolchanger, a toolchanger would create a lot less wastage with multi colour and multi material prints. The Qidi plus 3 was on my radar also when I decided it was time for one of the super fast machines, I think it was the AMS capability that made my decision.
